Ignorant arsed yt'ber

This child is ignorant as hell she is essentially saying that cause she's mixed she has long hair. She's trying to say any black person with long hair is mixed (even if its further down the line)and if you are pure black you have short/slowing hair:nono: nothing she's saying is making sense cause we know shrinkage is deceiving with hair length. I know this myth has been a part of communities of the African Diaspora the world over for eons, but what bothers me the most is that she is doing hair videos and someone may believe this mess cause she get alot of views.

We know length in addition to diet and genetics that thorough maintanence and finding what products work best for you hair must be considered. The Caribbean women I know with long beautiful hair have all textures and keep things pretty simple to maintain....I know many of the Jamaican and Haitian ladies use castor oil.:yep:

Based upon what you just said I am not going to watch the video.

I think I used to believe only other people with a different texture from mine could grow long hair. Now I know that with proper care, we can all have long pretty hair.

I think her view is interesting, especially about how Americans respond to her hair.

She is saying that genetics/race play into growth rate but its really more an issue of texture and having learned how to care for it and help it thrive.

I see what she is trying to say, but her ignorance mirrors so much of what black people seem to think of textures requiring more moisture.

its sad, if she came to this forum she would still say the same thing. i know that for some folks it may take are effort/maintenance to grow their hair to longer lengths but she seemed like in a roundabout way that being of african lineage has a negative connotation. instead of when ppl ask her if she's mixed cause her hair is so long trying to school them....she basically tells them she is in an indirect way.

i got what she was trying to say too but there so much ignorance mixed in it overshadowed anything she said that made sense. there are too many ppl on this forum that never though they would grow long hair that have dispeled this myth. my hair was never longer than shoulder length as a child, then as a young adult i got close to or about apl and a dominican salon burned it out which led to my natural journey.now my longest layer is bsl and for the first time in my life i know that i can grow it out to wsl or even tailbone stretched/straightened.

....she rambled onnnnnn and onnnnnn and onnnnnn and onnnnn and on :look:. I got annoyed and started watching BeatFaceHoney () before seeing the bread and butter of the vid. But if what she said is similar to what you said then she gets thrown in the "Up Out My face H.." pile with the other ignants kanye-shrug.jpg.

I am too distracted to listen to it all, but the comment below made me chuckle. Ignorance * 1 million.

She was responding to another comment that disagreed with the race angle in the video by giving an example of a white friend that has trouble growing her hair.

Here is the comment:

Rojeana, your white friend may have a recessive gene which is causing their slow hair growth. They may have a (black) family member somewhere in their family history. You may not be able to see it from looking in their face because that (black) family member is so far back in their family history. I'm sure you've heard of a white husband whose wife gave birth to a black baby. Her husband thought the baby was not his. But tests showed the baby was his. The cause was from a recessive gene!

why do you ladies insist on bringing this type of foolishness here? we know that ignorant people exist.........WHO CARES!

My native tongue is English, I know Spanish..and I am trying to practice learning Portuguese..in the future, I will probably move to a Spanish speaking country or the island of Cape Verde just so I can be exposed to it..old school learning is best..my "black" traits aren't profound weirdly..bright skin that tans easily and fades easily..light, curly hair..slight accent..bright eyes..etc..people say I don't look black but I think I do..guess not though..I love my roots nonetheless.:)

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

ppl and their delusions.:nono: ive never seen anyone look more black in my life.

I can't believe these are real human beings...I simply refuse

Just wanted to pop in here and say I'm mixed. My mama is white and well I'm here TRYING to grow long hair so enough said. Lol. My hair grows and breaks off with the best of them. I hate hearing stuff like this and still hear it a lot.

TeeHee......this chick is making me holler. Po little delusion tink tink. If she feels that way then more power to her. We can't save every idiot nor should we try to. We should just focus on making sure the young girls know the truth. If older people wanna get into and down with this phuckery then they were not too bright to begin with. And no, I have not seen the video yet. However, don't worry someone will respond to it and read her her rights real soon. We all know that we are capable of growing our hair to amazing lengths regardless of our ancestry. Unfortunately this dumb bird doesn't know that every race, tribe, or clan has originated from our mother Africa. Someone needs to send her a reading list ASAP. The lack of fundamental education in the black community regarding our history is absolutely appalling!

I guess I agree with her that there is something genetic about growing long hair. Not your ability to do it, but the ease with which some people do it over others.

I think certain hair types can take more 'abuse' others and genetic make up can play a role in that - even being mixed.

I know that black people produce all different kinda of hair types. But it's also true that people of mixed race do too. So I see her logic. I think that she jut doesn't realize that it's her hair's resistance to breakage, and not her growth rate, that has yielded her that super long hair.

That is genetics, even if its not race related.

I think she is as ignorant as most people. I was at a party tonight and someone wanted to know what Chili was mixed with 'cause that's her real hair..'

The girl seemed disappointed, not shocked, that I told we you don't have to be mixed to have that kind of hair. It's like she wanted to believe in unicorns and I killed her dreams. :look:

Black people are in a state. For real. We are so ignorant about ourselves. It's like white folks wrote a play years and years ago and we still saying the lines.

The oppression is strong.

What the hayle???

Any white couple can produce a black baby due to recessive genes?

A feature of Blackness is a "slight accent"???

I won't watch it because she doesn't deserve the view count. I ain't helping this chick to become famous. Smdh.

I'm still over here laughing:lachen: I just watched her video and I'm pretty sure people would immediately think she is black wether she is a islander or from the motherland we are all black. Regardless of how many things we are mixed with. So whatever recessive gene nonsense she is sprouting she can stop it. I grew up with Haitians and Jamaicans and I've never heard the ones I knew think they were any different from Africans or African-Americans. They knew that our ancestors were scattered all over the world and procreated with a multitude of races and that was the end of it. Nowadays people will try so hard to prove that they are special in regards to their race. Why can't you just love yourself? It pains me because you don't see other racial groups getting DNA tests to find out what they have in them. It's done mostly by people of color living in the west. SMH at this nonsense that girls are making for themselves.

no i'm not her vids were said to be private by someone here....someone probably set her straight from this very forum and she changed the settings. she reloaded the vid or something cause at first it had several thousand views.

You know I can spot a Haitian anywhere. Even that dude on the Titanic. She has a very typical Haitian look to me. Sounds Haitian too. Ignorance is bliss and she is reveling in it.

The BEST natural hair gurus with some of themost amazing hair (ie HairCrush) on youtube are almost always from Black women, not mixed ones.

SOME mixed folk are just mad they can't claim long hair against us anymore.

Maybe I was giving her the benefit of the doubt. I thought she was struggling with how Americans describe her and was trying her best to explain the way she understands.

Maybe she is perpetuating this to feel special or 'spicy' black. Y'all know better than I.

Off topic: my room mate in college was Haitian and she would be on the phone talking to her mom and I would walk in and step back out. She asked me why I did that and I said, well I thought y'all were praying in tongues and didn't want to interrupt.

She :lachen:! They wasn't speaking in tongues!!! We got a good laugh off of that one for weeks.
