no more Optimum products. i've tried the Stay strong shampoo and conditioner, and the 3-in-1 oil moisturizer. all i like is the shampoo, i gave away the conditioner (my best friend swears by this line) and i can't wait to finish the bottle of moisturizer. never again!

ITA. I forgot about all the Optimum products that I've thrown away. Whole bottles and all. I still have the Shine Booster....but I think I'm going to throw that away also.

I will never use anything grease!
I have learned sooo much from this board about sealing hair that grease is such a no no to me! I used to actually think that grease was moisture for my hair. No wonder it never grew! :wallbash:

how could i forget:

Motions lye relaxer - always underprocessed hair
Perm repair - left my hair stiff and dry
Cantu moisturizing shampoo - too drying
BB castor oil moisturizer - can't get pass the smell

I don't know if anyone uses these, but I hated the Profectiv line.

i agree. my mom bought the whole line back in '05 thinking it'd grow our hair. Everything was so greasy and overpriced. junk in a bottle.

HOW TRUE! i still have a full bottle sitting on my dresser from Feb. 06

And it's evil twin: Motions Oil Moisturizer...dang, we just quoting each other.
We've had some bad hair stuff darling. Glad we joined LHCF! lol.

Anything Profectiv. Motions Lye Relaxer.
BT. Anything Nexxus. All Burt's Bees poo and
con. All Mario Badescu poos and cons. Bought
the entire Garnier because by best friend swears
by it. Took it on vacation and something in that
line made my scalp break out so badly it took me
a month to heal. Any no-lye relaxer. Just cant use
them. MSM-my period hasn't been regular for four
months-tossed in the trash. Anything from the Aveda
curly line. Entire NTM line. Entire Dove line.
When I try a line, I buy EVERY product go through it
keep what I like and get rid of the rest. So it's always
a disappoint when something doesn't work. But so
far I've found the few products that I love that
work on me. The rest - tossed.

KeraCare Hydrating Detangling Shampoo - Liquid plastic YUCK!
KeraCare Humecto in the bottle - Totally worthless!
(although I might try the one in a tub)
Pink oil - why, why, why????

I gave up on that, too. My hormones became imbalanced.

A lye relaxer, like Destiny said.

Never again will I let another perm burn my skin. It's not worth it and I truly believe that I do not have to burn my scalp off to get my hair straight.

Oh and let's not forget Infusium 23, sticky hard mess.

Jamaican Black Castor oil (same comment above applies).

On my no no list:

lye relaxers
Lusters Pink oil
Hollywood Carrot Oil (in the jar)
Aveda Rosemary Mint anything
Hair grease - any type and especially Blue Magic

I know there's more to this list but can't think of anything else.

-A

Anything Lusters Pink
Anything Hollywood Beauty
Anything with Mineral oil
Protein
Anything Motions
Black Protein Gel
V05
White Rain

Anything from Sunsilk
Anything from Garnier Fructis
Anything Qhemets Biologics

ORS Conditioning Packs- I didn't see anything special
Elasta QP Mango Butter
BB Oil Moisturizer- I used to love this stuff but I am tired of the little white balls--ugh
Pink Oil Moisturizer
ORS Olive Oil Lotion
NTM line- It was okay, not worth the price they charge for such a small amount
Let's Jam-ran down my face all day

Elasta QP mango butter

Nexxus Line

BB hair oils

Hollywood hair oils

ORS oil oil lotion

Kenra Shampoo, conditioner

Pink Oil moisturizer - Just plain Nasty

Queene Helen Cholesterol - Dry brittle hair

Amla powder in the green box....that stuff made my hair as hard as a rock!!!!

i think we should all write to Lusters about their Pink oik moisturizer to tell them how much WE HATE IT ! lol

i dont like Motions Oil Moisturizer Silk Protein Conditioner - my hair was so dry afterwards
fantasia liquid mousse wrapping lotion- left my hair potato chip crunchy for my wrap
DR. MIRACLE'S Stimulating Moisturizing Gro Oil - If i ever see the dude that made this, im slappin the black off his *** . this stuff broke my hair off BADLY.
ORS Creamy Aloe Shampoo- my hair was dry even after using the replenishing pak for the conditioner. i only used it once and Im trying to get rid of it.
queen helene cholesterol- hair was hard and TANGLED.

I'm not putting my life on it, but I won't be buying these products again...

