Random Hair Thoughts/Thinking out loud

So I need some help. I've been in my own twists for weeks now and am going on vacation in a week. I was planning on doing faux locs but I think my hair needs a break. How should I style it? I'll be in Florida for 2 weeks and don't want to do my hair while I'm there but I don't wanna do twists and a wash and go wouldn't work. Or should I still do the faux locs?

Are you opposed to a crochet style? Maybe something like crochet twists or locs instead of loose hair to make your daily styling easier.

I went to the salon today. I needed a deep conditioner along with my usual blowout. She says my roots are growing. I have about 4 inches since my last color. She colored my hair in September or October si that means my hair growth is 1/2 inch a month. From a super slow grower to average is amazing! I can do better than that. I’m pushing for 1 inch a month for the rest of the year.

Probably going to give my hair a good wash and condition today. Did some search and destroy last week to get rid of SSKs. Pleasantly surprised that there weren't many split ends but a professional trim would still be nice.

Decided to change the booking on my upcoming hair appointment from an amino acid treatment to a silk press. I hate SSKs but I don't want to risk damaging my curl pattern from the high heat. Idk, I'll see what the hairstylist says about the treatment when I go.

Also waiting for my wig to come in the mail. Already bought all the supplies to be able to style it. Pray for me that I don't mess that up. lol

loving my locs. Will be 4 months loc'd tomorrow. I'm loving how simple my hair routine is. My loctician washes and does my retwists once a month and all i do at home is keep my locs moisturized and cover them at night with my loc soc.

I'm so glad I made the decision to loc

i'm still on my no-buy and will continue it until i use up my current oil stash. I use AVJ diluted with water as my moisturizer and oil my scalp with castor oil

So I flip flopped, adding the amino acid treatment back to my upcoming hair appointment. This is thanks to wash day yesterday, which took forever. I don't have time for long wash days or styling sessions anymore. I don't want to relax my hair because I love my hair texture. It's that I need something to make caring for it simpler when my hair isn't in a protective style.
I will also ask the hairstylist her opinion in weaves because, unfortunately, I do sweat a lot so I don't know if that will work for me or not.
Edit to fix poor grammar and typos.

We’ll be back in July until the end of the year. Team No Buy!

I'm bummed about how my hair turned out at the salon today. I got more cut than what I expected, but that was probably needed. So I'm back at full APL and won't be making BSL this year. Sweated out my press thanks to being stuck in over 90 degree weather for way too long. I do like the jet black color I got.
Going to go for a nice walk tomorrow morning when it's cool out. I think that will help me to feel better.

I washed out the press. Unfortunately, my hair still smells burnt.
I'm not going to check for heat damage or check the length of my hair with my length check shirt because that will be too upsetting for me right now. All I did was put my hair in a few braids to stretch it out to prepare putting it in twists this weekend. That's not the hairstyle I wanted to rock after paying so much money at the salon yesterday.

I DESPISE burnt hair smell like ugh, come on please we've evolved from that. I'd rather smell like grease than burnt hair. There, there *pats back*
:bighug:

I am in bit of a pickle though. I'm trying to figure out what to do with my relaxed ends since I don't want to cut them (they're good condition last I checked), but I wanna wear two strand twists. I'm gonna have to rod them or add some weave to blend the textures, none of which sounds appealing right now. I was thinking about adding beads but it'll be too many twists and I can't stand that clacking sound constantly. I'd like it at first, but then it'll get old really fast. Maybe I could use the loc jewelry, but that would be too rough on my ends. Decisions, decisions :scratchchin:

I'm sweaty without the gym. I'd probably just melt away if I actually went. "Anybody seen Lucky?" "Yeah she's that huge puddle over there."

May your gym endeavors be blessed.
Chile me too. This blowout barely lasted a week. I have a twa under these straight ends. It’s possibly the hottest summer ever. I have to start washing my hair more frequently.

I was able to do a length check on my hair this morning. The hairstylist cut about 2-3 inches off on what was suppose to be trim when I had told her I wanted a trim. I hate the shape of my hair right now. I'm dropping out of my own challenge because there is no way I'm going to make BSL this year since my hair grows so slowly. I give up on hair salons. I give up on this hobby.
