I DC with conditioner that I 'juice' up, and I also DC with fully homemade DC's, as well - :lick: I might do a caramel treatment this weekend, now that I think of it!

I love to mix LeKair Cholesterol Plus, with ORS Replenishing Conditioner and some favorite oil like an ayurvedic blend, Dabur Amla, or coconut oil.

I use ORS Replenishing paks.

I mix two ORS packets in a small glass bowl with
6 drops of grapseed oil
2 drops of EVOO
3 drops of coconut oil - unrefined/organic
Heat in microwave for 35 seconds and apply to hair in sections
Wrap hair in plastic after application
Place a shower cap on top of the plastic wrapped on your head
Place a towel on top of the shower cap.
Let sit for 3 hours and rinse with cold water
Final rinse should consist of organic honey (teaspoon) and 2 cups of water for shine.....

This DC treatment does wonders for my hair......:yep:

:drunk: I love ORS Paks. I read the whole thread and was starting to get worried that I was the only one using it (I'm insecure about my product choices, so sue me). I've only ever a bit of MT sometimes. I'm tempted to start mixing it with stuff, but I can't get over how good it makes me feel my itself. It also helps that I found the bottle size in Sally's.

I'm definitely a mixer. I like Hairveda Sitrillinah mixed with Vatika Frosting and raw honey. It's so hard not to taste it! I want to try an egg mix one day.

Right now I am using Shescentit's Banana Brulee DC. I sit under the dryer for about 30 minutes, then rinse.

I used to DC overnight but now that I have the Pibbs, things are so much easier.:yep:

Hmm...So so far most of us buy our DC's and use them straight. I add tons of stuff to my DC's. I think the next time I dc my hair I'm going to to try not adding anything to it. I use Aubrey Organics Rosa Mosqueta conditioner as a DC, and it's pretty good by itself, but I've just developed the habit of adding stuff to my conditioners.

I use Aubrey Organics HoneySuckle Rose Conditioner mixed with evco, jojoba oil, and sweet almond oil. Sit under dryer for about 1-hr. THen sit outside dryer for another 1-hr.

Rinse and mmmmmmmmmmmm..butter:lick:

I DC with just DC most of the time. Sometimes I will add eggs, avocado, oils or whatever else. Whatever I do or do not add I always put my hair in a braid throw on a shower cap and go to sleep.

I buy dcs, add things/mix or use them straight. I pick a dc that works for me without adding anything though.

I voted for adding goodies to my DC's but I would have voted for wearing it straight as well as I do both ways depending on the moisturizing and conditioning power of the DC:yep:.

mixer checking in ......I love to mix Aubrey Organic's Honeysuckle Rose with Trader Joe's Nourish Spa along with castor oil, meadowfoam seed oil and jojoba oil. I like to microwave it for about 15 seconds and apply it to freshly washed hair, put on a plastic cap/shower cap and let it "marinate" for about 2 hours.

Ooooh that sounds too good!

i'm using pantene relaxed & natural breakage defense deep conditioning mask.

i use it straight up...alone...no mixing.

i put it on my hair
(usually dry...except for wash day)
then i'll put some avocado oil over it
put some plastic on my head

and let that go from 2 hours to overnight

and take the plastic off.

i havent been rinsing my dc's lately
i like it. i've just been using it as my moisture.

I buy my DC meant for DC-like the instructions say you can apply and rinse or apply and sit w/it for 20-30 mins. I sit under the dryer for 25-30 mins and then wait 5 min to cool off, then rinse it with cool water

ETA: every once in a while I will add something extra like coconut milk, honey, oils, or aloe vera juice to my DCs

Where do you guys buy these oils that you mix with your DC? I mix olive oil (the same one I cook with, lol) with my regular hot oil treatment. I would like to try some new oils, but I'm not sure where I can get them without all the added dyes and perfumes.

Online, mostly. Oilsbynature.com, camdengrey.com, lotioncrafter.com, fromnaturewithlove.com, mountainroseherbs.com :yep:

I guessed at the website names, so if one doesn't work, you might have to google it to get the actual address.

Verifen Complex Advanced Conditioning Treatment (nothing needs to be added).

I mixed Silk Elements Luxury Moisturizing conditioner with Motions Moisture Plus (which is my base), Mane N Tail, shea butter, glycerin, honey, cocoa butter, detanglers, an oil blend and anything else that didn't work to a home made mayonnaise conditioner recipe that made my hair too hard, according to my stylist.

I took it to the salon yesterday, and my stylist didn't complain because it had so much Motions in it that he didn't even notice. Then he threw in some of my Motions CPR. So this is my new mayonnaise cocktail conditioner. :superbanana: Anything he rejects will be recycled, unbeknowest to him. :woot: I'm not giving anything away or throwing anything out.

Cover hair with clear plastic conditioning cap, and sit under dryer for 30 minutes or more if my stylist is busy.

I do not DC.

I KNOW I need to! So it's my priority to start.

I guess my bigest reason for not doing it is time. I don't have time to 'sit' under heat for an hr (3 kids).

Can you get a good DC from a plastic cap over night or for a few hrs while cleaning?

any tips to keep it warm other than nuking it before hand?

thanks!

I don’t add anything to my conditioner but I do a coconut oil rinse before putting it on, then I sit under the drier for 30 mins.
Do you mean after you shampoo? Can you pm me this tip please. I too am in FLorida...where do you get your coconut oil from. I'm looking for some good coconut oil, I've never used it before.

You could deep condition on dry hair while you're cleaning the house. I would recommend you use a plastic cap first then put a hot wet towel or turbie wrapped around it. HTH!

When I use my CPR, I put garlic conditioner on my scalp first. :yep: with some Joico Body Luxe saturating my ends
I always use some sort of pretreatment (Ojon, CoCasta, Vatika Frosting), sometimes rinsing first, sometimes not
With my moisturizing DC, I always add extra conditioner to my ends or some Aphogee EFA.

I put goodies into my dc.

My current DC mix is...

miss keys 10 en 1
AO honeysuckle rose
4 tablespoons jojoba oil

I mix about 16 oz at a time. Half and half of each conditioner.

If you have both conditioners laying around, try it. I dunno why, but this stuff is amazing.

I used to put honey in, but I am just paranoid about the peroxide that is formed when honey hits water.

I use bought dc and doctor it up a lil...I want to make my own using avodcado but that fruit/veggie whatev taste so good...I don't know if I'm ready to let my hair have it. I bought two this weekend with the intent of dc'ing with one...yeah, they still laugh at me when I walk by sitting on my kitchen table

If you have dry hair you should try mixing your favorite DC (I like ORS Pak, NTM Mask, or Pantene Relaxed and Natural Mask) with ***AVOCADO OIL*** and then DC on DRY HAIR WITH HEAT (Thanks Sareca for that tip).

My hair has never made me happier!!! Great stuff...

Ladies, when you DC on dry hair, can the conditioner really "get in there?" If your hair isn't freshly washed and you have some buildup, can the conditioner really do what it's supposed to? I'm taking my braids out tonight and want to pre-poo overnight before the wash routine tomorrow morning, but I just wonder if it's gonna do me any good. Lawd knows I have mega buildup! Either way, I'm doin' it!

Remember now, when you hear us talking about DC'ing on dry hair, we are washing our hair often. If you just removed braids, you may want to clarify your hair first to remove the mega build up and then DC, okay?
