Random Hair Thoughts/Thinking out loud

I went to my first Dominican hair salon last week. Why did my hair start reverting over night?!! I had to touch it up the next morning. Total waste of $65. I'm going through a straight hair phase again. I love my hair straight at this length. I'm waiting on my first titanium flat iron to get here so that I can see if I can actual achieve silky straight results.
What flat iron did you get? My favorite titanium flat iron is one I got on Amazon for 35 dollars. It works better than my infrared titanium iron

So your hair was thriving with a relaxer? I’d go back to relaxing. I’ve been thinking about it myself. My silk press doesn’t even last a full week anymore :(
Yeah when I rollerset it every week. I don’t have patience for that anymore. I hate having to set my hair. I need real wash and go hair. Like I can wash, style and dry in an hour or less.

Now I just wash and slick back and call it a day.

I wouldn’t have the energy to straighten and have my hair not even last a week. I used to wash my hair every 3 weeks when I pressed my hair. If I were you I would relax and straighten it every 2-4 weeks

I’m going through peri menopause and sweating sooooo much. Atp I just needs some passion twists or something.

Anyone with issues detangling. I’m loving using a more clarifying poo or hair scalp scrub then going in with a cowash for detangling. I then use whatever conditioner I’m using.

I got the WavyTalk titanium flat iron in 1.75". I'm happy with it!! I had to use 450 still, but I was able to get my hair straighter than the salon :spinning: I was watching a Youtuber who had the Babybliss Prima and straightens her hair on 465. That might need to be me :look:

465 is way too hot! 410 is the max I’ve ever needed with very coarse hair or fine hair

I did some wild stuff today by doing a corrective relaxer after my hair reverted in May. Flipped from lye to no lye and no burning and I actually feel sleek. I was really considering cut my hair off after my reverting but glad I now am excited about hair.
I be wildin too hair-wise :lachen: I haven't done it in a minute, cause I've been on low power mode lately.

Something I just noticed: I think my scalp has calmed down a bit.

I remember when I was younger, I couldn't leave my hair down when I was natural for more than a day or two. It would itch and drive me clean up the wall until I braided it unless it was straightened.

Today, I just realized that I've been in these two buns while taking this 2nd set of braids down for probably a week, give or take a few days. Now it's partly because I'm tired and partly lazy

My scalp has barely itched. Now keep in mind I have a SIGNIFICANT amount of new growth. Almost a year's worth come July 31st (or sometime in August. It's one of those :lachen:). I don't know if it's from the products I use (TGIN Green Tea and Dax Blue. Dax has covered a multitude of hair sins :abducted:), the fact that my hormones are changing, or even that I'm drinking more water (ya girl was struggling for a bit lol) but it's nothing short of miraculous, glory be to God. I tell you one thing, if I had the same hair and scalp back then as I do now, my hair would be to my ANKLES. ANKLES, ya heard me? :gorgeous::rofl:

This grey hair is becoming outrageous. Whyyyy, do I have grey hair in my EYEBROWS? :nono:

It was supposed to come in, sit down, and don't touch anything.

I wanna dye everything, but I'm scurred to mess up my progress, and I just know I'd have to be more hands on than what I am now. Guess I'm gonna continue to avoid the mirror :abducted:

Thank you @GettingKinky, @Prettymetty, @ItsMeLilLucky, and @MzSwift for the kind words and suggestions. I didn't take this appointment well because I was already pretty down and wanted to get a nice hairstyle as a pick-me-up. I was able to take care of my hair for the first time since then without becoming upset. I'm happy with the results from some of the new products I used.
I have a wig coming in next week which I'm excited about. Just want to play in some hair without messing up my own. lol

It’s so ghetto. I have a grey eyelash

Ever since I keratin treated my edges, I’ve lost the feeling to want to chemically or thermally alter my hair texture. I think eventually I won’t need to do the edges either but I’ll work towards that. 13 months transitioning so far. I can’t wait to be fully natural and wear twists again.
