Have you found your RIDE OR DIE wig??

So excited to find this thread even though I haven't read it yet. I'm transitioning and want a wig for bad/lazy hair days. My husband has strong feelings against it. He has threatened to pull it off in public or embarrass me otherwise. But this thread has me excited and I'm going to try my luck anyway.

I've been intimidated to buy one so I'm going to watch this thread closely. Thanks ladies!

OMG how exciting - I need to get geared up for the fall/winter and for those challenging hair days (Lord knows I've had some fails:lachen:). Thanks so much for the recommendations.

How do you get the lacefronts to lay flat? @msbettyboop - I'm definitely going to take the steps to make my existing wigs less shiny too.

ETA: oops another question - I try to work out a few times a week (emphasis on try) are you ladies rocking your wigs at the gym or doing something else? (hope this is not considered highjacking the thread:blush:)

I don't wear my wig when I work out. My hair is braided in neat cornrows underneath, so I feel fine with just wearing my braids.

Just make sure you find a realistic wig. I would recommend a half wig and make sure you do a good job of blending and make it your own. YouTube has a lot of great tutorials for blending.

Here's my post with my Model Model Viva: http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showpost.php?p=16209765&postcount=4376

I wore it for 2 weeks straight. Love it, but it already started getting a bit tangled, so I don't know how long it will last.

Ladies-- how long do your synthetic wigs usually last before you can't do anything to revive them?

Cute!!!! My favorite lasted about two months before I had to throw it out. I wash it every week and that definitely helps revive it and make it like new. I also use wig spray (non oil based) and detangle gently every night. I had to throw it out because the nape started tangling and would no longer detangle.

Thanks! That's not bad at all if I can get 2 months use of it since I only paid about $25. I haven't tried to wash it yet.

My ride or die wig is "Sophia Girl" by Freetress - I have multiples of her in colors 1b, 2, and 1b/33. It's cheap (no more than $20 and the older it gets, the better). It's perfect for work or partying and any other occasion.

I have lots of other wigs, but this is my absolute favorite. I am looking for another wig to have in my regular/everyday rotation.

Have you found a wig that you absolutely love and don't plan on changing anytime soon.

Ride or Die update: *Sensationnel HZ 7048 half wig is great when I have gone a minute w/out a relaxer! Very low maintenance and natural looking. I may have to rock this one for the majority of the rest of the year:yep: I like it that much:lol::lick:

YO! I was just coming in to add this wig! I was natural for almost 2 years and this was my go to wig. Now I'm going for a long stretch and I'm about to order this wig again. Right now I'm wearing HZ 7021 but it's more for a fresh relaxer.

HZ 7048 is ride or die for real! :dance7:

Yeah I just wish it wasn't synthetic.

I've started flat ironing the back of the wig when it gets matted/frizzy rather than throwing it out. I can stretch it longer that way. If I actually put my wig back on the wig stand every time it would last and look better for longer though -_-

Yes, I love my wig Rachael. It's so comfortable, and yes the more used it is the better it looks. It was only like $20, so I had to get a back up in it just in case it is ever discontinued or it falls apart. I still love adding to my wig collection for fun and to change up my look.

What brand is "Rachel" by?

What is the name/brand of your wig??

Hey sorry, its Wig Excellence: Leslie

I dont like it how it comes because it looks too flat, shiny and fake. I weather the wig then chop it to shoulder length. For now this is the best one, but I need to find one like this that looks how I want it to straight away.

This thread makes me want to start wearing wigs so bad. I'm just terrified that it will fly off my head with a gust of wind or something equally crazy .

This is one of my all time favorite half wigs: Super Mingo in Off Black.

I just do a simple braid out to blend my hair in with the wig. I also run my fingers through it to fluff it out once it's taken out of the bag. The bigger the better!

I just purchased a straight wig that I'm now obsessed with, but I threw out the bag with the name on it :ohwell:

One of my two first full head wigs and I'm really liking it. :yep:
I wear less than an inch out in the front for my own comfort.
