Relaxed hair

Moisturize (every other night), loose bun, scarf/sleep as is. I sleep on satin pillows.

Natural.

I put my hair in two loose bunches, tie with a silk scarf and a satin one over that. I also sleep on a silk pillowcase (new for me).

Straight haired natural here. Depends on how I'm wearing my hair. Lately I've just been leaving it in my bun. But I hardly ever wear a scarf or bonnet anymore. The silk pillowcases do the trick.

Natural.

I just go to sleep with my hair however I styled it that day. I don't use scarfs or satin pillows. I don't see a reason to.

Natural, 4b, fine, medium density, normally wear two strand twist.

1. Steam while in the shower and or spray with leave-in
2. Oil & massage scalp (optional: seal ends with oil and or butter)
3. Baggie leaving perimeter out
4. Gel edges
5. Tie edges down with scarf

Transitioning.

I moisturize and seal (if needed), twist my hair in chunky twists and tie with two scarves. I can't sleep with anything on my head.

I've done this when I was natural and it works for me now.

Almost 17 months into my transition to natural. I rollerset my hair (I either wash/cowash or I just spray it with water and/or leave in conditioner and roll). I tie the rollers down with a triangle (cotton...yeah I know) hair net (you know the kind they put on you when they put you under the dryer...or maybe that's too old school...LOL) and I sleep on a satin pillow case.

(I'm so tired of sleeping in rollers but getting up 2-3 hours early to wash, roll, and dry my hair is not happening!). I want to perfect the twist out, flat twist, or something!!!

NEED TO GET OFF THE ROLLERS....#HELP!!

How long do you plan to transition? I transitioned for seventeen months. When I started I didn't have any plans of chopping for at least 2-3 years. I couldn't take it anymore. I mainly wore twisted/cornrowed styles throughout my transition. I hated my hair throughout my transition. I had an ever present halo of frizz. I workout a lot and sweat a lot so it was ruff. I was so ready to cut by that point I was impatient to see my natural texture. I would occasionally do curlformer sets. Curlformers were easier to sleep in than flexi rods. I would gather them up in loose ponytails and try to sleep on my back. I have to say since I cut I've had no interest in twists, braids or sets. I've become so lazy all I do are wash n goes now.

Natural.

I wear a bun the majority of the time until I can DC enough to safely WNG primarily like I used to, so my hair is bunned when I go to bed and I spray my hair with a half and half mixture of Aloe Vera Gel and water with a drop of Rosemary EO in it.
I get my whole head damp, baggie, and silk scarf.
