GPB?? Really??!! I want so badly to use my GPB this weekend but I'm debating on that, since my BF will be here...
smirk.gif
It's just NOT one of my favorite scents, and I guess I assume he wouldn't like it either...
nono.gif
It's so ORGANIC smelling... I prefer fresher, or even fruity scents...
smile.gif

[/ QUOTE ]

You know I've thought that sometimes about GPB, but I get compliments on the scent believe or not when I use it. I try to use a shampoo that compliments the scent.

This is a running LHCF debate. I don't mind it. I like fruity scents too, which is why I loved Bed Head stuff, but I'm versatile.

As long as it doesn't have Patchouli oil or smell like Glover's Mane, I'm straight. You might just be surprised by what he likes though, men have different preferences than we do. I don't happen to the love the smell of Nature's Gate Herbal

, but I like what it does.

I love when I smell my S/O's hair and it smells like Nexxus Therrape.

That's true!! I noticed that my BF just LOVES anything that smells like Vanilla or Coconut... whereas I prefer fresher and more perfumey scents... I wouldn't be surprised if he DID like the GPB. In fact, I'm going to make him smell it out of the bottle and ask him what he thinks of it...

I never thought about my hair smelling good until my SO kept sniffing my hair after I got out of the shower and put in my KeraCare leave-in. He also likes the smell of Amla oil, monoi oil and the NTM products.

They are not taking orders anymore! The bottles are cute though.

I agree! Hair that smells good is just as important as a body that smells good! It's a sense of cleanliness.

I love all the Pantene products! Don't they smell great? I really wish they could possibly come up with a body wash with the same scent.

I like fresh and clean, feminine smelling but I can’t stand fruity smells on hair (past age 10), or anything that smells edible. That's just me.

I am taking notes hear. I am reading some good ideas. The scented oils idea sounds good. I already use Monoi jasmine oil but I don't care for the smell too much. I would like to smell more like a sweet flower of have more of a fruity smell for my hair.

Is there such a thing as hair perfume?

[/ QUOTE ]to me , the Aveda Emolliant is like wearing a hair perfume

I read somewhere that there are certain essential oils which besides being good for our hair smell good and attract the opposite sex like lavender, ylang-ylang and jasmine, which we can add to our hair.

Well, I can attest to the fact that Ylang-Ylang works wonders. Even when I just use HHIAB, he's always sniffing my hair and uhmmm, did I mention Ylang-Ylang is an aphrodisiac(sp??)! So, if you're not in the "MOOD" , don't use anything with Ylang-Ylang. SOmeone should tell Ms. Carolyn Gray HHIAB is good for something other than our hair

Lavender oil seems to come in second place. For some reason, I've noticed that he loves the smell of profective breek-free and coconut scents. I used profective breek-free the night I got back , and before we went to sleep, he tells me how good my hair smells. However, he thinks that WGO smells like someone just died ... lol!

its extremely important thats why I wash my hair 3 times a week ,gotta make sure my hair smells not good but GREAT!I remember I used to hang out w a guy w braids in high school and I couldnt help but notice that his braids were STINKY,although he wasnt nasty his head was!and when I had to kiss him I was literally scared!!to smell that stuff! I hate any kind of stink from head to ....feet...lol

My husband says I m obsessed w my hair and hair products!he loves the smell and softness of my hair..I use Mango Butter as daily moisturizer or Megagrowth mixed w Coconut Oil.

Since I started washing twice a week, it has become essential -- there's no going back for me! I use a mixture of nexxus headress, giovanni direct and rosemary essential oil to rollerset after washing. I find that the fragrance from this mixture last from wash to wash, which is about every 3 to 4 days.

Very interesting. I had to go and sniff my Protectiv Break Free just now - I never paid attention to the smell before. I'm adding just a touch of lavender today - I love the smell, especially for spring and summer. I don't have any Ylang Ylang yet though... Maybe Carloyn Gray does know about it!

Speaking of stinky, how are all of you ladies doing on the Stinky Hair Challenge?
spinning.gif
Any reactions from others on the smell of your hair? Or are you the only one who can smell it?

Re: How important is it to have good smelling hair

a guy i dated a few months ago told me my hair smelled like oatmeal (i think he was smelling the coconut oil). but now im using this oil mix by black queen it smells like cotton candy and that mixed with the dove makes my bf constantly sniffing me. i also spray perfume on the back of my neck which helps my neck up "smell zone". but my bf LOVESSSSSS the dove smell

Re: How important is it to have good smelling hair

Be careful he doesn't take a bite (or a lick)!

This thread is interesting and making me really think about the way my hair smells. It seems like what we put on our hair last is what counts as far as scent goes, right? The shampoo gets rinsed away and so does the conditioner. So that leaves the leave-in and any other product we put on it last. I'm going to experiment this weekend with this concept.

My Aveda Anti Humectant smells very nice, BTW.

Re: How important is it to have good smelling hair

It's very important that my hair smells fresh and clean. Frederic Fekkai products smell divine! And I love Pantene's signature scent. The products in the Artec Kiwi line also have a great, fresh scent.

Well, the verdict is in... I told him to smell it out of the bottle last night (w/o knowing what it was at all) and he said it smelled like something you clean the floor with!!
lachen70.gif
He told me to go ahead & use it anyway, but I didn't - I used my Keraphix instead...
look.gif
I'll use the GPB in the middle of next week when he's not here...

After my visit to Little India, smell is very important, I'm going to make myself a spritz of Jasmine Oil, so my hair can smell good after the STANKONIA stuff I bought at the Indian grocery store(when I say it STANKS, IT STANKS, but I want long hair..my SO just going to have to deal with it)...

I love the smell of CLEAN hair and so do men (black men especially). I can't stand being in line behind someone with fried hair or strong smelling oily hair. That used to be!

Anyway, I love Herbel Essences with Hawafena and Nexxus Headress leave in conditioner.

Yummy!

Okay, Okay, I must confess, I've always had stinky hair. I felt my hair grew better when dirty. I've always been a 2-weeker or even a 3-weeker.
blush.gif
But Since I've joined I've started shampooing at least once a week and conditioner washes every other day, since I'm wearing the wash'n go. I love the smell of my hair now and maybe I won't scare off any potential SO/BF.... I want to smell yummy too.

Very, very important to have good smelling hair. Nothing worse than hugging a person whose hair smells! Yeck! I use elasta qp mango butter and ORS shea butter lotion to keep my hair moisturized and smelling good!

I used my stuff from the Indian grocery store, I couldn't stand it, my hair smelled like an ashtray, and gave me a slight headache, I had to wash my hair again and use anything I thought would make the smell go away....Warning...stay away from an Indian product called Anoop....trust me it ain't worth it.

so that's why people won't leave me alone? my hair smells like strawberries, coconuts, honey, and vanilla! I am going to get some glovers and sulfur8 and eat a whole bunch of boiled eggs so men can leave me alone.