Any kind of relaxers
IC Fantasia heat serum
KeraCare daily moisturizer
Sunsilk
Let's Jam - now this is nothing but grease

ETA: carol's daughter hair products - too greasy

Whew! Thanks for the opportunity to vent....hope this helps someone

Biosilk Any thing - for me it should be called "Biodisaster"

all neutrogena triple moisture-triple dryness-Great on natural hair, only good on relaxed hair for about 4-5 hours then, dry, tangled

cholesterol-dry hard tangled coated-had to go to salon to get my hair
back together-stylist told me NEVER to use a hard cholesterol/protein
unless I have severe damage. Thank God I didn't

Pantene=SATAN:swearing: to my relaxed hair. It took me a couple of months to realize that my subsequently relaxed hair HATED IT!!!!-lost inches in the process. SMH to myself for being so stuck on Pantene and NTM:wallbash: ---Never Again!

profective anything- moist->greasy->coated, dry and brittle
the pink serum was like runny vaseline

any Carol's Daughter except Hair Balm/Mimosa Honey in winter poss. hair elixir
carol's daughter healthy hair butter-made my scalp itch and too heavy
I used to swear by Some of Marguerite's Magic, but over time, too heavy and stopped working unless mixed into DC. If I get "pressed" as a last resort, I may use SOMM again in the Winter when my hair tries to go into shock.
Hair Milk felt good at first but after a day, made my hair hard
Carol's daughter Khoret Amen hair smoothie- made my hair hard ,dry, TANGLED IRRITATED MY SCALP$20 for that little jar of evil? Marched that crap RIGHT back into Sephora for my full refund.

Any Hair Color/Rinse -Ive been every color I always wanted to be , foil, streaks, chunks, whole head. Dryness/ Porous Ends/Breakage are inevitable for me with color. For the rest of my life I will remain satisfied with the color God gave me. Ain't Playing that game no 'mo

Henna- used it as a natural- had some allergic reaction to it  my scalp itched like crazy for weeks--and it took about 3 months to get my scalp/hair to stay moisturized /lose the hard coating and softness to come back. I wouldn't dare go near it with my relaxed hair

organic root stimulator- I wanted to believe the hype.....
none of the products gave me lasting results

capilo conditoners=my new dominican pre clarifying poo.
Whale Sperm, Sabila, Canela y Suela:
I learned a new equation:
vaseline/petrolatum+mineral oil+lanolin + a little bit of what I need way down the list= Why in the Hi Diddly Ho Heck did I pay shipping for this? I could get dry hard hair for at the most 99 cents by going to CVS!!

Hollywood Carrot Oil (in the jar)-WONDERFUL on natural HORRIBLE on Relaxed hair
Mineral oil- except for Keracare conditioners & I still have to watch it with these.

I drank the Kool Aid and Had the entire Keracare Line because I have an affirm lye relaxer:
Keracare leave in: very concentrated. cant distribute a dime size amount in my hair, just doesnt work 4 me . even on dry hair

Keracare oil Moisturizer lotion. thick greasy mineral oil the next day hair dried out. My hair drinks up product, so I cant use something so thick so sparingly. It doesn't distribute through my hair.

I love Keracare setting lotion and the foam used with silken seal, but they have been drying my hair out. I stopped using it, and didn't need to moisturize my hair for a week:p . Instead I used Elucence MB as a leave in and Protective barrier balm.

Infusium, Liv, Pink Oil Moisturizer, Yatta Yatta, LOL

I probably will not purchase:
*Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo - it's good for clarifying, but it made my hair too hard
*Keracare Super Reconstructor was too expensive and works no better than cheaper brands

CON shampoo
Any oil based hair lotions
Any product that lists mineral oil or/and petroleum as main ingredients.

I would not use:

  • Motions hair products: leaves my hair dry and very tangled
  • VO5 conditioner: I would rather just spend $1.25 more and get the Suave conditioners
  • Pink oil moisturizer: Sucks! Sucks! Sucks!
  • ORS carrot oil: To heavy for my hair and left my hair feeling greasy
  • Dove Shampoo/ Conditioner: Hair was very tangled and dry after using the shampoo and the conditioner left my hair mushy and way too soft
  • Emergeence: For some reason my hair doesn't feel stronger after I've used it. I just dilute Aphogee in my favorite conditioner as a light protein treatment.

Pantene Relaxed & Natural stuff - the regular Pantene stuff works fine for me.

Pink Oil Moisturizer - gosh...how do they stay in business?

Garnier Fructis - the conditioner is okay, but that leave in stuff and the shampoo, no thank you.

Kemi Oyl - my hair laughs at it.

Motions relaxer - I was getting touch ups every 4 weeks.

Sheenique relaxer - Getting touch ups every 3 weeks.

I'm sure there's more...just can't think of them yet...
