Pantene Extra Liso!! It felt funny when applying to my hair while damp, but when it dried, my hair was in love!! My hair was so soft and fluffy :) I didn't care that it didn't make my hair straight because I don't use heat anymore

Miss:

Hello Hydration Conditioner. My hair felt dry, like straw. I had to use the Extra Liso to help it feel smooth. Thank God I only bought a small sample from target for $.99

Hit:
Aphogee 2 min. reconstructor - I mixed it with my staple, Proclaim Aloe & Shea Butter conditioner, for a perfect blend of moisture and strength. :D

Hits:
Surge. I love it!

Profectiv Mega Growth. I feel like an idiot b/c I used this stuff my senior year in undergrad to grow my hair from SL to APL and then I stopped. It really stops the breakage and helps retain length.

Miss: Gold N Hot Conditioning Cap- Oh my goodness! This thing really sucked. I left it on for 45 mintues and parts of my hair were still cold. The rest of my hair was lukewarm. I took that puppy back.

Oh I did not know your supposed to leave it on- lol!!! I think I am going to try it again next week....

I didn't know how to use it because the instructions were in Spanish. I did a search on Extra Liso and I found the thread where a young lady asked her roommate (she knew Spanish) on how to use it. She told her that it was a leave in and only use a quarter size amount. That's all it took for me and I loved it

So now that it's the end of the month I'm back with my final verdict:

HITS:
  • Pantene Pro-V Intense Moisturizing Mask
  • Kenra Moisturising Shampoo
  • Mizani H20 Nighttime treatment
MISSES:
  • Hello Hydration - did absolultely nada for me. Thank goodness I only purchased the $0.99 sample bottle
STILL TRYING TO DECIDE:
  • Dudley's Moisture Retainer
  • Extra Liso Combining Cream - so far I've not had the same outcome as some of the other ladies. I'm going to give it one more try before I chuck it to the back of my closet.

Because it's so early here is the list of what I'm trying this month in hopes of them being a hit:

TRYING
  • Pantene Pro-V Intense Moisturizing Mask
  • Kenra Moisturising Shampoo. I love the clarifying poo so much that I thought I would give it a try
  • Mizani H20 Nighttime treatment
I'll be back on the 30th with the final verdict.

Hits:

Queen Helen Garlic Shampoo (It's odorless, and really did help with my hair shedding! But you MUST DC afterwards, or your hair will feel kind of rough.)

ORS Jojoba Oil- This oil is light enough that it won't weigh my fine hair down (EVOO was too heavy).

Neutragena Silk-Touch Leave In- After clarifying and washing my hair with the garlic shampoo and deep conditioning, I detangled my hair in sections (the second time I've detangled this way) and applied the Silk Touch on each section and then detangled, airdried my hair, then applied some ORS jojoba oil when it got about 90% dry......whoa! My hair has been feeling so soft and moist ever since! It's been 3 days now, and it's still pretty soft! I haven't had to use my UBH Creme Moisturizer (which I use when I get very-post relaxer and I am now almost 8 weeks post.) I still mist my hair with just plain bottled water and I'm good to go! :D

Misses- Sea Plasma Hair and Skin Moisturizer- I'll pass on this for my hair and just use it for my skin, so that I can get my $5 worth, lol! I initially gave it a good review, but should've waited a couple more weeks before doing so. This did not help my hair feel moist for very long. I ended up going back to using plain ol' bottled water and either a creme moisturizer or my jojoba oil, which worked better (and this was right before I discovered that detangling in sections with my Neutragena Silk Touch Leave In actually worked better than the water and creme moisturizer/oil!).

How are you using the Mizani Nighttime treatment and where did you get it from? I've been eyeing it and may try it for next month.

Final Verdict

Hits
Pantene Relaxed and Natural Breakge Defense Line ( I was apart of a challenge using only these products for a month and I can honesty say I got little to no breakge while using products)

Pantene Relaxed and Natural Wrap and Set Spray

Kemi Oyl

ORS Olive Oil Replenishing Pak

White Rain for Women of Color Intensive Moisturizing Conditioner

Silk Elements MegaSilk Moisturizing Leave-In Treatment

John Frieda Luminous Color Glaze for Darker Brunette Shades

Motions Moisture Plus Conditioner

Misses

Clairol Shine Happy Treatment (it did make my hair shiny and soft initially, but then I started getting some breakage and it defintely dulled the bling bling factor I had at first)

Still On the Fence

Motions CPR Treatment Conditioner (I think it will work better if I try it with heat)

Herbal Essences Color Me Happy Shampoo (a good shampoo, but don't know if it really helps with keeping color, will probably give it away)

I got mine from a local BSS. To use it I part my hair in four sections. scoop out about a quarter size amount rub my hands together a little and then rub it thru the section. I repeat this for each section. So far my hair has responded well. I do feel like I need to clarify more often because of the mineral oil but it's help me with the shedding (when I use it consistently) and it makes my hair feel silky and soft. If you do add it to your October list I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Revisted Hit: NTM Silk Touch Leave-In Cream

Misses:
Hollywood Beauty Carrot Oil Creme
Proclaim Tea Tree Frizz

Hits:
ACV Rinse-made my hair shiny and silky smooth. This is a def. keeper that I am adding to my regimen.

Aveda beautifying Composition oil- the truth, a nice oil that isn't all heavy and greasy. It kinda smells like toilet water. But I don't mind!

Aveda Color Conserve Strengthening Treatment- This has OFFICIALLY replaced my Aveda DR treatment, maybe the conditioner too (not sure yet). This is the best thing I have tried this year!!! It's def. a conditioner and treatment in one!

Washing my silk scarf with clarifying poo- My scarf was so clean! My forehead even is starting to clear up.

Out on the fence:
Eqyss Survivor Detangler-felt good going in, but I didn't notice a huge difference.

Biolage Fortifying Leave-In- worked good on my cowashed hair but didn't do good with my reg washed hair.

Ditto on the ACV rinses. They are so cheap, yet effective!!!!!!! I love how they make my hair so shiny and smooth.

On the fence: Duo tex - I guess my expectations were too high, but it didn't do anything spectucular. I'll give it another try.

Revisited: Humectress + EVOO + honey = super moisturized hair!

Hits!
Amla rinses on braids
Homemade Henna oil
Eqyss Survivor Detangler (that was actually in Aug, but I forgot to mention it)
Soft water
Aloe butter (it's very light)

Duo didn't do anything fancy for me either. Didn't do anything bad either.
