How being diagnosed with a rare skin disease affected my hair
Hey Ladies,
It's hard to believe I started this journey over 4 years ago. There have been some ups and downs but I'm still here.
I was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called Pemphigus June 2010. The disease makes my immune system attack my skin cells which cause blisters all over my body and lesions on my scalp.
The summer of 2010 my entire scalp was covered with this thick, sticky, cap that made my hair fall out in clumps. I thought I was going to lose all of my hair but God saw other wise! However I did end up losing about 50% of the thickness of my hair and the left side is significantly shorter than the right side. But I'm just thankful I have any hair left at all.
So here are a few pics from my journey.
