HITS:
Kid's Organic Shea Butter Moisturizing Leave-In: Makes my hair buttery soft. I've
finally found a *detangling* and moisturizing leave-in that works and doesn't make my hair hard. Best off, it's really cheap!(thanks so much Trimbride!
)
ORS Lye Relaxer: I left it in slightly less than the recommended time because I didn't want it too straight, but experienced no burning, no breakage and no shedding. This is my first lye relaxer. I am so happy with it that I can't imagine going back to No-Lye. Leaves my hair a little limp, but it has never been shinier. (Thanks, LocksofLuV!
)
Broccoli Seed and Red Raspberry Seed Oils from FNWL: EXCELLENT!! These oils are rich in antioxidants and Omega's. I use these very light, rich oils to seal in moisture after using the Kid's Organic (thanks so very much, Ms. Jadu! You are definitely one of my hair idols!
)
Aveda Deep Penetrating Conditioner: I was WRONG about Aveda not having a deep conditioner. This is it, ladies! Although it does say that the conditioner should be left on for 5 minutes. I left it on for about 20 minutes, no heat, and my hair turned out great. Soft and supple, not hard, easy to detangle. It's a keeper.
MISSES:
Qhemet Biologics Sidr Butter Balm Moisturizer and Qhemet Biologics Olive Oil Conditioner: These products are way too expensive not to have had any impact on my hair. I will be selling them. Not impressed.
Aveda Hair Potion: My first thumbs down for an Aveda product. I wanted to find something that would bring volume to my fine hair. This "potion" is simply a fine powder. The lady at Aveda Inst. instructed that you put a little powder directly on the scalp in areas that need the most "lift". Well, it neither lifted nor created volume. Hated it...
Aveda Anti-Humectant Pomade: I prefer the Humectant Pomade much better. I'm on the fence because I can take it or leave it.
NTM Silk Touch Moisturizing Leave-In: It's just o.k. Too expensive not to work. The Kid's Organic Shea Butter is a much better leave-in for me that you can use on wet or dry hair. NTM seems to work best on dry hair (thanks, Macherieamour
), whereas Kid's works on wet or dry hair. This is another product that I will be selling.
