Naturals…would you walk down the aisle with your hair in it’s natural state?

why wouldnt i? i went natural for a reason and showing it off and being proud of it was one of them.

I did. Why wouldn't I? I wore my hair in a curly puff with a simple white satin band. It was more beautiful to me than the typical roller wrap or press that many of the female guests wore, and very elegant and distinctive.

At first thought, my response is no. I didn't have a natural hair style for my wedding, and looking back I still would not have done so given my venue, dress etc. (I believe I was perfect on that day :-)) Anywhoo, if I were getting married on a cliff or beach or something, then I might consider it.

I would be awesome if you posted a wedding pic if you don't mind. Give us some inspiration.

These aren't the best pics but it's what I have on my computer. I wore twists hanging down because I wanted to wear a tiara and I didn't like how my hair looked pinned up w/the dress and everything. I looked too naked or something. Anyway in the 2nd pic the light is bad behind us but I think it shows the curls in my twists the best.

Man I need to get back to that weight.

gorgeous!

Her hair is awesome! I wear my natural hair majority of the time. So, if and when I do get married, I will rock my natural hair. I mostly wear twists, so I will definitely try a different style.

If I had it to do over again, I would still wear the same updo. I do not think my natural afro would have worked well for my wedding day look. Had I been natural at the time, I could picture a twist out updo or some sort of braid style but I think an afro would look best on me if we had a beach wedding.

Even though I don't plan on having a wedding when I get married, I mos def would rock my natural hair on the day. It probably would be a twist out or braided updo.

If that's what I wanted to do...I most certainly would (and I did). We were both living in Hawai'i when I met and married my DH. We got married at sunset on the beach in Waikiki on Valentines Day. I was barefoot, I wore a haku lei in my hair and a traditional hawaiian style wedding gown.

Usually as women we are raised to be caregivers with the desire to please and nurture instilled in us from the beginning. I love taking care of my family but that doesn't mean I can't love and spoil myself especially on what I consider to be my special days (my birthdays & my wedding day).

Now I didn't mean to get so deep, but I say nevermind the naysayers and the haters (you'd be hard pressed to please them all anyway). When it's their turn they can do what they want at their own wedding. They can't have both their turn and your turn that's just greedy! Shoot, I'm thinking of heading to Vegas and going all Pam Grier and rockin' a fro and a kick a$$ outfit for our 30th. Of course things may not be hangin' like they used to by then, I'll just pick 'em up and toss them over my shoulders if I have to :lachen: but whatevah!

Absolutely, I think my puff looks regal, hence it's able to look good in any venue. I get the MOST compliments on my hair in a puff/natural state.

I'm not sure, haven't thought about it much. I will probably wear a bun because I plan on wearing a veil.

But maybe a bantu knot out at the reception

are you gonna bun the bantu knot out and then take it out? how are you gonna go from a bun to a bantu knot out on the same day?

i'm going to have a long wedding :look:

 but really i didn't even think of this obvious problem. Hmm well maybe i can make a bun of bantu knots? maybe I'll do pincurls instead

I have done a double twisted bun before and all that is a really big bantu knot.

Getting married soon and have no clue what to do with my hair yet:ohwell:

you want the pictures to look how you intended in the first place , any moisture in the air and any style you do except an upstyle could have reversion

a fall? my fiance laughed at this, and I probably wouldn't but it's something I seriously thought about :perplexed:

I wasn't natural when I got married. (I didn't know any better) but if I were just getting married now, I would definitely go natural.

More then Likely yes.... I sure will..If not I will get braids in an up do.. that way I won't have to worry about reversion during the wedding, reception..or honeymoon :look::giggle:
