Is Ricki Lake getting a divorce?

I heard that they are getting divorced too and that ricki filed for legal separation. and she and her 2 kids moved to LA. Her husband wants to stay in NewYork rather than have a bi-coastal marriage. I also heard her husband wants her to stay home and care for the kids and she wants to jump start her career

I really dislike Ricki Lake. Even though I wouldn't wish it on anybody, I always thought that her marriage would fall apart and her children would grow up to be terrors.
I know this is all off topic but she comes off as very condescending to me.

Jumpstart her career? Is it in the tank? Her show is still on the air, but they are doing repeats from 2002! What's that about?
I also noticed that the Jenny Jones show is not in our area any longer. Is she off all over?!?
I liked Jenny far better than Ricki, but they are both 2 self-serving h*es who have gotten to where they are solely on exploitation.
However, they are not to blame totally. You have to be willing to be exploited, but sometimes I just felt they went too far and then they would sit back and laugh about it.

I remember when she first came out...she was talking about how it was love at first site for her husband and her and how they slept together the first night. Then, when an audience member says that they slept with someone early, she has so much to say (maybe she suffers from amnesia and forgot what she did).
Also, it struck me as funny when after she had her first child she was sitting in a high directors chair instead of walking around in the audience. She would say "I just had a baby, so I can't walk around"....Umm, if that is your job and your doctor released you to come back to work, what is the problem. You had a baby, not an elephant!!

Not jump start so much as get it in high gear. She is going to be starring in a movie also. Jenny Jones is still on the aire here. Don't know if it is only on because her show is based here. I like Ricki but She does have a lot of nerve talking about "people spend more time picking out shoes than they do the father of their children" when she met and married her husband quickly too. lol you read my mind Tebby. Also how she made it a point of saying she is paying for the welfare people on her show. I still like her though. I remember after I had my child . I tried to go to the store,<it may have been 2 weeks after > and when I walked it felt like my uterus was going to fall out. < My family still believes in staying in for 6 weeks as do I> but I tried to be smart and go to walmart lol. This is off topic but I was talking to this woman about childbirth and the whole staying in six weeks and stuff and I was telling her how I was doing laundry and this girl had her baby in the laundromat <people touching the baby's hands and face and the baby was 1 week old> Even a vagabond came in selling his stolen goods..<worn timbs, socks, perfume and such> the lady working at the laundromat was fingering the products then came and was rubbing the baby's cheek> how nasty is that let alone unsanitary for the baby? But anyway, she was saying people don't believe in staying in now-a-days and she was telling me about a 16 year old girl who lives across the street from her who had just given birth. this girl was not only outside the next day but also was trying to fight her <follow me now> baby's daddy's OTHER girlfriend who was now pregnant by him. That was the funniest as well as the saddest thing I have ever heard.

I think people should stay in for the 6-8 weeks as well (I on the otherhand, took my happy behind to the gym when my daughter was 2 weeks old). However, as to the girl who was fighting right after the baby.....SAD CASE!!!
As for Ricki, she has money...and it's HER SHOW!! I'm sure if she wasn't ready to come back she could have stayed out...she's just too "something", and I just don't know what it is.
I'm sorry to hear about her marriage ending though. I really don't wish that on anyone, particularly when there are children involved.

She also would act like she had the perfect marriage on the show " I know my husband would....." BLah blah , whatever. I never liked her show even when it first came out. I only watch it when it happens to be on in my house. I read a long time ago that she was estranged from her parents as well.

You know she is going to say they are still friends and he is a wonderful father and all that jazz. Funny how these stars make negative things seem envious. She would never bad mouth him in public. I would be surprised if she even addressed the issue. Shouldnt she be on her way off the air?

Well, I've always wondered how her show even stays on the air.
I mean I don't watch it, but when I'm flipping channels all I ever see is baby's mama/daddy drama, or mama's baby...daddy's maybe drama, or hoochie mamas...and their drama. Just drama, never anything enlightening.

I never watched the show because I was never a fan of trash tv. Its why it took so long for me to become an Oprah fan. But, once trash tv became really big, Oprah changed up her show to something more mature and enlightening. So, because of Rikki I became an Oprah fan.
I never really had anything against trash tv. I understand that that's where the money and the ratings are. I understand that the hosts of these shows have to put a moral spin on everything in order to make the show more dramatic and even less realistic (even if it makes them come off as hypocritical in their own personal lives). While I don't find any entertainment in those tactics, apparently they work as the shows are still on the air and people are still dying to get on them.
So, I guess all of this was to say, that while I don't support her show, I don't hold any personal grudge agains Rikki Lake. I hope her family comes through this hard time and that she and her husband can do what is best for the sake of their children as well as themselves.
