How you gonna have that pic in your avi, but not have an album???!!!! Girl, GIMME YOUR HAIR! The color and everything! Just lovely!
 
FINALLY! Jeez! I was waitign to se ehow u did that! You ever thought about coloring hair as a side job? You have soem of the wildest color jobs! I wanna try some colors but Im not that brave. It looks great on you!
 
You could so pull of that"old school" kelis color with the pink and blonde!!! I'm not a HUGE fan of crazy hair colors, or the color pink, but I thought that color looked amazing!

Is the 'finally' for how long I took to update my website? :lol: It took so long due to a combination of lazyness, being slightly traumatised after the whole 'braids' incident, and trying to redesign the site but some flash/javascript interaction thing not working.
I have thought about colouring hair as a side job actually. But, I think I'd have to get qualified. Also, I'm more scared about frying other people's hair off than my own!
I've always wanted to dye my hair lots of colours and felt 'deprived' when I was relaxed becasue I couldn't (double processing etc.) So I'm doing it all now!

I'm a bit confused by this one myself. Because I always thought my hair grew slowly. I've been thinking that maybe my relaxed ends aren't fully gone. But my hair is curliest at the ends, so that can't be it. But my last relaxers were so crappy my hair could have fully reverted I suppose.
I've been thinking about cutting some more off, just to make sure, but I need the length right now.

You know, I was just thinking how my hair loooks a bit like this one of Kelis's do's:

Kelis has had some awesome colours but I'm worried that if I tried something similar, I might look a bit like a clown.
Plus, bleaching my hair is tricky (due to the fact I'm highly uncoodinated), I'm not sure I could do all my hair (I was never very good at relaxing it all anyway!).
 
Wow, I love your hair. The cut and color are great.

I will definitely be stalking your blog to see if you dye it blue. (something I always wanted but never had the courage to do)
 
Lately I've been seeing the craziest color combo's on some ladies...the thing is that it looks really cute! (I thought that golden-pink combo was especially cute)

Oh my, you do have pics! If it's not fotki or yahoo, I don't know bother manuevering (sp?) in an album. Very nice!

MissMarie, I have so many colours lined up I don't know which to do first! I will be doing blue at some point though!
If you always wanted to do it, I say go for it! Hair grows back. I had a look at your album. Are you still transitioning? Are you planning on doing a BC? If so, you could dye the tips of your hair. That way, if they get damaged you don't need to worry about it because they'll be coming off anyway. Love your hair BTW.

saw the new pics and updates WTG. I always liked Kelis' do w. the blond top and the brown/black, I also like the super red that I see around. I'm worried about trying it though b/c I want to get some more length and get to my big hair goal 1st.
 
Lucia, I like really bright red too.
But the only colour that would ever work on my black hair was red, so I'm a bit bored of it.
Red is always hard to out (it might never wash out of bleached hair fully) so if I do it, it'll probably when I've done all the other colours I want to do.
I had a 'length vs dye' dilemma. I decided as my hair isn't long yet, I'll dye first, then when I've got it out of my system I'll concentrate on length goals.
But if I can do both at the same time, even better!
 
When I read about the first bleach, I was concerned about the red, but I love the blonde now. It's very cute. I'm scared to even do a semi-perm color on my hair. ;)

Cheleigh, I was scared too.
But then I thought, lots of LHCF ladies manage to maintain healthy hair and grow it long with relaxers. So, unless I don't take care of it, or I have very weak hair, I should be still be able to grow it out with a bit of bleach. (Which, AFAIK, is a weaker chemical than a relaxer)

Duh, don't know why I didn't think of that. That's a great idea though.
I've never used bleach or permanent color before, but I guess it doesn't really matter if I mess up (as long as I don't do something ridiculously horrible).
Now I just need to find something subtle enough to be appropriate at work, or place it so its easy to hide in a bun. Wish I would have been more adventurous during school.

Your plans for color sound exciting. I will definitely be checking your blog.

I love her hair also. I was tryna look at pix for the longest, but didnt realize the pix were in the blog. Your natural hair is beautiful.

Ambitious1013, your hair colour is great too!

I'm starting to dislike my new hair colour though. I think as the brown has washed out it's got more orange, but it's blonde nearer the roots, and black at the roots as it's grown a bit! So it's looking a bit bad, especially in the mornings before my CO wash when my curls are flat/frizzed out/sticking up in random directions/looking dry. Got to get that crazy colour on fast. (I think it'll be purple first, again)

I just wrote in the transitioners support that you're "boring" hair blog has been very helpful to me, because my hair type is similar to yours and I was a big fan of dying before it ruined my hair. I decided to cut when I get to 18 months because your length after your "BC" was good and i've been having pretty good growth during the 8 months I've been transitioning (I have about 4.5 inches). Also, I cant wait until i'm natural so that I can start coloring my hair again!!!

You have beautiful hair and beautiful color choices!!!

Don't forget, you can still ruin your hair by too much colour even if you're natural... that's something I have to remember too!
