List Products You Will NEVER Use Again

Y'all have had me cryyyyyyyyyyying with this thread! The venom! The disdain! The drama!!! Awwww man!

I gotta co-sign on the Luster's Pink Lotion...that is just a crime against black people right there!

But my lil head loves some of the hated products! Love NTM, Elasta QP Mango Butter, Aphoghee has been a life saver for my head in terms of breakage...and folks are hating on the Keracare Humecto! Stop playing! Use the HUMECTO IN THE TUB (thick and creamy) NOT THE BOTTLE (I heard that ish was watery and non-effective)!

My latest misadventure in hair products happened when I tried Tigi Bed Head Chocolate Head hair repair treatment. It sucked big time. My hair was not moisturized at all after I used it, and it was tangly and hard to comb through. I will never use it again.

Thx for the big heads up! I saw this and I was wondering about this product.

Humecto is so expensive though! Where can someone buy the tub in NYC?

What was the matter with these products and which ones did you use? Did they leave your hair crunchy, etc?

I used the curly line and the hydrating/moisturizing line. It made my hair feel stripped and brittle. Plus the scents was too strong. I mean I love lavender but those line it was overkill. One of the leave-in acted like ORS Shea Butter and I was so horrified on how it left my hair. So dry and stiff feeling, it was unnatural. I gave it away.

I will never use the NTM Line. This made my hair feel rough, dry and very tangled. The only one I like is the shine serum, the rest gets the boot.

Thanks for the 411. What leave in do you use instead?

Cosigning on this. The deep conditioner was alright until it washed out. Then my hair felt dry.

A few of the dominican conditioners left my hair dry, like the Tropical one and the olive oil one...
Thx Blax. I was just wondering, because I used to swear by dominican products and like I said when I started this thread...I'm just not that impressed anymore.

Infusium 23
everything by "Black Like Me"
Everything by Elasta QP
Affirm Relaxers
Body Shop conditioners
Nexxus Botanoil Poo
.... etc

I thought I replied to this thread. Couldn't find my post thought...

Infusium 23 - I discovered this when I first came to the hair boards and I had to throw it out when it kept breaking off my hair!! Has to be the amount of protein content in it.

surge 14 - irritated scalp
V05 conditioners - very runny but helps when detangling hair and smell is nice so might still buy it for that purpose.
Only Profectiv i like is the root health - don't like the smell much thou.
Lets jam - can you say stiff, dry hair.
Loreal nature's therapy Perfect curls - did absolutely nothing
IC deep penetrating creme moisturizer (yellow pack)- didn't do anything
Never liked pantene products from way back
I will never ever, ever use dark & lovely hair color - broke my hair off badly.
EVOO - the smell stays in my hair for days.
John Frieda brilliant brunette light reflecting cond. - smelled really perfumey, didn't notice a different's in shine (but my hair is half natural..so maybe that's why), but it was good when detangling hair.

I actually like infusium 23 which i see alot of you hate
I haven't tried the new dominician conditioners but i like the BPT wheat germ one, that's the only one i found that added moisture to my hair (i mix it with the queen helene cholesterol).
I like queen helene hot oil - lt made my hair soft.

I forgot to say if y'all NTM haters want to generously donate your unwanted products to the MonaLisa/Sylver2 NTM lovers fund...please...give...with your heart...

Breakthru products
Salerm 21
All DR products except Apretadora....My hair loves Apretadora
Mizani purifying poo
No-lye perms
SHS
Millcreek Biotin poo
Aphogee
Anything Nexxus...My hair hates Nexxus
Kenra products..They tangled my hair

Shampoos that have ALS, SLS in them, and there are a lot of them out there. Too harsh and drying for the hair

No-Lye at home perms

Hollywood Beauty Olive Oil Cream- :barf: Never on my hair, but will use it on my hands, legs and feet

Let's Jam- Used it in the past, feels like rubber cement when you see it form into little balls from brushing your hair back

COPA- What a waste of money for this one!

Kenra Moisturizing (yeah, right) Shampoo and Conditioner........WORST product I have EVER used on my hair. The "moisturizing" shampoo left my hair feeling dry and tangly, and the conditioner left it sticky and coated. Will NEVER use again. I have samples of the poo and conditioner (1.75oz) and will gladly give them away to anyone who wants them. I don't want this blasted, satan-made product in my home anymore.:(

LMBO!!! Wow!

At least I feel better about the sample I used...I thought I was the only one on this whole board that didn't think it was the end all ish! :lachen:

It works better if you use a moisturizing conditioner afterwards. That's what I did when I used to use it. The stylist told me to do it that way for better results. Just thought I'd mention that!

Design Essentials Deep Cleansing Shampoo and Stimulations Conditioner --> I don't love every shampoo and conditioner combination I try, but I rarely HATE or FEAR using one because of what happens to my hair. This one I HATE and FEAR. Irritated my scalp something terrible and left the worst build up I've had in all my "hair doing" days.

L'oreal Hair Fixer --> I've never had a conditioner DAMAGE my hair. This one caused weeks worth of breakage. Horrible stuff.

Keracare Humecto --> Ehhhh....I just gave up on it. It has never done a thing for me. I don't hate it (although that weird feeling I get on my skin and hands when I use it makes me a little nervous) but I think I've given up the ghost finally. i won't be spending another dollar trying to get this to work for me. :ohwell:

VITAMINS! The only ones I'll ever recommend are biotin, silica, fish oils and B5. EVERYTHING else is a TOTAL waste of money IMO. MSM did nothing but RUIN my skin (which is normally VERY clear) for months. Flax did the same. Evening primrose oil caused menstrual problems. The "baergello regime" was JOKE that simply made me nauseous MOST of the time. All of that - and I never even get any RESULTS!!! All those side effects and nothing to show for it??? Nah. :nono:

Pantene Relaxed & Natural....bleh....I have it in storage and when I got my stuff out of storage, it will be over a year old...lol. If it doesn't have trees growing out of it, I MAY use it up just so I didnt waste my money...but I dunno...that stuff might have been OK the first time I used it, but after that, it made my hair feel funny....I think it was too strong or something.
