Nov/Dec '08' Big Choppers/ *2009* Twa Grow Out*

Chosen07 and Ramya, your progress is inspiring, HHG!

I can't believe it's been six months for me!! My puff is looking just a little bit fuller than the last pics I posted. I just started using Kinky Curly products and had positive results. I also moved and I don't think the water agrees with my hair, it makes it really hard. I stepped up on the moisture and I may start baggying.

Here is my update with pics...

I got microbraids 2 months ago and took them out last night/this morning (6 hours!!! :wallbash: )

Anyway, here is my progress.

HHG!

I BC'd July 1st. Mostly have been doing WNGs because my nape is pretty short and I'm not using heat until Sept. I tried a braid out (individual braids can't cornrow) but the nape came out crazy since it was short and wouldn't catch in a braid. I want to do more protective styles to retain my length but I don't know what else I can do. Any suggestions??

Ready to Grow already!!

^^^ Are you against extensions if not, then kinky twists or cornrows with extensions for lenth and fullness. Those only lasted
Me a week and half because me hair was so sort it frizzed quickly.
You can also try twists with your own hair but you would hve to do them really small. I have examples in my fotki.
I've neve tried but you can also try wigs... I bought a phony pony but without heat my hair still can't get in a pony...
HTH!!

Can I join please? I have a twa and hoping to grow a full big afro by the end of this year:yep: I will be using hairveda products, dcing 2-3x a week, cowashing everyday, using ayurvedic oils and powders, hennaing 2x a month, moisturizing 2x daily and sealing with vatika oil. Phew so much work:lachen::drunk:, but to get good results you have to put in the work.:yep:

Hey everybody.
Last Relaxer August 16, 2008
Big Chopped March 15, 2009

I wash and condition every day if not every other day with
Aphogee Shampoo for Damaged Hair and Suave Green Apple
or
Dove Intense Therapy Shampoo and Dove Intense Therapy Conditioner

I deep condition with plain Mayonnaise and 2 eggs once every 2 or 3 weeks.

I apply Parnevu Scalp Therapy Leave in conditioner and I seal it with Extra Virgin Olive Oil

I put my hair in box braids and wear it under a wig. I make sure my hair stays moisturized throughout the day. I spray it with Stay Soft Fro. I wear a satin bonnet to bed.

The first pic was the day of my BC. It was a wash and go shrunken afro. It shows what my hair looks like after 7 months of transitioning. The second pic is a braid out poof so my hair is stretched. It shows 11 months of my natural hair growth.

I big chopped 11/21/08 and here's my progress to date. These pics were taken a couple months ago but my hair grows slow so it hasn't changed that much. I'm still figuring out what to do with my hair since it's at an awkward length and it's cold so I don't want to wear it out. Kinda lost but all in all I love my hair. My fro is getting serious!

I'm in...transitioned fior about 10 months so i did not necessarily have a TWA. Here we go....this is exciting!!!

GREAT PROGRESS!!!!!:grin::grin:

Today makes ONE YEAR NATURAL!!! :woot: :yay: I'm still in love with my hair like the very first day. These pictures were taken with my webcam at work so the quality sucks but I hope you can still see the progress. I have not straightened my hair since my BC. You can see the evolution of my puff from the first page of this thread to now.
