Naturals…would you walk down the aisle with your hair in it’s natural state?

I really don't know about that. I'd have to see how much hair is on my head first. FH has stated a preference for a straight style, but I'm not entirely sold. We'll see.

i want my hair as big as it can get on my wedding day... i want a full blown chaka khan/diana ross moment going on lol

oh yeah!!!!!

These aren't the best pics but it's what I have on my computer. I wore twists hanging down because I wanted to wear a tiara and I didn't like how my hair looked pinned up w/the dress and everything. I looked too naked or something. Anyway in the 2nd pic the light is bad behind us but I think it shows the curls in my twists the best.

Man I need to get back to that weight.

Thank you for posting! You and your hair looked amazing.

If you mean natural, as in my unmanipulated 4b fro, no.

If you mean natural, as in some kind of twisted, flat twisted, twist out, up do or down style, yes.

It depends on so many things. Weather/season, hair accessories, length, husband's request, etc...

I'll have to try out multiple styles before I decide.

She does not look 51 at all!! She looks good! I would have done something a little more special than wear it as is like that. I would have donned some accessories of some kind. I don't like the way she wore it not because it was natural but because it looked like an everyday style she could have worn w jeans and a t-shirt.

:look:Maybe. If it was huge and it looked better with the vibe I was creating than straight hair. But usually when I have a major event I like long, flowing, shiny hair, and if my hair is anywhere near WL-HL, you better believe I'm straightening it and showing off all that hard work:grin:!

I didn't (and I was natural then), only because I wore my hair in natural styles 98% of the time. So for my wedding day, I wanted to switch it up and do something different. I luv seeing pictures of natural brides, though.

I wouldn't even consider it as an option.... All of the bridal party including myself will have weave that will be curled and style in Greek options (I am have a Greek wedding). I am wearing a weave b/c I dont wanna have to worry about my hair on the honeymoon! :-D

natural, but in an updo. i can't do a press. i would worry too much about my hair reverting, since i sweat in my face, and scalp. if not i would have to do some sort of sew-in or something if i wanted a straight look.

Her hair is soooooo gorgeous and above and beyond everything else; she will have a MEAN SHOE GAME... Ya hurd me?

My 10 year anniversary is in 3 years and DH and I are discussing having a rededication ceremony. If my curly hair is BSL in it's natural state I'll consider it.

My honest answer is no because I started my hhj after I got married. My hair was natural but I had it pressed and curled for my wedding. The thought of wearing my natural texture never entered my mind or something I thought about as an option. I wasn't able to wear my natural hair out until 2009. I like my texture but it's hard to remove the years of believing straight and curly hair is prettier. I can wear my natural hair in public now I guess better late than never.

This is how I feel. On my wedding I want the length to show!

That is what's up with me (but I won't do a weave...not that they're bad but just not for my wedding. I want my hair out then in the pics). I am having a destination wedding in Riviera Maya (changed from Jamaica. But still looked for a place that all the relatives can fly without too many hours, even the old ones and that one is super close).

Greece sounds sweeeeeet! I am going to Santorini as one of my honeymoon options (we're staying in Mexico for a couple weeks before flying to europe and going to a few cities there in France, Italy, and then staying in Greece and flying back). Reason? I wanted to have a wedding in Cannes first and formost (it was pretty!)but opted out for relatives (but my fiance wants me to still have the experience I wanted because the goal was to honeymoon in Europe).

And hair is a HUGE issue as really how are they going to style it? So I thought of the solution of either "bringing a stylist" or I went on destination wedding.com's forum and saw pics of a natural who found someone in the area who can do black hair. But all she can do is a serious flat iron. So I may be straight for that. Plus I agree with the showing length post. I'm hoping to be tailbone by then (not sure if that's too ambitious as I keep cutting it and evening it out and it's btw mbl and wl now), and I want it known lol!. So no matter what I need a style that shows length.:yep:

I imagine I would. But I could see myself wearing cornrow extensions going into a fishtail braid. Or twist extensions (depending on how long my hair is at that point) rolled into a french twist. Or even hair slicked back into a faux kinky bun. Same texture, but maybe some additions.

Keep in mind, I can also see myself getting married at the last moment in Vegas.

I wore my hair in a curly TWA for my wedding. I debated just wearing it straight because I was transitioning and decided to BC three weeks before.
I do not regret it because it was the easiest thing to style, if you can imagine. I just put in pearl jewels and wore my ringlets proudly.
I received the most compliments on my hair, including from the hubby - I was told it really brought out my features. I wore a dress that was fitted and I felt so free and gorgeous, it worked out well :)
I say work with what you feel comfortable in doing, it's your day anyway :)
