Naturals…would you walk down the aisle with your hair in it’s natural state?

After viewing Carlos Santana beautiful bride with her fro walking down the aisle it had me thinking. Would I have the guts to get married with my 4b hair in its natural state? I never thought I would, I most likely will get a press and curl or a weave but honestly it would not be a bad idea. It would be different but it can still look just as beautiful. What do you ladies think? I am sure the guest would have something to say especially if the hair is 4 textured.

I most def. would! I wouldn't have it any other way than in it's natural state. Fcuk what my guests have to say. HA!

Would love to see how his bride looked rocking a fro in a wedding dress. Do you have a picture?

Why not? If you are happy with your natural look on a daily basis, I don't see the need to do something like a press and curl for your wedding day.

I just looked and she looks every bit of gorgeous as most brides do on their special day.

I wouldn't let others comments get me down. My mother does not like my hair like this and her lack of comment makes it clear to me. But, at a recent social event, so many came up to compliment me on my hair style and ask for advice on how to duplicate it, it didn't even matter.

Why wouldn't I if I wear my natural hair any other day?

ETA: I especially would because I'm going to be dancing and I'd be pissed if my hair reverted.

I can definitely see myself rocking a twist out and would with no hesitation. I would not wear a wash n go though. My hair would look all kinds of crazy. But on me a twist out would be perfect for my wedding day.

if it was long in its natural state, absolutely.
if not, no. I have always envisioned long hair to my waist or hips on my wedding day... I feel more feminine. Not about texture or appropriateness... but length.

Probably not weddings are about adding pieces of flair so obviously I'd have hair flair. Cindy Blackman's doing her and that's fine - she looks nice but that's not for me. If I had to just wear nothing but my own hair it would be combed.

Probably not, but only because I wear my hair natural all the time. I'd want to do something very different.

Lately I've been coming to the realization that I will more then likely wear my hair in a natural style for my wedding. Its distinctive and beautiful. Not to mention it will set you apart from the pack since most go for the straight ideal. I will likely be rocking some sort of twisted style.

wow - can't belive chica is 51 - she looks amazing !!!

Also I think we often forget that this was what our grandparents and even parents did all the time. I have pics of my grannys wedding and she looked da bomb !!! :yep:

Yes. I have actually seen some nice twist-out up-do's fit for weddings. I wear my hair in it's natural state 99% of the time anyway, I think I would feel the prettiest and be most comfortable with a natural style.
Wearing my hair straight is a hassle to me, I always worry about it poofing up and reverting. I wouldn't want to worry about that on such a special day.

exactly, the last hing i would want to worry about is my hair poofing up and reverting- i always feel ashamed when that happens like people are looking at me like, thats what you get for trying to be other than yourself- though thats just probably the voice in my head

i honestly would naturally (no pun intended) say no!.... but this is an awesome question
and the lady in the pic just completely changed my mind.... wow

now I can honestly say I wouldn't have it any other way

now if ya'wse can just get me down that dayuum aisle!

she DOES look fab.

i would also go natural but not the shrunken 'do she has goin' on. i would look a mess and feel less special.

i'd go w/ some look that required beautiful accessories and at least one side upswept and pinned back.

Um, heck yes! I love my natural hair and I ain't ashamed my napps :) But when me and the boo tie the knot I'm not having a big hoopla anyway, more money for the honeymoon, ya dig?

I'm not getting married, but if I was....absolutely! She looks awesome...I would get my hair highlighted and wear it huge. Of course, I'd have to have some more length though.

Totally am rocking my natutal hair with extra spice (probably some sort of twist out or rod set, pinned up with some sort of access). Our hair is beautiful & unique. What better way to express that belief than on the day when you are to be your most beautiful self. I would feel like a fraud if I wore my hair straight on my wedding day. When I want to be beautiful & glam, my hair in its natural state, measures up..for me.

ETA: Should have added that I would feel like a fraud because I wear my hair natural 98% of the time.

I'm aready married but I did not have a wedding ceremony. I plan to rock the biggest baddest hair at our vow renewal. I feel more sexy and confident with my afro so for me there would not be any other way to go.
I like straight hair but it's more like a novelty. It looks nice, cute change of pace, but then I always want my hair back.

As for Mrs- Blackman-Santana. How the hell is she 51? Why the hell is her body so banging. Who the hell let her be so beautiful? * runs to the gym*

Uh hell yes! why not? I don't think I would rock it shrunken because I don't rock it shrunken any day, that leads to tangles. If I could rock a fierce fro I'd do that but again not WnG shrunken type thing unless I had tons of hair and it would have some type of weight to avoid tangles. I'd def am wearing my hair natural in some sort of beautiful style. I love my hair and my man loves my hair *** everyone else they just mad cause their too scared to do it hmpfh. And if they don't like it, by all means, don't come!

Probably not..My go to style is a wash n go..so I would want it long and straight..to show my length but I wouldn't want to sweat it out..so I'd probably opt for a weave..Plus if we are going to the beach after for the honeymoon..I'd def go with a weave...
