July Hits and Misses Yall!!!

Hits
Mizani Botanyifying Conditioning Shampoo: Very moisturizing.

On the fence

Mizani Fulfyl Conditioning Treatment: I'm not sure how I feel about this yet. My hair feels soft yet strong but I wasn't feeling how my hair was doing after I rinsed it out. I used it for 15 min with heat. I'm going to try using it again and follow the directions on the bottle.

My report for July (I don't I posted in here yet) :look: :

I'm about set with my staple products so I don't think I'll have much to add in the future except for continued raves. The PJ in me has been satiated by a wonderfully working regimen!

Hits

Hair2Heaven EndAll Hair Balm (that's all I'm gonna say this time, promise!)
Herbal Washes (Shikakai, Aritha, Amla & Bhringraj Powders)

V05 Strawberries n Cream conditioner - I used it for my cowash and I love the smell. My hair had slip, but not too much, and my hair actually felt clean when I rinsed. I was also able to comb it without using a leave-in, which is great.

Hits:

Loreal Vive pro shampoo for medium hair- detangled well and left my hair really smooth

On the fence: Loreal vive pro condition for medium hair.

I'm starting to feel the same way....I think once I get a hooded dryer...I will be straight for a long while....and be a big time DIY'er..

I think I finally have my staples down that will help get me to my next hair goal.:p

...and can I pull a Vixxen...and just come in and rave about the End All again?

I prepoo'd my hair last night, washed with CON, slapped some Africa's Best Detangling Moisturizer and Hair Mayo on my hair....and the comb just glided through... I was in the bathroom dancing off of Ciara playing on the CD player:look:

I rubbed End All throughout my hair, braided into 4 plaits....tied a scarf on my head and went to bed.

I woke up this morning with some soft, shiny hair:D ...this was the best braidout I've had thus far! I LOVE YOU END ALL! You are my boo, fo'eva...!

Hits:
Aveda Damage Remedy poo & Intensive treatment- The poo made my hair feel so good and the treatment was thick and luxurious like face cream. After rinsing instead of seeing strands of hair around the shower I saw only 1.  This set gives soft, strong, healthy hair.
All Ways Super Gro Hair Dress- Great for protecting ends, smells like candy too. :lick:

Miss:
Africa's Best Shea Butter Tea Tree Moisturizer- This stuff was so thick it was hard to squeeze out of the bottle. When I put it on my hair it just sat there. I really didn't like this at all. In fact I threw it away that's how bad it was for me. Nothing like my nice detangling AB Liquid Hair Mayo leave-in. :nono:

Because I like you......you won't be charged a usage fee for that...

Now....Evvvvvvvvrybody don't like mine and Ms. Sylver's beloved NTM DDC:look: (it's hard for us to accept sometimes..but it's true.. mad I grabbed a random tube off the shelf at Target this afternoon for absolutely no reason. It was the only one, so I took it. Anyhooooooo..)

- so I'm hoping you won't experience any hair trauma if you try it out...:ohwell:

*twitches*
*please like my baby*

Thanks for sharing. I just love it!:p

I add about 1 tbsp of each herb powder to about 4 cups of HOT water. I let it steep for about 15 minutes. I use a french press, it's easier to strain the powder off with.

To use: wet the hair in the shower as usual, pour about 1/3 to 1/2 the mix over the hair massaging in. I let it sit in the hair for a few minutes, rinse and repeat. I follow up with an inexpensive conditioner for detangling, your hair won't feel smooth until you do.

That's it, that's all. :D

Note: If you use the aritha and find that your hair is too 'hard', I read on a site about the powder, that you probably used too much. Usage recommendations are about 1 tsp per cup of water.

This hasn't failed me once since I've started doing it. Very consistent predictable results.

Nexxus Aloxxi polymedic - the newer version of Emergencee...
I used it yesterday and like it. It's def a bit thicker in consistency and lighter in color than the older Emergencee. I used it with heat, then lightly pooed it out and followed up with Kenra MC and Nacidit coconut. Upon rinsing my hair felt strong, soft, and moisturized.

