July Hits and Misses Yall!!!

Hit: Going to the salon and getting a gooooood long scalp massage and shampoo. It was $40 just for a rollerset, but the shampoo was so good I will be going back. I think she got every last trace of dead skin, oil, dirt, or product build up off of my scalp and when I left my head felt like it was "breathing." :-)

HITS:

Kid's Organic Shea Butter Moisturizing Leave-In: Makes my hair buttery soft. I've finally found a *detangling* and moisturizing leave-in that works and doesn't make my hair hard. Best off, it's really cheap!(thanks so much Trimbride!)

ORS Lye Relaxer: I left it in slightly less than the recommended time because I didn't want it too straight, but experienced no burning, no breakage and no shedding. This is my first lye relaxer. I am so happy with it that I can't imagine going back to No-Lye. Leaves my hair a little limp, but it has never been shinier. (Thanks, LocksofLuV!)

Broccoli Seed and Red Raspberry Seed Oils from FNWL: EXCELLENT!! These oils are rich in antioxidants and Omega's. I use these very light, rich oils to seal in moisture after using the Kid's Organic (thanks so very much, Ms. Jadu! You are definitely one of my hair idols!)

Aveda Deep Penetrating Conditioner: I was WRONG about Aveda not having a deep conditioner. This is it, ladies! Although it does say that the conditioner should be left on for 5 minutes. I left it on for about 20 minutes, no heat, and my hair turned out great. Soft and supple, not hard, easy to detangle. It's a keeper.

MISSES:

Qhemet Biologics Sidr Butter Balm Moisturizer and Qhemet Biologics Olive Oil Conditioner: These products are way too expensive not to have had any impact on my hair. I will be selling them. Not impressed.

Aveda Hair Potion: My first thumbs down for an Aveda product. I wanted to find something that would bring volume to my fine hair. This "potion" is simply a fine powder. The lady at Aveda Inst. instructed that you put a little powder directly on the scalp in areas that need the most "lift". Well, it neither lifted nor created volume. Hated it...

Aveda Anti-Humectant Pomade: I prefer the Humectant Pomade much better. I'm on the fence because I can take it or leave it.

NTM Silk Touch Moisturizing Leave-In: It's just o.k. Too expensive not to work. The Kid's Organic Shea Butter is a much better leave-in for me that you can use on wet or dry hair. NTM seems to work best on dry hair (thanks, Macherieamour ;)), whereas Kid's works on wet or dry hair. This is another product that I will be selling.

That sounds great! Where did you go? You know you can't come up in here with that kind of review and not provide details.

Hit: Kiehl's Herbal Shampoo and Scalp Treatment for Dandruff.

Expensive, but good. Cleaned my scalp well and got rid of the itches.

You're welcome. I am happy that these oils meet your expectations :)

no hits for this month
but, 2 revisits!

Revisit -

Sebastian Potion #9
i first bought this a year ago, and i think it was just wayyy too concentrated for my strands! my hair was maddd at me after i used this alone! but 2 weeks ago i diluted it with water in a spray bottle and it is The Perfect Leave-in for me! After sealing with coconut oil, this stuff keeps my hair soft, moisturized, and strong. Plus, it smells great! :D

v05 Strawberries and Cream
dang! i forgot i loveee this stuff! (i'm still not over suave discontinuing milk and honey, but this gives me my co-wash fix)

HIT:
OMG. Sebastian Penetraitt Reconstructive Protein Treatment
Stopped my breakage dead in it's tracks. I still have hope in my hair because I was just about to throw in the towel.

Was it drying? My last treatment with Aphogee (the hardcore one) dried me out, even though it did do a good job in the process.

It took we weeks to get it back in order. I don't want to go through that mess again so I am looking for something else.

Infusium 23 original leave-in! I have been searching for a leave in that actually does my hair some justice and so now I am back to my beloved Infusium 23

Ehhh, it's AIIGHT!
Motions Kids Detangling Conditioner. Great ingredients, I like the fact that it has proteins in it etc. But to be honest the detangling was pretty decent, but as far as moisturizing it was decent. I won't repurchase again.

Still Coming Up.;)
Ors Replenishing Pak. This the last one I have to use, it will be the final decision if I plan to buy the big bottle.

Queen Helene Ginseng Conditioner as a prepoo.

Queen Helene Jojoba oil as a prepoo.

Hit: Vitale Pro Triple Blend Reconstucter- I loved it this stuff goes on creamy/sticky and it worked soooo much better than Nexxus keraphix.

I will be using the Vitale Pro relaxer my next T-Up, along with the other steps in the relaxer system. Most of the steps seem to be the same as the Vitale I was using b4 so hopefully I will be satisfied as usual.

