In older vids I remember she did wear buns, braids, bantu knots. Lots of styles, many of them protective.
She had a cornrow video up last time I looked.
I agree with @Neith and @wavezncurlz. Knee length hair is uncommon regardless of race. I recall reading that most people can achieve waist length to classic length hair. Knee length is considered an extreme length that most won't reach.
I still feel inspired by this girl's hair because she is the first person of African descent that I've ever seen with loose, non dred locked knee length hair. It gives me hope. Also, you'll be surprised how long your hair can grow. My hair now reaches a little below the top my pants pockets and this is the longest it has ever been in my entire life. Just last year I would have never thought my hair would one day touch my butt. So you never know.
I think if more Black women knew how to properly care for their hair you would see a lot more waist length and longer hair. Waist length hair is not super long and is a length many if not most people regardless of race can reach.
Yep. Nexxus shampoo and conditioner and melted vaseline for sealing.
Also, she used the maxiglide to straighten when she wants the straight look.
(I have a good memory )
The reason vaseline, mineral oil, and petroleum get a bad rap is due to the fear that putting too much on the scalp might clog pores and thereby stunt growth. But as long as you are not smearing gobs of vaseline on your scalp, I don't see the problem. In fact, the consistency probably makes it the perfect sealant. It's probably how this young girl doesn't have much breakage.
There are plenty of ladies on this board who use vaseline. One hugely successful natural is Chicoro.
OMG check out this little girl's KNEE LENGTH reveal

This little girl's mom used to be a member here at LHCF (I miss her, she was hella funny) and I remember when she had to take down her daughter's hair videos because people were sending them hate mail and saying stuff like your daughter is not really black, she's mixed Can you imagine? Anyway I was drooling over her hair. I don't know if I would ever want knee length hair, but dayum it sure it perdy!
with all the talk today about hair p0rn i revisited this thread really really wanted to see the video again.
but it's gooonnneee! waaah!
how sad. if i remember right the mum was having trouble w/ stupid comments and people's negative attitudes so maybe that's why? such a shame. her hair was an inspiration for sure. too bad no one took any screen caps.
BostonMaria do you know what happened?