Nacidit Coconut Rinse - much to my surprise, this stuff is thick, almost the consistency of Kenra MC. Leaves my hair moisturized, it was like using a conditioner.

:) Hits: Natural Instincts Semi Permanent color in Roasted chestnut.
At first I didn't see much of a change but after a day or so I realzed that it did in fact deepen my hair color so it has less of a dirty brown color to it. It left my hair shiny and the color deeper. I might try midnight black next.

Another hit: La bomba- It works AMAZINGLY after I colored my hair. My hair is totally back to normal and soft after it dried.

Hits:
Silk Elements Glossing Polish OMG, I can let go of my $20 Mizani Shine Serum that I got hooked on while it was on sale two for $20! Same texture, same shine, I'm very pleased. Um, especially since I got in for $4.99 (and regular price is only $6.99).
Letting my hair actually dry completely under the dryer Sounds crazy, but I have ruined SO many styles/sets by not letting my hair dry all the way. I roller wrapped my hair (threw in the saran wrap treament), and my hair looks way better that it normally does nearing the halfway point to another relaxer.
Plastic spray bottle filled with water Made rollersetting way more successful and my Wal-Mart bottle is cute!
Silk Elements Stimulating Shampoo I washed with KeraCare for Dry & Itchy Scalp last week (mind you I also pre-pooed with the same conditioner on my scalp), and my scalp was still itching like crazy. I tried this b/c it was on sale and sounded good. My scalp had a great tingle, felt CLEAN afterwards, STOPPED ITCHING, and my hair was pretty moisturized! Also it is cheaper and easier for me to purchase!
Imitation KeraCare Oil with my own additions to my all-natural blend While I did spend about $40 buying all the oils to make this stuff, buuuuttttt I will not need to purchase any more hair oil for the rest of 2007 (and maybe 08, lol).
Avacado and Shea Butter Blend I bought it to help with some scarring I was dealing with on my face, right? Well, it was sitting on my jewelry box, I'm running out the door late for work and put some on the ends of my ponytail. I ended up with the best ponytail I've had in a while. My face is also getting better.

Misses:
Fekkai Glossing Cream No wonder they gave me so many free samples-- this high-a$$ stuff SUCKS! I could figure out why my hair was so dry, fluffy, and crazy acting until I realized it was this. No gloss, no moisture, nothing but disappointment!!
PJism I'm broke!
Shima Hair I have a confession: Two years ago I bought her book on eBay... I know, I know... But I thought it sucked so bad I sold it back on there for ~$1.15. Then I found LCHF and my hair life's been great! Too, she's a miss for lying like it ain't nothing !
Stress Shedding ain't no joke when you're stressed!

Not Impressed:
Motions Pomade Um, my edges are still unruly! As is my nape! It didn't do me any harm, so it's not a miss.
Smooth N Shine Curl Activator Gel I was trying to get my "sexy, wet-look" on-- and it so didn't happen...

Still To Try:
Beyond The Zone Wax Styling Stick I'm hoping it's like the KeraCare Wax Styling Stick. That thing makes edges obedient so you can stretch a relaxer a little longer! This was cheaper, so hopefully my hair isn't gonna fall out and that it will keep the nape and edges under control!

NIce reviews girlie!

Also, I agree with you on the Fekkai Glossing Cream. I had a sample from Victoria's Secret and hated it!! I ended up clarifying the stuff off and starting over with my regular products.

Thanks! It's funny you say that, b/c when I was done typing I'm like: "Wow! Clearly I am bored. Who is really gonna read all this rambling?!" I got my Fekkai at Bath & Body Works. Fooling with that dern sale, I had so many samples for my many trips! I saw they [those samples] were selling on eBay. Maybe I should find the others :scratchch... It also messed up my sister's hair (and she uses ANYTHING on hers). I've only seen one "success story"...

I frequent the Ricky's on 9th Ave. between 49th and 50th St. in Manhattan.
They carry the line and the manager is so great; he will order anything you like. I purchased my Miss Jessie creme there this week.
