I forgot to tell you that I also add castro oil to my end when my hair is soaking wet. This allows it to be applied much easier!!!!!

MonaRae...are you doing the same as far as shampoo, condit, etc? I'm flip-flopping between products ex: MNT, Suave Humectant, CON (I think that's it.) lately though it's been MNT sham. and condit. slathered with suave...

Yep. I shampoo with Keracare Detangling, rinse, add Humecto, and let it sit for 10 minutes, detangle and add Aveda DR, sit for 20 more minutes and rinse. Lately I have been using Keracare's Humecto for my leave-in. My hair is doing so well.

I am hoping to gain 2 inches by Aug 22.

I still failing miserably at this. I just can't put down the comb.....I feel like a comb crackhead:lol: I can go maybe a day without combing but the next day I pick the comb back up. Do you think that if I co-wash every 2 days it would be easier for me, since we can use combs on washed hair to rollerset? I figure if I cowash every 2 days it will get me used to not combing so often and then maybe do it like every 3-4 days and so on until I'm only combing once a week during the wash. I need help y'all, I never thought this would be this hard:look:

ETA: looking through the posts and I see I had this problem last week too. I need help y'all!

Since I apply oils to my scalp, I just use the pointed nozzle to apply, then massage. I wash maybe 3 times a week, but use tons of conditioner to detangle. Since I wear protective styles, I just apply my leave-in, oils, whatever, then bun or french-braid. This way, it keeps me from combing my hair. BTW, how does MN work for you MissFallon?

Its working great for the most part....I started using it hoping it would help the side of my hair that NEVER grows. It did give me about an inch on the no-growing side and up'ed my monthly growth to 2" a month from 1-1.5 inches. I was slacking for about 2 weeks but im back on it hard now cuz i need 3 inches by August 24th.

MissFallon, how are you wearing your hair? when I wash and set it, I stayed with a comb or brush in my hair, but if you're wearing a protective hairstyle, it shouldn't be too much of a problem. For my hairline, I just put oil, a little foam setting lotion or aloe vera gel, then tie a scarf around my hair to keep those dang little hairs from jumping up.

I learned how to "comb" my hair by putting serum on my hands and combing through with my fingers. That's the only way I can satisfy my fix without hitting the comb.

I wear it in a protective style (pics in my Fotki May album). I have tried finger combing and its not all that bad but i have 3 inches of thick NG and its hard to just finger comb it down. Its pretty soft and moisturized but I still can't seem to get it right. Ive started not wrapping my hair at night and wearing it in a bun but w/o wrapping it my hair doesnt lay flat like i want it, it lays wavy/curly at the top and I cant lay it down without a comb or brush. I bought some satin rollers so im gonna see if I can roll the bangs at night and maybe the front will be straight so i wont have to comb/brush it in the AM.

I'm going to do my first co-wash tonight and roll my hair in the satin rollers. Maybe this will keep my roots straight enough to not have to handle them until Friday when I wash.

Ladies I started using Dr. Miracles last Friday (6/9/06) and I am in love!

I was using MNT condish as a leave in but it took me months the realize that if applied I have to let it set for at least 10 minutes b/4 doing anything and I mean ANYTHING to my hair. If I don't wait my hair will just pop off.

Needless to say I no longer use MNT!

I'm in braids right now...does that violate this challenge?

I wouldn't think so bcause it is a protective style, and your aren't combing. From what i see its perfect for this challenge.

this stuff is very strong!! i only recommend it if your hair is weakkkk. once u use it for a fe wmonths (say maybe a bottle and a half) your hair will be strong enough to thro MNT away!!

This challenge has been great for me I have a lot of new growth.
I have been using Surge,MN and MTG and washing my hair every two days one week and co washing daily the next.
I cant wait to see my results when I relax next week.

What is MN?

I have a question. What if you use the other side of the comb, the pick part when trying to part hair? Is that okay becasue I am 8 1/2 weeks post and I have alot of new growth.

I hope so cuz thats what i do.

Ok ladies, I am sorry to say it but I quit! I can't do this. I have a bad comb addiction that I cant let go of. I have tried everything but its not working. Maybe when I relax I will try it again but at this point its not gonna happen for me. At most I can do the comb your hair every other day challenge but this once a week thing or even twice a week is killing me. My hair looks like im five and was outside playing for 8 hours all the time. I just dont know what to do:ohwell:

This has been great, I wash my hair every three days with a shampoo or conditoner, and then i place my hair in bantu knots for a day. the other two of three days Am rocking bantu knot outs. i love not combing and brushing my hair.
