Tangle teezer

The only reason I stopped using the tangle teezer on my hair was because of the horror stories I read here.

Miss: Blue Roze Beauty Cocoa an Coffee Mask
I decided to use this sample that I've had for a while. I think this acted as a strengthener or it was just not good because my hair felt very hard after using it. I do like to use my DCs with heat so maybe using it with heat wasn't good? I don't know but I'm glad it was just a sample.

On the fence: Loreal Paris Eversleek Shampoo for very dry hair
This used to work like a CHARM which is why I revisited it. Now, it was just...meh...

I need to find a good shampoo because I am getting ready to experiment with cones for the first time in my journey.

Very interesting.:scratchchin:

I've had similar experiences with this mask and the Chai Tea. They will provide ample strength and moisture while addressing any shedding or breakage issues, but they will also leave behind a rough, tangled, knotted mess. I had to set them both aside.

@PJaye

Really?:nono:

There must have been a formula change? Interesting. I haven't bought BRB in a while.

I have several jars of both from before the first time they changed their labeling (it went from being on a rose embossed label on the lid to a transparent label on the container), which was way before they re-branded, changed the labeling again and re-named the Rhassoul Mask. I always get the same results with them, which is why they were shelved.

It is thats all I have been using. Im going to co wash this weekend and try out the babassu oil and mint deep conditioner from the same company. My scalp is going to love it I just know

Please let me know how you like it. I've been eyeing their products for a while now.

HIT: mixing Silk Dreams Shea What with Mocha Silk Infusion. Too lazy to do two separate conditioning treatments, so i mixed them about even, added some jojoba oil, and got inder the dryer with my cap. Let it sit while i lounged, and rinsed to find somewhat "heavy" feeling hair that hung down and clumped curls. After air drying and large flat twists, my hair still feels very soft and happy

I used to LOVE that mask...but when I reordered it and tried it again, it was like it was a whole new product. My first jar was very moisturizing but by the second jar, it made my hair feel exactly how you described. Like PJaye, I removed it from my line up and never repurchased.

Miss: Dominican Magic Fortifying Mask. Just all around no. Maybe I should follow up with some kind of moisturizing conditioner but since the directions don't call for that, I'm going to count it as a miss. If I can't use your product as directed then there's a problem. It made my hair tangle and kind of hard.

NEW HIT

Henna Sooq - Sukesh Ayurveda powder

Ingredients:
organic cassia obovata, organic amla, organic neem, organic aloe vera, organic tulsi, brahmi, bhringraj, shikakai

Used this as a cleanser. I used a heaping tablespoon of powder in 5 oz of hot water, let it steep like a tea for 20 mins then strained through a new knee high.

I then applied mixture through out my hair in sections focusing on my scalp and squeezing liquid through strands using downward motion. I baggied for an hour then rinsed with warm water in the shower.

OMG why didn't I try this sooner, I've had it since last Black Friday? My hair and scalp felt clean and moisturized. I was skeptical at first and took my Eden Body Works Coconut Shea Cowash in the shower just in case it didn't leave my hair feeling clean enough but I didn't have to use the cowash because my hair and scalp felt awesome.

I plan on incorporating this into my regular cleansing routine, limiting shampoos, bars and cowashes to once a month, at least for the winter.

This was such a hit that it turned a prior major miss into a hit

PREVIOUS MISS TURNED NEW HIT

SheaMoisture - Coconut Hibiscus Conditioner

This had my hair a hot mess in the past. It left my strands feeling stripped even when used following the Coconut Hibiscus Shampoo (which is awesome by the way and had my hair much softer, smoother and more moisturized than the companion conditioner).

Well I was so focused on cleansing today that I forgot all about conditioning and was forced to grab the first thing I could find. I was using the SM CH condish as a hair milk on and off just to use it up and decided to give it another shot and used it as a rinse out after my herbal cleanse. Wow!!, my hair turned out super shine, smooth and soft, like after a good DC. I really hope this wasn't a fluke because I plan on using this combo as my go to staple in the future.

Good to know.

I haven't purchased from them in a while due to astronomical shipping prices.

She was another vendor that out-priced me a while ago with her Ship Rates.

I also read she reformulated the Pumpkin Hair Whip which use to be a Fall/Winter Favorite.

I still have a couple jars but will look for something else or check with Hattache and Pampered & Twisted to see if they still have the Original jars.

New hits for me:

Ouidad Curl Recovery Melt Down Extreme Repair Mask - After a stint of traveling and not giving my hair the love it needs, I was left with some tangles and dryness. I had seen this product in a MoKnowsHair vid, and wanted to try it to see if it would turn things around. This stuff is amaaaaaazzzzing. It's pricey ($44 for 6 oz) but a little definitely goes a long way, it's not something you use weekly and the results are so worth it. It's like a pre-poo. I dampened my hair, grabbed a scoop and it literally melted into my hair. Every knot and tangle disappeared. The instructions say leave it on for 15 mins but of course I left it on for like 2 hours LOL. I rinsed and my curls were p.o.p.p.i.n. Moist, soft.. amazing. I did a light shampoo and really didn't feel like I needed to condition, but I just went ahead, and used my second hit....

Joico Moisture Recovery Conditioner - After shampooing I added some of this to my hair and put a plastic cap on for about 30 mins, no heat. Rinsed and my hair was butta. I've never felt my hair like this since I've been natural. I'm gonna use this as my weekly DC and see if these results were dependent upon using the mask first, or if I'll still get great results using the Joico condish on it's own. We shall see.

Hmmm, this Joico Conditioner and Keracare Humecto get a lot of raves around this board. May need to explore.

Neither a Hit or a Miss:
Elucence Extended Moisture Repair Treatment. Nothing too spectacular, but not totally a miss either.

It is suppose to fortify your hair to accept moisture. I think it does that. (At least for me anyway) Definitely best to use this with Heat.

Put it this way, I have things in my stash that are better. The one 'pro' going for this product is the fact that it is reasonably priced and 16oz's.

Will not be on the repurchase list.

WOW It seems this company has really messed up their initial formulations. This and the chai tea have always been really moisturizing for me. I saw someone else posted about them providing some strength, I never got that. I'm still working on the stuff I purchased from them last BF so I haven't repurchased since that time. The only 2 products I have from them that were purchased this year are the marshmallow cream gel and the okra styling cream. I think between this and the spoilage reported I'll remove this company from my list.

Hit
Redken cleansing cream shampoo. ( Thanks @divachyk )
This is an awesome clarifying shampoo.
Both a hit and miss
Claudie's renew protein conditioner. This was a miss because it didn't provide strength for my hair. With the amount of listed proteins I was expecting strengthening but got none. The instructions even suggests following up with a moisturizing conditioner so I had really high hopes.
It was a hit however in the moisture department. My hair was nicely moisturized

New Hit: APB Hair Lotion: I got this in Pearberry Scent. I love the consistency, which is creamy, but not too thick. It left my hair so soft after applying one of her oils and twisting with the hair/body butter. I'm getting a couple more bottles during Blk Friday.
