Hide Your Hair Until Christmas Challenge!!!

Count me in.
I have a full cap quick weave and
I cornrow my hair myself so I plan to keep it that way for a while.
I hope to get my hair back to before...it's dry and my edges have thinned :(
Dang, no pictures until December? I already planned to take new pictures in 2 weeks!!!

I'm in BUT I need one pass for October-I'm going to homecoming at my undergrad and I want my hair swangin-lol. I chopped it off my senior year and had micros graduation, so 1 1/2 years later will be "wow" factor for them!

You can take them...just don't show them to us or anyone, that way it can be a surprise when we see you're hair come Christmas.

Ladies...I'm sure many of you have seen this thread...but I thought I would post it here in case any of you have missed it. LiLi made a video of her own clip-in extensions that she made. This can be another way to hide your hair (you would only need to leave out a little hair at the crown and braid up the rest).

Just an idea...I'm going to see if I can replace my quickweave with this method.

Awww I'm so glad ur excited about this challenge. I am too. You know it's funny if you asked me a few years ago if I could go 6 months without wearing my hair out I would have thought you were crazy:lachen: . Now I am really excited to do this and I actually think I'll make it throug!

I am so in. I am off to buy some hair to add as clip-ins so my hair can fit into a low bun. I can't wait until Christmas! This is a great idea. I'm also going to remove the image in my siggy to stick with the rules.

You can have that picture in your siggy if you want, since it was there from the start of the challenge. The rule (or guideline) is no new pictures that show your length (at least don't post them for us to see). We'll all take pics in December so that we can see the amazing difference in length.

Let us know how the bun turns out. You can show a pic of that if you want, it hides your length. I plan to take pictures of my weaves and post them for ya'll.

I am really going to give this a try. I am fairly new to all this, but this sounds like a challenge of all challenges. Meaning its several challenges all in one. I just got some of my products and want to start using. I very rarely ever wear my hair up, back or over. Always in a doobie. This week I started(yeah for me) and put in a bun(rather cute) all the people at work was like "wow". I never thought I looked nice with my hair back thats why I don't wear like that. I am really going to try this one for as long as I can. I'm thinking about getting some braids or kinky twists. Keep me in your prayers on this journey!

I'm so excited about this. I took your advice and bought a phony pony and put my hair in a low bun so there's no stress on my nape area. Everyone at work thinks it fits my face so well. When I go to happy hour with the girls, all I have to do is untuck the bun so the phony is a pony tail, apply some lip gloss and cute earrings and away I go!! Two styles for the price of one. I'm so EXCITED!!!

This wil def be a challenge for me, BUT MY ENDS REALLY NEED IT!!!!! Plus, having hit the SL mark, don't want the likkle lengt that mi have to rub off!

Do Carusso rollers count? I have a style where there are curls cascading down the top (done with small rollers in a spiral) and the rest is in a french roll, or a claw clip.

Hey ladies,

I want to wear braids but I am kinda scared now because I think I will damage my ends but I want braids really baddd. What are the best braids to get that will not damage your hairline and ends and you can also wash them every other day? I know kinky twist is out of the question because the ends are like curly and that will damage the kinky twists so please give suggestions. I found some kind of bun things at the beauty supply store so what I do now is put my own hair in a pony tail and then put mango buttter or profective ends on the pony tail and then put the hair that is hanging in a baggie and then I put this little net like bun covering over my pony tail and it is actually sort of cute they have different colors. I tried to make my own bun...didn't come out pretty good besides I want my ends to stay moisturized all day so I guess I will go with the phony ponies and my little bun things covered over my baggie pony tail.

Okay.....I'm in. I also have my own challenge going on right now. I haven't had a touch-up since April. I want to grow my hair out and be a natural (at least try to any way:perplexed) Right now my hair is in braids and up in a bun. I'm keeping the braids in until August and then maybe more braids or just wear it in a bun.:)

GOOD LUCK LADIESS!!!

Yes you definitely can! Check out the pictures of mine in my fotki. I have on a baggie under there. The phonypony kind of has a pocket for your hair to go in btw the phonypony hair.

Let us know how it goes if you decide to get one...I think they are definitely worth it. I'm going to replace mine soon (I've had it for way over a year).

I'm so glad you like your phonypony! It is very versatile. Try twisting it up in different styles, you will be surprised how many different looks you can create with it.

Yes Carussos count as long as you pin up your hair (like you describe).

I would suggest you check out the Crown and Glory website for ways to apply braids and care for them properly.

I follow a lot of her recommendations for braids. I'm wearing some right now. I either put them in myself or have my sister do them. I don't trust a braiding shop to do it anymore.

Hi Ladies,

The purpose of this challenge is to keep your hair hidden from the public and as much of your family as possible until Christmas. You can use various methods to hide your hair (buns, braids, weaves, updos, etc). Any style where you can't see the length of the hair; therefore your ends will be protected.

We will also be hiding our hair from each other (Great idea from CandyC). That means no posting progress pics until Christmas. You can take them and save them just don't make them public. Also when you attend LHCF area meetings your hair should be hidden as well. I know this wil be hard for some of us, but it will be fun and we will get to be shocked at each other's progress.

The key is to never show your hair length at all, not even for a day. The purpose is to surprise everyone with your hair growth 6 months from now, while also benefit from protective styling.

As always continue to treat your hair even while it's hidden.

This challenge fits in well with other challenges that I'm on (no heat/low heat challenge, grow like a weed challenge, etc.)

We will check in monthly, however feel free to check in as needed.

Please feel free to join this challenge at any time. Include the styles that you will be using to hide your hair.

You know what I'm re-thinking this challenge, why not, I'm IN
I'm already doing protective styles and I'd only need 1 pass later in July or August just to update for the HP.TLBN.CLSSC.Challenge , Grow Hair like a Weed (GHLW) challenge, SuperGrowout Challengethen it's back up to see how much more I can get. I'm ordering some phonyponys so I won't get bored w/ the crown glory method I've been doing. This may be the last push I need to get to my big goal.

Edited : finally I'll hide til Christmas and rehide from january til mid back (i will update every 3 months in between)!

I am also wearing braids that my sister did and following the Crown and Glory Method. It is so much better when you braid your own hair or have someone to braid it like you want it. My braids aren't to tight like they are when I let someone else do them. My head usually hurts when I first get them and I lose sleep trying to find a comfortable way to sleep. Now this way it is so much better. My braids are comfortable, and I didn't lose any sleep. ;)

Alright count me in too, I need those last five inches to waistlength. I wear my hair in a bun most of the time anyway, lately I've been sporting a high ponytail. Oh well, back to the bun until Xmas!
