Does anyone transition styles?

.....what I mean by that is, do you wear twists/braids/cornrows, etc almost continuously while rarely having your hair completely loose?

I'm thinking of doing a twist/braid and cowash personal challenge for myself, for the rest of the year. I want to be nearing brastrap by the end of this year. I plan to keep my natural hair in twists or braids, deep condition & shampoo once a week, cowash once a week, and detangle/remove shed hair & restyle twists/braids one by one, once a month, possibly making them smaller, bigger, or keeping them the same size, as I see fit. Possibly, once every 3 months, i'll take out the set and completely redo them.

Has anyone done, or does any one do,something similar? How has it worked for you?

Probably not what you are looking for but I do braid/twsit out pinned up for several days then redo. But I have never liked braids so n sort no. I have gotten alot of growth this way.
