GHLW - Grow Hair Like Weed

currently experiencing a growth spurt- i rearranged my vitamin regimen for the summer. I did have a shedding and a little breakage and a little tangling in the last couple of weeks but i think i have that problem under control now. I didn't deep condition for a couple of weeks and i think that was what caused the problem. Back on the right track now and i anticipate my next trim will be around sept or oct. I'll be trimming by the moon as usual.

I'm still hanging in there. I either wash and DC twice a week or wash and DC once a week with cowashing two times a week.

I'm making it happen!!!:p

Have many of you noticed your hair growing faster not coming it except if wet? I have been doing this and it looks like my hair is getting thicker.

I Sure Have! I'm Getting Big Hair Lol.I'm Still Staying Strong W/ The GHLW.
I Had To Do A Mini Chop 3 Weeks Ago But My Hair Is Doing Sooooooooo Much Better Now.I Love Not Combing My Hair:thumbsup:  My Family Thinks I'm Nuts But They Won't Be Saying I'm Nuts When They See My Wsl Hair;)

Unfortunately I have failed this one... :( too much shedding between, the not combing and the pp shedding... When my hair is back to a normal state I will try this one again because I did enjoy it ALOT... Sorry :(

I admit, I fell of the bandwagon when I relaxed my hair, BUT ONLY ONCE (the almost mishap I had when I did it once in the beginning doesn't count :D ) But I'm back and braiding my hair again. But I think I'm going to extend this challenge a little longer, possibly until Sept...

I'm doing ok, my hair is weaved, but I've been washing weekly, moisturizing daily and only using heat 1x per week on the hair that's left out. I think keeping my hair weaved falls within the guidelines of this challenge.

Hanging in there but I just went to a wedding and had to comb!
I'll start fresh tomorrow!

I am noticing great growth and I love it but my hair is so thin. I pray for thicker hair!

ladies I'm doing okay considering swimming lessons and this heat. The chlorine is completely drying my hair out. I have tried cw everyday but my hair seems to be too mushy after. I work out twice a day(once in the am and again in the pm) and my hair is really taking a turn for the worse. It is constantly dry, mushy to the touch, and a tangled mess. This weekend I am going to look for another water based moisturizer b/c scurl seems to give my hair a rough feeling after it drys...then again this could be the chlorine.

I did pretty good on this challenge and started the hide hair until Christmas to go along witht he supergrowout challenge I'm hoping to be very, very surprised lengthwise when Christmas comes along. I unbraided and I did get a good amount of growth and that's curly with shrinkage, I can't wait to maxiglide and see the length. THanks for the suppport ladies.

Still finetuning. My hair is really growing and it is getting thicker. In fact I am surprised and shocked at how it is taking off. What I find I need to do is to put rollers on my ends to smooth out the ends because the strands are getting very thick all the way to the ends and my hair is actually standing right out from the scalp (bushing) which I really love. I do go in every couple of days to make sure that it is not tangling or knotting. Now that I know what to put on my hair to eliminate most of this, I think I have reasonably clear path ahead. I own only widely spaced bone combs and a hand made wooden comb. I only brush to smooth occasionally when I am doing a bun or upsweep. I think in a couple of weeks I will have my regime down pat (again) because I am still eliminating and changing some things to make this as stressfree and simple as possible...I am becoming a minimalist, lolol....bonjour.

I'm doing great. My hair is so thick that I have to brush it to tame it.

I am currently 12.5 weeks post and I really want to stretch until December. My plan is to not wear my hair out until that time.

I learned that the less I wash my hair the better. I have not wash my hair is 3 - 4 weeks now and it is great for this thick nest on top of my head. I am doing a cholestrol treatment now.

I really believe I am at APL now and hope to get to BSL by the 12/2006.

Keep up the good work Ladies!

I am still yet holding on. I am currently 16 weeks post. This is the longest I have ever stretched!

I got kinky twist Friday and hope to keep them in for at least 2 months.

Others are welcome as I hope to keep this thread going for the length of the challenge (3 months).

The
Plan:
  • Absolutely No (this means you! ) combing dry hair.
  • A comb can be use when conditioner (and lots of it ) is applied to detangle.
  • A comb can be used to rollerset (wet hair only ).
  • Your regular maintenance plan still applies
How often you wash is up to you. We already know that no manipulation grows hair so you have nothing to lose.

Ladies!

I have got to share this! As I told you I now have Kinky Twist and so of course I had to make a homemade spray (I'm also using Africa Pride's braid spray which is my AM spray).

My homemade spray consist of Water, 5 Horsetail tea bags (boilded together for about 20 minutes and left to sit over night). The next day I added 5 droplets full of Nettle about 10 drops of Sage and 10 drops of Tea Tree!

Well my scalp is going crazy and I can't wait to see the growth I will gain with this. I started using 9-17-06 and will use the homemade spray every night!

Just had to share!

Please Please Please Add me. This is perfect since I'm trying to gain maximum growth by 12/31/o6 In time for my New Years BIG CHOP!!!!!!

I want to be added to the list, but I plan on straightening and combing my hair one more time in 2 weeks. I wanna look good cuz I have family coming to see me. :), but after that so after say 10/14 I am down to have my hair au-natural and no heat , no combing while dry and sticking to a tight regimen for maximum growth. I may even take p wearing a wig more cuz my hair usually keeps my head and shoulders warm during the winter months.

So mayb I am on the fence about this, I def do want my hair to grow like weed cuz I sooo want waist length hair for my wedding... that way it will be long and still bra strap length or more with large flowing curls in it :)

Please add me!!!
I'm glad the challenge was extended, I'm transitioning to natural so this is perfect for me!

I've gone 2 months following the challenge rules already! This will help me stick it out the rest of the year!

Thanks!
