Painful Intercourse???

Hey ladies. I'm gonna keep this short and sweet as to not get too graphic ( yet, at least lol ) but, have any of you ever experienced ON-GOING painful intercourse??

I've been to a few OBGYN's and none of them have any clear cut answers other than '' use more lube ''. I've tried that and quite honestly I don't think I have a problem with lubrication.. but, for the past 2 YEARS I have been having painful intercourse and can't seem to locate the cause. :ohwell:

Has it always been painful? Or it just started within the past 2 years?

If you've experienced pain this long it's probably getting worse because your body may be tensing up in anticipation..........

Maybe his tool gets too deep in?
Is it always painful?

Yea, you're going to have to be more DESCRIPTIVE, OP...? :look:

What exactly is the discomfort?

I hope you don't have your ankles behind your ears because, YEA, that sh** hurts and you have no CONTROL over how deep he goes :nono:

Have you described the type of pain to your OB/GYN? It could be a fibroid or cyst making intercourse uncomfortable, but if you don't or are unable to describe your pain to the doc then they won't know what to look for or what to advise you to do.

Have you tried different positions? If you're on top, you can control the amount of penetration...maybe that could help?

What kind of pain is it? Is it pain once he gets too deep or is it pain upon just insertion?

it's only been for the past 2 years.. and it's not a '' depth '' pain, it's right at insertion.. it feels like pressure points on either side.. and it seems to go away after a while but, after intercourse i am usually sore.

Your vagina is probably smaller than average. That use to happen to me all the time. My stuff was just very tight. Sex did not become comfortable until after I had 2 kids, and I don't like large crayons, average and smaller are all I can take. I know it's strange, but I'm just tiny down there even after kids.

Y'all just ain't been busted out properly... well, you have the kids now, so you're probably okay, but Mixed... yea, she just needs a real "driver" in there to correct that problem! :giggle:

Have you been with this partner for OVER two years? Or has it only been with him? Maybe he's a bit larger than you're used to :look: and it may be painful? If you've been having sex with the same man for OVER two years and suddenly there is pain, I'd be concerned...

Try outside lubrication, make sure you're properly aroused, mentally ready...at insertion kind of makes me think unintentional tensing of your muscles?

Er...not to be TMI but do you experience pain if you er, have inserted other THINGS (if you have :look:) If not, then maybe it's mental effecting the physical or just his size! :o If he's a larger man, take more preparation time. LOL.

I'm shocked I can give advice on a subject I've yet to experience. I overcompensate by reading as much as I can about what I don't get. :lachen:

I've had the same problem in the past (actually, it still happens when I've gone a long time without having sex). What worked for me was having sex more often. It helped to keep things "loosened" up down there. Otherwise, If I wait too long it starts to shrink back up again...

I'm sorry, but :lachen::lachen::lachen:

I have a child too and that definitely helped. I agree with a previous poster that if it's only at entry it could be fear tensing you up. I wonder why it started though, especially since it only occurred within the past 2 years. :scratchch

Have you thoroughly ruled out any medical issues?

lol blos.. ur hilarious. i don't think i'm small down there.. i'm no loose goose but, i've had plenty of pain free experiences.. it just mysteriously started up 2 yrs back and i'm not exactly sure how or why.

butterfly, i've seen an obgyn but, none of them seem to be able to locate any probs =\

Did your OB rule out a problem with the Bartholin glands (small glands around the vaginal opening)?

wow, thank you so much! i've been researching this for over a year and read alot of stuff but this was never mentioned.. sounds exactly like where the pain is coming from, though. :yep:

Ask your doc for Lidocaine. :look:

I used to have the exact same problem. Hurt like hell. Had something to do with nerve endings as explained by my OB. She was so cool. I could tell her anything and she would go out, research the situation, and call me at home to tell me what to do.

Anyway, she gave me Lidocaine. It's like a jelly. Right before sex, you are supposed to apply the Lidocaine to the outside at the base of your vagina. It basically numbs that one spot so you can enjoy sex.

I'm not sure what happened, but after a while of using it, I didn't need it anymore. The pain just went away.

Sorry if this is too much info, but sister girl needs help.

Let me know if this helps you. Good luck!

thanks girl!! i've heard of this before but, i've always wondered.. wouldn't that numb your partner too??

Did your Gyno rule out any small tears at your vaginal entrance? I ask bc I recently have had that same prob and when it was checked out my Dr. found a tear down there:blush:. I was advised to take a sitz baths daily for about a week or so and it's healed up and made a WORLD of difference:grin:

this is what i thought it was at first but, i went to the gyno 3 times and even suggested that this is what it was but, they didn't find any tears.. just said to abstain from sex for a few weeks, which i did, and the problem persisted

I don't know if you've resolved this. I haven't read all of the posts. I had this ongoing for about six months. It was like a piercing pain and none of the OBGYN's could offer any advice other than going to "rehab" because it was becoming a mental thing for me as well which was furthering the problem. It was in one main spot and I would literally be brought to tears if he barely made contact with that area. I was tested for so many things my head was starting to swim.

One day I decided to purchase Vitamin E vaginal suppositories for lubrication WHICH WORKED!!! I inserted them daily for about one week and I have never ever had pain like that again. I haven't ever had to use them again for pain either. I can't explain how or why they helped but you should look into them. My best guess is that they helped with lubrication and they also helped "restore" any issues with my vaginal walls and nerves. They are pure vitamin E and now I use them every now and then just to pamper myself.
