I don't. I'm curly 99 % of the time so I have no need for blunt ends. Plus, I've never ever seen a split end go all the way up the shaft so I just don't buy its really all that necessary if you have good hair practices.

i don't either and don't intend to. if on the rare occasion i see a split, i snip-a-split same thing for the occasional knotted end - snip-snip what i feel or see on individual strands only.

I don't trim as long as my ends remain smooth & not velcro. At this stage of the game a blunt hemline is not important to me.

I stopped trimming. I noticed that I really didnt need it as long as I kept my ends hydrated and off my shoulders/back.

I don't.

I do chops, though. I am trying to grow out layers so it seems that once every 3 months I can do a chop. I cut 3 inches off the back in February. I may have to do it one more time, I think. I will most likely do another chop in July or September before things are just right.

But, I am not against trimming. If I ever need to I would. But, it is not something I HAVE to do.

Does dusting count? I dust as needed.

I wear my hair up a lot. Rollersetting and no heat also helps my ends alot

As far as trims, I have been doing one inch trims once, maybe twice a year just to even things up.

A friend of mine freaked when I told her that I don't trim every relaxer. But then she inspected my ends and saw that they were not as 'chewed up' as she thought they would be.

I don't trim much but I do dust my hair all the time. I think it freshens up the feel of my hair and it's much less tangled after I dust/trim it. Those ends are really old and I like to freshen them up. It actually keeps my hair growing more (not making it grow but helping retain). In high school I refused to trim my hair and it never grew an inch longer so I'm too scared to ever do that again.

I "search & destroy" single strands only. I'm not cutting hairs that don't need it. Also, I'm not a fan of blunt cuts. Maybe after I reach my ultimate goal (waist length) i'll get a real trim.

I dust twice a year. I think using humectress and now humectin have helped keep my ends hydrated.

I don't trim or cut. I haven't done so since a BC in over 2 years.

Since July 07, I baggy and keep my ends moisturized and sealed and they are doing well.

I don't. I haven't cut my hair since I cut the last of the color out in Feb 07. I always wear my hair curly, and most of the time I wear my hair up and keep it well moisturized..... so, even if I did have damage I couldn't see it.

I don't plan on even THINKING about dusting/trimming/cutting it until my whole head is long enough to do S&D's on. Then, I'll start maintaining my ends.

Otherwise, I plan on never cutting my hair again. :yep:

I do. But that's because I have severly over-processed ends that I am trying to get rid of. I try to keep it to a minimum and just search and destroy when necessary.

Once I hit BSL, I will start getting regular trims until my layers and thin ends are gone. Hopefully that will only take 6 months to year.

BTW, I'm confused about the poll. It says "you do NOT cut ...." so saying yes would mean that you do NOT cut and saying no would mean that you DO cut/ trim?

No, because I'm growing out layers. At a certain length, I'll chop rather trim. But for now, my ends are healthy so I'm leaving them alone. After a fresh relaxer, I dust lightly...and erry now and then I do a "search and conquer"...but that's rare.

The first year and a half I dusted my ends. When I saw my braids or twists were really then at the bottom I would snip a little.

But I don't seem to have that issue anymore so I haven't dusted in a long time.

I have not cut or trimed since my last time at a hairstylist which was about 5 or 6 years ago I think.

I trim about once every 6 months. As long as I keep my ends moisturized they look nice. I usually only trim when my ends look a little uneven. Even then, I don't think my hair looks bad.

I am really trying not too:wallbash: b/c my hair dresser said so every time I relax my hair that I should trim my ends. Now with the proper education the only reason why ends are trimmed b/c, to make the ends neater and even!:yep: So when I go for my next relaxer, I will not get any trims and see what will happen!:ohwell:
