I'm doing great with this challenge. No comb has touched my head, well I did use the shower comb to scratch my scalp.(I hope that don't count)

Combing your hair while wet and full of condish is fine!

Yea Im luving this challenge as well. The only comb I use is my shampoo comb when wet and Im rockin the braidouts like crazy. Only thing is I've been shedding like a b:censored:h!!! I guess its the post pregnancy shedding... I hate it! There goes my thicker hair challenge :crying3:. But otherwise I loove this challenge. I may do this longer than 3 mos this may be my normal thing.

Can I be down? Giving up the paddle brush will be hard, but I can do it!! I'll just wear my hair up everyday.

That's why I start my own Baggie challenge, way too much shedding! And I notice b4 my relaxer my hair was very dry!

middlegirl – I added you to the list!

Sxyhairfetish, don't despair! 3 months post-baby (a year and a half ago) my hair was damn near gone! I was bald all up by my temples, but your hair will be restored. Oddly enough, it didn't take too long for me to get my hair back in that area.

I've been doing pretty well with the no-comb challenge (although I caught myself 2 weeks ago trying to pick my hair one morning...I was in the second stroke and was like :wallbash: ) BUT I'M GOOD NOW!!

Are you still taking pre-natals or did you stop cold? it's better to wean off the pre-natals and slowly pick up your hair vitamins @ the same time, that could help with the shedding-if yu're not nursing of course if you are still stick w. the pre natals.
also up your pantothenic acid per week that thickens the stands.

I have been lurking on other forums, and as a result I'm outta control:eek: I got my emu oil today and I ordered edible coconut oil. I'm gonna eat it and wear it too:grin: I've heard some good hair and health things about coconut oil and with double usage it won't go to waste:lachen:

GROW I SAY!!!! GROW.............

Hey can I join too ...please? :)

I have not been using a comb on dry hair for approx. 1 1/2 months! I only comb during my CO or Poo wash process. Currently I'm using MTG, but looking forward to MN for the summer (less mess since my scalp sweats a lot). My protective styles are braidouts and buns.

MonaRae

Thank very much!!!!

It has been a two weeks since I have stop combing and brushing dry hair. My sheeding and breakage after washing has decrease by half. This has been great, tough but great. I shampoo my hair once a week and every two to three days I con wash my hair and my hair goes right back into my bantu knots. They have been a lifesaver.

Thanks for the compliment sxyhairfetish. And Lucia, I wish I was given that advice because I was ready to cut it all off!

Def. do that ASAP b/c the fact is that cute baby is stealing all your nutrients from you so you need the extra just liek when you were pregnant.

I wish you had too, it's totally preventable if you know about the prenatals and not to just stop taking them.
I'm a vitamin junkie, I did my reaserch, read everything about vitamins, minerals, and nutrients that I can, asked tricologists=hair/scalp specialists you name it, I even found the infamous Bargello regime it's on my webjournal that's one to copy and save
.

MONARAE what do u use for the baggie challenge?

Currently I am using a homemade moisturizer (Keracare Humecto, Penta water, glycerin, and some other stuff I just can’t remember right now) and jojoba oil to seal.

I bought another phony pony yesterday (the donut bun) and I will be rocking that as long as possible! I love it! It is so classy! I leave the bag on underneath to insure less breakage and dryness.

I friend of mines let me use some of her Dr. Miracles Anti Breakage moisturizer last night and I am thinking of using that product line.

So on Aug 22, we are posting pictures? I didn't know there was an official date. That works great for me because after my next relaxer July 1st, that will be the next time I use heat so I can measure my growth!

I remember an update for GHLW and saw that someone included that date in a post. Hopefully by then I'll have some more pictures for everyone. It will be very interesting to see everyone's progress. Has anyone altered there regimen since they started the challenge? I've been doing a little of everything...

I'm failing miserably! It seems like I have to use a comb if not everyday atlest every other day. I put MN on my scalp every night and use a comb to part and separate my hair, how does everyone apply things to their scalp without using the comb? I tried just using the tail part of the comb but ended up combing it anyway. Also, how often does everyone shampoo (or co-wash)? Do you think that if I shampoo (or start co-washing) every 2-3 days it will be easier to do this no combing thing???

Since I apply oils to my scalp, I just use the pointed nozzle to apply, then massage. I wash maybe 3 times a week, but use tons of conditioner to detangle. Since I wear protective styles, I just apply my leave-in, oils, whatever, then bun or french-braid. This way, it keeps me from combing my hair. BTW, how does MN work for you MissFallon?

I haven't changed my regimen none! I am still washing every 3-4 days only detangling when conditioner is in. I am loving my regimen and my hair. I am taking MSM, BIOTIN, a MULTI-Vitamin, and I am adding flaxseed and B150 complex. I am ready to get thing thang crackalackin!

MS Fallon, I don't apply things to my scalp. But as Shaniquah said maybe you can get a squirt bottle with a nozzle to apply your things like that. I know MN is more of a cream, but maybe you can add some essential oils or even MTG (I know you were having growth problems and people say essential oils and MTG help) to oil it up and then apply. Once you apply you can massage your hair with your fingertips and wet you hair a tad bit and smooth it with your palms. Then use a fine tooth comb to RAKE over it!. Or you can start washing 3 itmes a week and apply the MN then. I dunno, just giving you some suggestions.

Okay MonaRae, I've read through each and every page and I am ready for this challenge. I still have 2 months and 1 week to grow some hair!
