Well, I happen to have the type of hair she was talking about, and I don't feel bad about it. Why should everyone love what grows out of my scalp? I don't expect it, and since she didn't name any names, I see no reason for anyone to be upset. It's like people saying they don't like dark skin blacks. Should I be upset? I'm very dark, but believe me, it doesn't matter to me that people may not like my skin tone. That's life!

Well, I happen to have the type of hair she was talking about, and I don't feel bad about it. Why should everyone love what grows out of my scalp? I don't expect it, and since she didn't name any names, I see no reason for anyone to be upset. It's like people saying they don't like dark skin blacks. Should I be upset? I'm very dark, but believe me, it doesn't matter to me that people may not like my skin tone. That's life!

RowandaP, since I have decided to try this transitioning to natural, are you saying I have "seen the light" so to speak?

I disagree with u about relaxed hair being naturally fake (this is how I interpreted what u said at the end). Relaxers are just chemicals that break the bonds of the hair strands and straightens it. When my mom first gave me a relaxer, Im sure she was doing it for the best in managing my hair. She probably couldnt manage my hair as well when it was natural...who knows. But relaxing is a choice just like being natural is a choice for how u want your hair.

cause i dont even have that type of hair myself...i wasnt upset...i was just taking it upon myself to explain both sides and help....but i digress ...tryin to help the situation and help poohbear understand the other side (cause i do) ...i do think (although not from you as you said) the statment about dark skin would get the same types of responses though as her statement did about hair ...actually probably worse

What I'm saying, if I didn't make it clear, is that I will not allow for there to be this constant back and forth with people bombarding her with posts about what she said. Per forum rules, it's not allowed, and I'm not going to just sit back and let people go at it with her. That's where I'm coming from. Now folks may not like it, but that's it, in a nutshell.

Yes, they take it on me like I write the checks. Well, I guess I'd be pissed too, I do understand folk need they money, I might act all out too if they messed wit my moola. LOL

Ordinarily I'm not this irrated, I think hypogylecemia (sp) is in effect.

Anyway so that I'm back on Topic. I think one thing is true about going natural is Personal Journey. We can't look at others success or failures or Pictures to be inspired or uninspired. I think unless one is really ready to deal with the worst possible scenario and be happy with whatever so they wont be disappointed they should wait.

On the other hand one might prepare for a battle and it might be easy.

The Journey is just unpredictable. I know people told me it would get better after (I was 3 mos post) and it may have, but I freaked and jumped ship.

I think you have to be willing to walk all the way or you wont know.

Its okay Irresist, Im sure Pebbles hair is nice, but if I see dry nappy hair that aint done--and Im sure yall know what Im talking about--that person could moisturize it and get it done into a style. For example, if someone did the big chop and has dry hair, they can at least fix it up into a nice even afro or something...not something going everywhere and every which way.

I do think talking about skin coor would generate worse responses because u cant help what skin color you are... unless u do a Michael Jackson!
