Count me in on this one, I've been steaming for the last two or three months and my hair is lovin it!!:lick: I know I wouldn't have been able to make it through my last stretch without steamin', heck it's even got me considering transitioning :yep:

Crvlngrhair
Relaxed
Current Length: SL & grazing SL on the sides
Steam 2x a week
Using the salons r us steamer
I steam in:
Coconut Oil/JBCO pre poo on wash days 1x/wk
Henna or Henna/Indigo - 1x/wk
GVP Conditioning Balm on Henna days

So far my hair is agreeing with this, the min. amount of time I steam is 30 minutes, the majority of the time it's for an hour, and for the henna it's 1.5 hours.

I'll post my starting pic after my rollerset tonight (hopefully it doesn't look like garbage lol!)

For those of you who purchased from Salon R Us which steamer is preferred? The non tap or the tap water one?Is one preferred than the other?

I got the tap water one...Missjae09 has the non-tap water one and I think that we agree that it doesn't really matter!

Currently steaming as I type!!!

Thanks. Your rollerset is too die for. Luv the color contrast. Does steaming make your colored strands less brassy?

Thanks!!! Tonight, I'm doing the rollerset on my own so we'll see how it turns out...Normally, my kitchentician Missjae09 hooks up my styles! I don't think that steam makes the color less brassy- over time, the color tones down to a more golden color.

Pls add me, I just purchased my steamer and I glad this challenge came right on time :)

Youre welcome. Yeah I know, I took the next day delivery for £9.99 even though they did free shipping too if you could wait however many days it was. I was like a child Christmas the next day!

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the world of steaming (addiction):drunk:

Im going to steam tonight. I want to try Silicon Mix I've heard nothing but good things about it. Do any of you ladies use Silicon mix as their DC when they steam.

Hello Everyone !!!
I am in :)
Name : Poutchi
WIll be steaming 2x per week. I will have braids in the majority of the time for this challenge. So I will mostly Steam with oil blends and sometimes with silk element deep conditionners mixed with some goodies ( shea butter, honey, acv).
I don't seem to find how you insert pictures but will do so as soon as I learn how to :). I have SL hair ( really close to APL though but not quite there) and I am transitioning. I am 6 months posts and have about 2 inches of NG. HHG to all !!!

I agree with Janet'... I didn't see any difference in the steam. The difference in the 2 machines is that with the non tap water is that the water is heated inside of the machine and with tap water one, the heating element is located outside of the the machine (inside of the reservoir). Another difference is the piece inside the hood that releases the steam is plastic on the tap water machine and medal on the non tap water. I didn't see where that made a difference though...
