woke up early this morning to book my next 2 hair appointments. Feb 8th and feb 15th. I'll be getting a blowout and steam treatment.
I'm putting rollers in my hair at night so it can still have volume. My stylist showed me how to wrap my hair but I struggled, so rollers it is!

during the summer, I might have to figure something out because I don't think my blowouts will last in 90-degree weather

not sure about sew ins but if she does flat twisted updos i'd be on it.

Going to try to do a henna treatment this weekend. I can't live with these greys. They are causing me great distress which will hinder hair growth.
Due to a serious unfortunate event, I wasn't able to do the dye release for henna and it's too cold to try to do it tomorrow. I will just do clarifying wash and DC tonight and try the henna release on Wednesday for Thursday.

My #1 is K18. It is expensive but for me the changes are noticeable and 1 container last a year. It is worth it if I can keep my hair.

Many people like Olaplex which is less expensive. It didn't work for me but my hair is special.

I'm trying Bondbar products from Sally's now. Less expensive but it's too early to tell whether it works for me
I may give Bondbar a try since I can pick that up when I go to Sally's for the AGEBeautiful hair dye. Thanks.

As part of my goal of infusing my hair with moisture I did a DC with heat - this is the first time I’ve done that in many years. I didn’t notice any difference in how my hair felt, but maybe I have to do it on a regular basis to reap the benefits.
In the future I’ll probably just do it in the shower and let the steam do the work v getting out and using my hot head cap.

I really want to try one of those spin pins that cover your entire bin. Goody sold them years ago but they stopped. I haven't seen any alternatives.

Bun spiral

Welcome! Glad to have you join us.

I'm finding that less works well for me. I just install my mini twists and leave when die a few months. Wash and moisturize once a week and hope that everything doesn't break off in between.

This isn't a plan.

This weekend I plan on installing a new set of mini twists.

I also bought new spray bottles and I want to go back to making my herbal sprays instead of using just water.

I accidentally dropped my jar of whipped tallow so I need to make a new batch as well. I purchased some batana oil and so I'm going to add some to this batch and see what's up.

I've also my daily use bottle of my herbal oil is low, time to decant more. I believe this batch has sprouted fenugreek seeds in it.

I'll post pictures after the DIY is done.

^^ I'm definitely for less is more. When I first started my journey I enjoyed doing all the different things. I enjoyed making things and trying things.

But now I like it simple. And I'm hoping as I get length I can make my regimen even simpler.

My hair has never been this short. I did some research and noticed that people who wash/DC often have accelerated hair growth. That is easier to do when your hair is short. Most people have fast growth in the beginning. That's why I'm going to force myself to do 2 DCs a week. When it gets a certain length (not sure yet), I'll do braids. Looking forward to joining you in a simple hair regimen! I'll check in on DC days for accountability because I'll most likely need it. DC days Wednesdays and Saturdays

I'm currently twisting my hair so I haven't used them yet, but I strained the oil, made the "butter" and the tea. I started twisting on Monday, but it's slow going. Hopefully, I'll be done by Friday.

Reset my hair yesterday. I'm keeping it simple.
I prepooed with conditioner to take out my twist.
I shampooed twice, conditioned.
I applied leave-in and get then put my hair into 4 Bantu knots.
Later that evening I installed my twist.
Will wear them for a week.

I've been daily applying a hair oil to my scalp and sometimes massaging and sometimes not. But will try to do better with consistency of massaging.

I have the day off today so I DC’d with my hot heads cap. This is my second time in 3 weeks. I’m going to try and keep it up every other week. It may not always be with heat, but that will be my goal.

I’m doing well with being gentle. I’m only detangling with my wide tooth comb and since I’m sleeping in my bun I have very few tangles.

I washed my hair on Sunday. It had been four weeks. Still in boho style braids, I used:

Amika Shampoo (Hydrating line)- my second use.
For protein, Kerastace Nutritive Masqueintense (old formula), combined with Millcreek Naturals Jojoba con.
Followed with Amika Hydrating conditioner, and let that marinade while I showered.
After rinsing, I squeezed some Adwoa Blue Tansy leave-in into my braids, up to where my natural hair reaches, and smoothed the excess into the ends of the loose human hair.
Lastly, I smoothed on some Jamaican black castor oil and tied my hair with a silk scarf so that my roots would dry with some kind of behaviour.

DC Check In TUESDAY *In place of Wednesday this week because of an appointment
1. Moisturizing Pre Poo- Shea butter, glycerin, castor oil, amla, moringa, and many other ingredients. DC'd with heat - hair was still clean. Have been DCing 3x times a week. Will likely only do clay washes when DCing 2 times for the week
2. Shampoo
3. Straighten hair
