Cooking peanut oil @DarkJoy? I've gots to try it.
Reg'la cooking peanut oil. But it's gotta be REFINED cuz the unrefined you'll be walking around smelling like a jar of Jiffy  . The refined doesnt have the strong peanut smell.

Peanut oil is (for my hair) very penetrating and even a little more "conditioning" than coconut oil. It plumps my strands out and makes them softer and a little easier to detangle. I also use it in oil rinsing with a mix of other oils.

@DominicanBrazilian82

Never hurts to try. If you don't like it, it makes a great stir fry! :drunk:

DominicanBrazilian82, Girrrrrl. In fact, yes, I did straighten and trim. Did I take pics? :look: Well, what had happened was...

No, seriously, I lost the wire to my camera and have been too lazy to replace it. And pics on my phone suck. :ohwell:

I will motivate myself to Staples, I promise. I'm actually in a good hair phase right now, ends looking lovely, etc.

Ladies, I just tried to make a pre-poo/HOT for the next time I wash. I cleaned out an empty product container. Then I placed a tsp of Kalpi Tone powder in the container and filled the rest of the container up with EVCO. I'm going to let the herbs and spices marinate for 2-3 days then test it out.

Sounds yummy :lick:
When you warm it that'll make it really effective

Is it better to prepoo shampoo then deep condition your hair? Or do you see better results by mixing prepoo with deep conditioner and then shampooing?

My results are the same, assuming that, if I shampoo first, I deep under a heat cap for at least 20 mins. I have low porosity hair, so I have to give my deep enough time to really get into my strands.

For my life, it's easier to deep overnight pre-shampoo. because I have a 2 year old. Once I'm out the shower, I have a hard time getting back in.

I'm not sure what you mean by mixing prepoo with conditioner. Deep conditioner can be your prepoo, though sometimes I mix it with oils.

Yesterday..Did a pre with Soultincals kink drink on my scalp & on the length Kizuri passion fruit palm hair milk...Once I rinsed hair was soft/ready for my wash/dc routine...

Happy Hair Growing!

Hey ladies, so I'm 16 post and I'll be relaxing my hair this Sunday or Mon but in the mean time I want to wash and deep condition it with a protein and a moisturizing conditioner..

Would it be too much for me to do a prepoo for 25 min, then wash and use Joico Kpak conditioner for 5 min (as recommended)
And then 45 min with the ORS replenishing conditioner?

My hair texture is a 4B and I'm dealing with a lot of new growth and relaxed ends that need some TLC to curb the shedding.

Also what are your thoughts in using jbco in a prepoo?

I'll be out of hazelnut oil soon and I'm not sure what oil I should try next or if I should just stick with hazelnut oil for optimum results. Any ideas?

I'm sure you've already done whatever you were going to do. But I wanted to let you know that I am currently 19 weeks post and I always prepoo, wash, in-shower protein and DC. It's takes some strength to set angle that new growth, but at least it's moisturized!

JBCO is thick; but its also very enriched and I've mixed it with other oils to prepoo (scalp only). AVG works wonders as a long-term stretch prepoo FemmeFatale

tonight i am using vatika oil and dr miracles curl care nourishing conditioner. I love this conditioner!

Dominanbrazil82 thanks for the advice! I ended up making a prepoo mix with coconut oil, JBCO, sweet almond oil and VO5 coconut conditioner. I kept it in for 1 hrs and my hair was like butter when it came time to wash, no tangles and it my hair felt good :yep:

What is AVG?

Pre-pooed with the rest of my ORS mayo mixed with olive oil, coconut oil, a generous helping of honey, a few drops of peppermint oil, and cayenne extract. I let it sit for a few hours, then washed. My hair felt so good. I'll try this concoction again next week without ORS.

Pre-poo'd overnight with coconut oil. This is my favorite/staple/HG brand coconut oil. Freaking love the stuff!!

Is there a difference between HBCO and JBCO. I notice that people use them interchangeably. Is there a obvious difference in potency?

EnExitStageLeft good question!
I had to go check to be sure. I got the extra dark jbco. It def seems thicker and of course, darker in color. I added some coconut oil and jbco to the last of my hbco so I cant tell for sure but the hbco has a slightly different smell to me. The only reason I mixed is to stretch out the last of my hbco. Love this stuff

You have them both too right? What do you think?