Mendhi Raw Shea Butter- I used it to do two strand twist and loved it, so Elasta QP Mango butter will not be repurchased. This stuff is soooo good, it softens and leaves a nice shine. My hair absorbed it well. Plus it's just $5 for a 5lb. container at my local super market! :D

OTF:
Hebal Essences Hello Hydration Moisturizing Conditioner

I liked it. It has a very invigorating smell... like coconuts and flowers. It was definitely moisturizing. I felt my fingers slip right through my hair as soon as I rubbed it on. The only reason why I don't like it is the price. But, for $5, you can get a huge bottle of this stuff so...

HIT
Alberto V05 Moisture Milks Smoothing Strawberries and Cream Conditioner

Who knew? I never thought that cheap-o "Alberto" products would actually give me the neccessary slip i need. This one might actually become a staple. Will I allow it to replace my Bumble and Bumble. Heck no! Theirs not enough protein in this product for that. But, if I want something that is very moisturizing for my daily co-washes (I alternate between protein and moisture every other day) then I would use this.

Hit: I tried deep conditioner on my dry hair first, then shampoo, and then a little instant conditioner. My hair is more moisturized this way.:D

Hits- Lacio Lacio leave in conditioner. When I was in Puerto Rico, the lady at the bss said that it's exactly what my hair needed. I love the shine and it keeps my hair moisturized. I use it daily!

MTG will forever be my friend, it's always a hit

Misses- None to report.

Misses::ohwell:
Creme of Nature Nourishing Conditioner. I used this as a DC and I even added evoo to it but the in shower detangling was hell. I think I will finally just throw this away or use it on my very last ends when airdrying.

Creme of Nature Lemongrass Leave-In. I used this as a leave-in on wet hair. First off, I hate the texture, it is very runny. Secondly after I applied it it felt like I put nothing on at all. Yet my hair was kinda greasy.:perplexed

Africa's Best Hair Mayo as a pre-poo. The first time I used it I got pretty decent results. But yesterday when I used it my hair felt funny after pooing, even with my CON which is rare. I washed and DCed again today (yes I was bored :look: ) without using this as a pre-poo and my hair was back to how it usually is after pooing with CON  . I think the culprit was this stuff. I think I'll pitch this too. I might give it ONE more chance.

Next Up::cool:

ORS replenishing Pak (Im gonna mix this with my DC next week just to use up this whole pak.) I think Imma stick with Motions Moisture Plus and Silicon Mix as my DCs.

to be honest, i'm lazy, and whats worked for me is, nothing , lol , not doign a darn thing

i twist at night, wear a pony tail to work, twist later than night, wear pony to work...heck THAT works !

Isn't Organix the ****?:yep:

Hit: Applying relaxer with my fingers

Vitale Life and Body Relaxer...I made an exchange at the BSS, and since they didn't have my ORS Lye Regular I decided to give this a try...good stuff. It didn't burn at all, and my hair is silky!

Hits:

Creme of Nature Chamomile and Comfrey Healing Conditioner: Very moisturizing conditioner for only $3.99. Great for the price.

Goody's Spider Claw: I typically don't wear my hair up and I definitely don't like wearing hair clips; however, this one lays real flat against my head, so it doesn't stab into my scalp. A definite keeper!

Hit- Motions Moisture Plus Conditioner

This conditoner gave me lots of slip. I never had slip like that before. I sat under the dryer with it for 20 mins and after that i could glide my fingers through my hair. I was amazed:lol:

I just brought three of these at the dollar store, this morning, before I read this. I already used it. The claw is a keeper! :D

On the fence:

Mizani Moisturefuse: It's a good conditioner. However, I don't think it's better than my fav/staple Dominican conditioners as my Dominican conditioners are alot more moisturizing and also provide slip. Moisturefuse lacks slip. I was expecting a bit more for the price. I highly doubt I'll be repurchasing. I'm going to try it again soon since my hair is now relaxed. Maybe I'll get spectacular results.

Hit:

Mizani Moisturefuse
:I was on the fence with this one before but after using it again this one is a keeper. My hair was feeling a little dry since I just had an Aphogee treatment(the big one). Anyhow, I deep conditioned with this for 20 mins w/o heat and the results were great. My hair still felt strong yet silky and soft. I'm not sure if I'll make this a staple but I do like it alot. I'm thinking of simplifying my regimen and just sticking to one moisturizing conditioner and I'm seriously considering making Moisturefuse the one. I'll wait until I'm finished using all my conditioners before I make a decision.

Hit: Cassia Obovata treatment with my kicked up recipe! Love this treatment so much that I had to post it here...I used a slightly different recipe and I had great results. :)

Hit: Sauve coconut con, (as always) Lekair Cholesterol con. Hot 6 oil. Tree hut coconut/shea/lime butter. (That is actually for skin but does wonders in my dry baggy),Palmer Hair silk for my edges.

Misses: setting lotion/mouse of any sort. Pantene relaxed and natural anti dandruff shampoo. HUGE miss my hair said NO.
