I wanna be APL in 08...granted it may be near the end of 08. Especialy since i havent even made shoulder yet :drunk:

Wow my first challenge, I’m all in head first!

I’ve been looking forward to becoming a part of a support group to get to APL. I started my journey July 17 so today makes it 2 months since I’ve been striving so can I still be apart of the challenge?

I’ve been doing the NO Heat since I started but that is breaking this weekend b/c its my B’Day (and I’mma–party–like–its-my-b’bay) so I am gonna need some heat to hold this bush I’ve been trotting around down.

I have been experiencing a lot of breakage and shedding :wallbash:. As of yesterday I lost a fist full of hair after applying the Nexxus emergencee. I just might reach APL by Jan 08 if I can stop this shedding monster dead in its tracks! Ok maybe not full APL but somewhere close.....

LMAO! i thought this was just started a month ago but boy am I late......reading all the pages in the thread just might be fundamental:look:

I'm in. I am tired of playing with my hair. I should've been APL 2 years ago, so it's time for me to get serious. APL by April 2008.

So: I think I need a good 7-8 inches to be APL and I think I can do that by December '08.

So, rock the f- on! I'm in!

The best things for me are to:

- Do retouches on time (8week schedule)
- Wash Daily (keeps hair newgrowth soft)
- Airdry (either pulled back or in rollers)
- Vitamins (I should be taking a multi anyway, so I'll add this)

ooooh.
i hope it's ok to join this still
i think i'm shooting for
APL in november 2008

i'm trying to keep my regimen
simple, but consistent

will include:

twice weekly deep conditioning treatments
baggying daily (at night)
keeping hair in twists most of the time
i'm going to be hiding my hair until christmas
when i'll let it out and flat iron (eeep. nervous/excited about that)
to check the current length
and then after - i'll be re-hiding it. haha.

edit:

i changed the time frame from july 2008 to november 2008!
thought i'd give myself some more time lol

BEST WISHES TO ALL!

I got a long way to go, but I think I can do it!! August 08 is my goal....count me in too. I hope to reach shoulder length by March 08. I'm keepin my eye on the prize, one goal at a time. :happydance:

Im IN.

I am at collar bone in the front and about 1" BSL in the back.
I am about to texlax so this will be a good challenge for me.
I want APL when I graduate in June.

I am definitely in on this challenge!! This will be just the motivation I need. I am currently SL and I am 11 week posts, and stretching until it is no longer easy. This is the easiest and smoothest stretch I have ever done. I attribute this to deep conditioning every 3 days with Keracare Humecto, using Allways Instant Moisturizer to detangle on dry hair with a wide tooth comb (this makes my new growth and hair soft as butter and snag free), and doing oil rinses.

It took a year and 2 months, but I finally found a regimen and the perfect products for me.

REGIMEN:
I am currently detangling with a wide tooth comb on dry hair using Allways Instant Moisturizer. I then deep condition with Keracare Humecto in the tub for at least 1 hour. I get in the shower and conditioner wash/rinse under a steady stream of running water as I detangle with my wide tooth comb. After all the conditioner is thoroughly rinsed, I do an oil rinse. (http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=150965) I apply Jojoba oil and let sit in hair while I shower/shave, etc. I then rinse thoroughly with warm water. I squeeze out excess water and add Design Essential Hydrating Leave In conditioner and Jojoba oil and I smooth back like I am going to put hair in a bun and then I pull ends straight up and lay flat against my head. I then tie with a silk scarf and let air dry. When my hair is 80 - 90% dry I pull down and moisturize with Allways Instant Moisturizer, add more Jojoba oil and tie up with silk scarf for the night to continue drying. In the morning I repeat moisturizing process and style in a protective style.

My next relaxer will probably be sometime in November. I will see where my length is then and I will be able to better assess how far away I am from APL.

I am so excited. I will be praying that we all reach our APL goal for 2008.

current version http://www.motowngirl.com/content/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1&Itemid=3

Check out the homemade recipies too.

It is instructions for some protective styles. I am sure that we probally have one on LCHF too but I just happened to stumble on this one.

Protective styles here I come. :yay:

Oh yea, I almost forgot. I am going to hang in there and
try to get all natural. I have been clipping out the relaxed parts bit by bit. I will start trying to use a dryer on just the roots after my hair dries from washing. That should get er dun.
