Naturals…would you walk down the aisle with your hair in it’s natural state?

I walked down the aisle with my hair in a cornrowed bun. If I renew my vows in a few years, I'll probably have it in 2 strand twists or a puff.

I wont be wearing my hair totally naturall.I want to see my hair hanging down my back of my gown in my pictures. My hair will probably be kinky straight tho.

I definitely plan to wear my hair in it's natural state on my wedding day. Maybe a twistout or something with tiny cornrows in the front.

Ok I am confused now. what do you mean by natural? I am guessing it is subjective here cause by natural I mean my real hair and no chemicals, the style I will decide when that time comes.

Um, of course!
Why wouldn't I?
And who gives a crap about the guests? It's YOUR bloody wedding!
Of course it would look lovely. Why wouldn't it, just coz it's a '4' texture?
Jeez. :-/

I love my natural hair, but I straighten it for my wedding day. I wear my hair natural 98% of the time. I wanted to do something different, so I had a press and curl. In this day and age, I see lots of naturals on their wedding day. I think it is a lot more common.

I rocked MBL not-so micro braids when I got married 9 years ago, which was in an updo for the ceremony and down for the reception. Loved it; it was so easy and chic-looking.

For our 10 year anniversary next year, we're having a vow renewal and huge party, and I DEFINITELY plan to wear my natural hair. I just hope I have enough length by then to off-set the inevitable shrinkage! lol

Yes. I have actually seen some nice twist-out up-do's fit for weddings. I wear my hair in it's natural state 99% of the time anyway, I think I would feel the prettiest and be most comfortable with a natural style.
Wearing my hair straight is a hassle to me, I always worry about it poofing up and reverting. I wouldn't want to worry about that on such a special day.

And this my dear, is what happened to me. I went and got a straight updo with tendrils. My curls dropped and I just didn't look like me. I don't like my pictures because of it.

I really wish I would have just done my own hair. I didn't trust myself. I'm pretty talented with updos and could have done a fierce look.

I would and did. I wore 2 strand twists on my wedding day. That was my main style then, I just rollerset them to give them some bounce and that was it.

Um, can we get her regimen and workout routine please. Dang, 51. I'm ashamed over here with this holiday weight I have put on.

This may sound silly but the only way I would wear my hair in its natural state is if I've acheived my goal length by that time. (I've had the hair style in my head for years and have no desire to stray from it) It is a straight style but If my length is where I want it, acheiving that look from a press is not a problem.

However if it's not at goal length by that time there will be micros worn that day hehehe :)

I would be awesome if you posted a wedding pic if you don't mind. Give us some inspiration.

I would likely choose a natural style. The only exception would be if FH asked me to deviate. I would consider his opinion. :afro:

I am already married but it really depends on DH. I would take him to help me pick out a dress, so I am sure I'd like his opinion on a hairstyle. I wear my hair natural everyday so I think it would only be fitting to have my hair natural on our wedding day.

I could't imagine doing it any other way! I'm already married, but when we renew our vows it's going to be a big party with dancing! I feel my best and the most carefree with my kinky hair.

I will and I am. I want something different. I want an elegant puff or twist out.

I like the concept of this style, with MY hair. Maybe with a twist out with bangs? Or a majestic puff.

...either that or some kind of updo...maybe with twists incorporated

Um, heck yes! I love my natural hair and I ain't ashamed my napps But when me and the boo tie the knot I'm not having a big hoopla anyway, more money for the honeymoon, ya dig?

girl, me too...i want a simple ceremony with just close fam & then me & him will dip off and go to greece for a week lol

I faced the same problem for my undergrad graduation. I wanted a fro but the cap wouldn't fit/stay on. So I straightened.

I want to wear a veil and I imagine that a veil would not fall right with my fro...so I would probably straighten my hair instead of a fro.

Also, my fros aren't too elegant and length is important to me, especially in pictures.

So the alternative would be a twistout that is apl. I would feel comfortable at that length.
