As usual---
AVEDA Damage Remedy Shampoo
AVEDA Damage Remedy Treatment
AVEDA Brilliant Finishing Gloss w/ rice bran oil
AVEDA Anti-Humectant Pomade
RUSK Smoother Leave-In Conditioner
Neutrogena Triple Moisture Silk Touch Leave-in Cream

MISS !
OPTIMUM Oil Therapy Conditioner in the yellow tube. HUGE MISS ! No Moisture, No Slip---My hair did not feel conditioned at all!

i second that! the entire optimum maintenance line is horrible! :(

ok, aveda heads don't beat me up, but damage remedy line was a miss for me.

Sadly I spent quite a bit even though I did get the small containers though. Oh well, lesson learned.

I just didn't like what it did to my hair and how it felt.

Also Hollywood carrot creme was a hit and a miss. A hit because it made my hair feel so freaking luscious and mosturized it was unreal. A miss because it made my scalp go freaking nuts. Should have put it on augusts list but I'm splitting the difference here;)

Also Kenra Clarifying was a definite hit and helped me rid my hair of that HCC:mad: I'll be keeping it around in case I mess up again.

Aww sorry that you didn't like it. Did you buy it from an Aveda store? They allow you to do returns.

I did indeed get it at the Aveda store (they hooked me up with some free stuff too!  . I feel a little funny returning a nearly half empty container of the intense conditioner though, even though I know they wouldn't mind.

My parents are coming for a visit in November and I'll just send it home with my mom. She can use anything and her hair loves it (figures!!!)

It wasn't that my hair felt dry afterwards, just weird...like really fragile. I really can't put any other words on it. I don't think it was the protien (maybe it was? don't know???)

This week I used my normal deep conditioner which includes keraphix and my hair returned to feeling normal.

MAYBE just different types of protien and my hair like keraphix more. I seriously have no words for the sheer difference in what my hair was like. I didn't even like touching my hair after using the Aveda:(

Not a big deal,my mom will gain from my loss:lol:

Big hit for me.....

Oyin's Burnt Sugar Pomade- I really love this. It's like a hair grease w/o the bad stuff and my hair is so moisturized, strong and the shine is amazing.

Miss.....

Ion soft bonnet hair dryer- I was under there almost 2 hours and my hair was no where near dry.

Oh my Goodness. I LOVE this Oyin Pomade. It smells sooo yummy too!
Big Hit for me!

I haven't posted any hits or misses in a long time because I don't try new products much anymore. But this month:

MISS:

Qhemet Biologics Amla and Olive Heavy Cream

I know everyone raves about this, but it just did not work for me. It's too heavy and oily for my hair, I guess. :ohwell:

Yeah, it's the same for me. I just wasnt crazy about this stuff for my hair.

I will...my Mom purchased a kit from the salon where she works, but they are rationing them out....

I did purchase 1 kit, but I wanted to purchase 5. My Mom said that they wouldn't let her get more...click here to see a pic ---> kit

HIT
ORS relaxer - It straightened the heck outta my hair! I used it right after I took out my weave, and after scratching my head like crazy, and there was no burning. I'm still not sure if I'll replace Phyto, but it's definitely a cheap alternative.

Honestly-I would view it as a sealant & for shine because from what I have read in other threads, a moisturizer has water as one of the ingredients. I'm a little confused about it myself. However-if it is working for you for daily moisturizing, then there are no problems. When I think of moisturizer-some type of cream comes to mind like Qhemet's Heavy creme-etc. I still love the pomade-even mixed with a little water I can see how it may add moisture.
Yes, that's how I view it also. So far it is working well as a moisturizer. I'll alternate between this and my heavy cream so hopefully I'll be ok. Thanks!

Hit:
Hello Hydration Conditioner-smells very good, but I don't know if I want to purchase just yet. I don't like the fact that a cone is the 3rd ingredient. Smells delish though!

Hmmm, It's Okay:
Hot Six oil, it's okay, not as good as my Kemi or Keracare essential oils, can't wait to use it up but it def. does the job.

Aussie Knot Detangler as a prepoo. Once again this is good but it has cone as the second ingredient. I will use this up, but will not repurchase. Smells delish!

Africa's Best Kids Shea Butter Detangling Lotion: this is okay. I think it may work better once I clarify and start all over.

Still on the fence:
Paul Mitchell conditioner, didn't do much detangling, but I think mines was stale, returning it today.

Pantene Liso Combing Creme-Felt good going in but made my hair feel kinda built up. Feels like I didn't even wash it last night. I think is is the cone as the second ingredient. But did define my newgrowth curls and my hair looks darker for some reason.

Hits--Ojon Restorative Treatment. LOVE it!! I could actually comb out my hair which I can never do. Lots of slippage and moisture.

Devacurl No Poo. Haven't used it in awhile, but it's going to be back in heavy rotation. Lots of moisture also.

HIT
UBH conditioner
Roux Porosity Control
Affirm 5 in 1 Reconstructor
Baggying

MISS
CON mosturizing detangling shampoo (way too much build up hair felt cleaner before the wash)
Don't hurt me but phyto relaxer. It left me underprocessed despite the fact that I used the entire tub of relaxer and left it on waaaaay longer than the max time.
stretching beyond 12 wks
My Hairdresser (cut my hair in an assymetrical bob to "even" the back

UNDECIDED
Qhemet Amla and Olive heavy Cream

I wish I had went to Sally's before I bought the ORS Olive Oil Moisturizer (bottle)....it's cool...BUT...

the Silk Elements Revive & Restore Oil Moisturizing Hair Lotion is far better in my opinion.

I will definitely invest in a couple of containers of this. I'll keep using the ORS sporadically until it's used up or I may give it to my cousin.

I think I may have finally found my main moisturizing lotion, to go along with my kids organics detangling lotion.

HIT!

Always a hit - NTM Daily Deep Conditioner - got me through the tangled mess I had over the weekend.

Hits:
Motions Moisture Plus Conditioner (another month of good results, I think I can firmly say goodbye to Humecto in the Tub)

Africa's Best Herbal Oil - $1.94 for 8 oz at WalMart. Lots of great ingredients. Can't beat the price:)
