Gonna have to change my siggie pic, no longer BSL, :lachen:. Sometime I wish I was that doll when I was little,she had a button on her back for lengthening and shortening her hair at will. I like it short, I like it long. But, this time I chopped because I wanted to dye a certain color but because I have been dying Black my stylist said it was a disaster waiting to happen if I put lifter on .. sooo, I did the chop so I can get rid of all the Black dyed hair.

Not to be overly nosy or anything, but is your hair white? I just ask because I LOVE white/silver hair!! :grin::yep:

If I'm ever fortunate enough to get it myself, I wouldn't dare think of dying it!
 
Yours looks great! If I had gray hair all over, I would leave it. I have a skunk line right down the middle.:blush::nono:

Uuuh uuuuh, I like that. That's how I used to do my dye job. I would take a handful front and center and dye the u-shape all around it (that's why you see the little bit of white in the front).

Well, I've been dying black so long I don't know how much white I have but from looking at the roots, I'll be like 79% is white. I'm kinda excited about seeing just what is. I have one pic with me with a lotta white from some years ago, gonna see if I can find it . . .

Awwww suga, THANK YOU for writing this!!!! I have been at self-war and war with friends about dying my hair. They all say two things:

1) You look younger without all that grey hair; and,
2) Job discrimination . . . dye yours so you can compete

I got wore down and started dying round about 2005 when I graduated with the bachelors. That's when friend no. 1 said I'd be competing against younguns and that he recommended I dye until established in my career.

I turned 50 last year and I'm tired . . . tired of a lot of things. I just want to be me ... be kind, loving, establish relationship with my creator, work a decent, legal job and DO ME! And fortunately or not, me comes with white hair.

P.S. I don't think I am particularly "ugly" with it. IF I look older (hell I'm 50) then so-be-it, after all, I have lived some life. It is what it is ... I have no qualms with being "old" as someone may say. I've got the nerve to think I'm kinda cute and what's more . . . were a person to spend 5 minutes with me they would NOT walk away with the thought of "she's old"' 'cause I do not have an old spirit. You know what, I don't even know the name exactly, because last I tried my stylist and I agreed on a mix of colors, but the best way I can 'splain/describe it is . . . medium to light brown and of course the white would cause highlights.
 
what exactly went wrong with the color? Did it result in breakage? I always adore your silver and you'll be back to bsl before you know it. How refreshing a twa must be especially doing the spring/summer.

Oh nuttin' honey. I called my stylist to inquire how to go about obtaining a color she did years ago. When I told her I had been dying black, she said it would be a disaster to try and lighten on top of my black dye job. Rather than wait for all that hair to grow out long enough to do the color I figured what they hey ... bc it.

I always adore your silver and you'll be back to bsl before you know it.

I'm going in for another cut tomorrow. I'm sick of this black dye. I'm going to get it faded in the back:trampolin and more cut off the top! Now that I've revisited my pic on the way to Chi-town, I'm game!
