I need to sharpen my sheers!

There are places you can take them to or mail them off to a shear sharpening service. Depending on how much you spent on them, you may consider buying a new pair.

I wouldn't suggest not getting them professionally sharpened.

oh no i spent $30 on shears thinking it was best to get the kind that could be sharpened maybe i can hustle up a free sharpening at Sally's where i got them

What do I use? Will a regular knife sharpener do or am I being uncivilized? :look:

Hi Shine-On,
you could try using a glass bottle. If you make a cutting action on the top of a glass bottle especially if the neck is chipped, it sharpens the blades of your scissors.

I have a friend who is a tailor and whenever she has her shears sharpened, she gets mine done as well.

I paid around $80 for my pair and like someone mentioned earlier, you may want to consider getting them done professionally based upon the cost of the shears.

@msportugal,

Taking them to Sally's is another great idea, especially if you purchased your shears from them. Back when I purchased my shears I asked the salesman where could I get them sharpened and he mentioned that they have a guy that comes in regularly to sharpen their shears and maybe I could talk to him to have mine done as well. I never did talk to the guy after my friend offered to have them done in her shop.
