J2013 - Bald fade
J2014 - A tiny bit past SL
My hair would be a few inches longer now if I hadn't been so scissor/clipper happy last year.
I'm impressed that you both had fades and hit SL in one year. Wow that some good length retention! share your secrets pleaseHey we both had fades last year!
I am a bit above shoulder length cause I shaved my head again in march and then April and then finally got serious about growing it out.

Pics I think I was grazing APL in Feb 2013 and BSL in December 2013.
Froreal3 did you do any long term ps at all. That was great progress for a "claimed" slow grower. You must have been retaining well. How many trims did you have? My hair is currently about 2 inches less than where you started, and I'm trying to see if I can make it to about the top of your shirt by year end. TIA.
I hate to put my hair away, but I feel that's the only way to optimize my retention.
Girl we need all the help we can get. Unfortunately for me, nothing can go on my scalp. Anything on my scalp= shedding city. The shedding is not worth the growth since I'm already low density. I've done the sulfur my first year, and tried MNS for a few weeks ( couldn't stand the dull headache), I ve also tried hair trigger, HH sprout ( edges only). Hairfinity for 9 months was a real waste of time, money and pill taking lol. Tea rinsing helps a lot while I experiment with those. But I choose to eliminate any topical growth aid so I don't tea rinse anymore.ronie Girl, I was doing everything to my hair, so I retained almost everything and still only got about 5 inches of growth...so yes that is still below average despite doing the most. I tried MN for a couple months (Dec. 2012 - Feb 2013), which I believe got me to grazing APL in the first place. I was on sulfur oil for about 6 months (March to September). I stopped the oil and chilled for a bit. Went back to MN some time in October to December. I started back on sulfur in December 2013 and I'm still on it. I think the sulfur works well for me, so I'mma keep doing it. I just started taking Priteva vitamins in mid-December, so I hope to get a boost. I protective style in twists or braids 99% of the time, but they are not long term. At most I leave in the twist or braids from one to two weeks. I'm trying to do better with the long term thing. I do moisturize and seal every other day to every three days. I dc weekly. Admittedly, I don't trim often. I do dust quarterly though...maybe 1/4" I have layers (front is about APL) and I'm not looking for anything blunt...don't care since I wear it kinky. My ends aren't perfect, but they aren't terrible either, so I'm good. So yeah, with all of this babying my hair...sheeeit, I'd better retain somethin! You're well on your way. I think you will surpass your goal. Your hair is looking good.

I need to get more regular on my inversion which helps without the shedding. I know you had no success with that. I also am thinking about viviscal. I have a 3 month supply (secret) sitting in my cabinet. I am just too lazy to start it. And I need to start constantly tea rinsing to fight the shedding it might cause. Maybe I will start once I put in the braids of twists.

Hey Royalq i started with black tea done under my moisturizing DC. The results were amazing from the first application. I tried a few other tea combination, but just plain black tea worked for me. I think I added some fresh basil I add laying around the house.Which tea do you use fir shedding? How long did it take to see results? Im trying to figure out uf im shedding or is it breakage. So if I use Something to stop shedding but the problem persist then I know its breakage
thanks! I have a bunch of black tea in my house. The hair that comes out are super long, 6+ inches which is the length of my hair. But i never really see a bulb.Hey Royalq i started with black tea done under my moisturizing DC. The results were amazing from the first application. The reason I stopped is because I removed the cause of my excess shedding which is topical growth aid.
Do you check the hair for white bulb? That's how I differentiate my shedding from my breakage. My broken hairs are usually c or o shapes. At times, I've add them as long as 1 inch. My shed hairs are long with a small white bulb at the root. They outnumber the broken pieces, and are always there whenever I manipulate my hair.
