I cut 8-10" of my hair today!!!

:nono: My heart sank when I read the title of the thread... But the cut looks beautiful on you! You really have some skills. Enjoy your hair to the fullest!!! :grin:

Just for future reference, after you have cut the hair, maybe you can band the hair together right at the top, have someone help by holding it where it is banded so that you can braid it, and then wash the hair in the braid...just a thought.

It's so funny how so many of us are happy for you but still kinda heartbroken over this. I showed the pics to my 8 year old and she was like I don't care what that lady does to her hair so long as she doesn't cut my hair:lachen:. She was looking at me like why do you care lol.

That's so cute what your daughter said, my girls feel the same way!!! I had no idea that me cutting my hair would break so many hearts!! The more I was cutting my hair, the happier I felt :look:.

I love your outlook about hair. I think that's why other races will cut their hair off in a heart beat, because they know it'll grow back. When you have the formula down, then it's easy to grow it back out.

I like your hair long and short and I just love all the different styles you can achieve.

You look great!!!
 
I can't lie but seeing your hair previous made me cry (well not really) but it made me sad.

But hey you gotta do what you gotta do.

This is so true, I love all hair that's healthy whether it's long or short, to me that's most important, and I believe that women can be beautiful from every extreme---from bald to having hair that hangs lusciously down their backs.

I can now understand why some feel this way, especially when you spend so much energy growing it out (years), and in less than an hour all that hard work is gone and in the garbage can. Does seem pretty sad doesn't it:sad:. But, I'm feeling fantastic:grin:.

Thank you!! I'm 44 and I've always thought I looked better and felt sexier with short hair, it's hard to explain, but I never felt that way when my hair was longer.

This is the dreaded fear of mine with my hair. ITA with you! I hope I can still feel pretty with longer hair, but I have had and will always have this feeling about shorter hair. It is in the attitude and how you authentically feel. Just being true to you! It seems you have done that!:yep:
 
You and your new cut look gorgeous! I'm sure it will grow back in no time, and part of the fun will be enjoying all the styles you will be able to wear at different lengths!:yep:

I was ready for a change, and although I wanted to grow my hair WL, I couldn't deal with the amount of time I was spending on my hair....so I cut it myself today. Will I grow it back? Right now I believe that I won't grow it as long as I had it, but I probably will grow it out a few more inches, just enough to be able to do something different. The only thing I'll miss is my ponypuff, but right now I'm pretty happy and I'm going to enjoy my new style. Pics are in my album.
