I usually get very minimal breakage but i had more than normal this past weekend while DCing. I think I went too many days last week without detangling properly.

Your headband is soo pretty!! If you don't mind my asking, where did you get it?--I'm always looking for accessories to adorn my bushy hair, lol.

I know you asked Poka, but I have one just like it. I got it at Claire's.

I dont' get too much breakage, when I do I blame it on myself. I get the most issues with possible breakage when I leave my braids (natural hair) in for more than 2 weeks. The ends start to bud (start locking process) and the hair intertwins around the other..In that regard, yes I get some breakage pieces here and there.

But luckily (knocks on wood) I dont have a million broken hair pieces all over the place.

15 weeks post and been experiencing long strands of breakage that I had previously mistaken for excessive shedding. Did aphogee2step and DCed w moisture. Gonna relax so hopefully that will put a stop to that.

I don't stress about breakage unless its excessive like I've been getting the past 3 weeks. I think a few broken hairs here and there is normal especially when hair is getting longer thus older.

Studies show that people who select choice number one are also likely to deny wearing weaves, "needing" relaxers or getting plastic surgery ... :). I see way more breakage than sheddage. I suppose shedding happens but it seems like my hair isn't easy to uproot.

If you follow the techniques on grow afro long or something similar it really does help to minimize breakage.

I get unbelievable breakage. I'm surprised that I still have hair on my head. I upped my protein amount though and it has leveled off alot.

Let's see now, when I was relaxed, I can remember many times when I would go into the bathroom to comb my woefully dry hair, and literally have to brush a ridiculous amount of hair from my shoulders and back, then have to sweep even more than that up off the floor, sooooo... yeah, the 3 or 4 broken strands I see now when I comb my hair are pretty much inconsequential.

I don't even bat an eye at them anymore. :afro:

Since I started adding weekly protein in my reggie, I don't have as much breakage as I once did. I get so paranoid that I check EACH strand in my comb to see if it's shed hair or breakage...and 97% of the time it's shed hair. :spinning:

I completely agree with the bold part. I feel kinda silly checking EACH hair, but it gives me confidence in my regimen when I see mostly shed hairs. Yay us! Lol.

yeah, I get breakage from grooming and it drives me nuts :wallbash:. For that reason, I try to PS as much as possible.

Yep... It's inevitable. :ohwell: I just try to be extra careful. Sometimes I hear hair snap when the wind blows on it. Damn you fine hair! :wallbash:

I am the queen of breakage. The first pic in my siggy looks like i got a hair cut - nope - it just breaks off that way. I was using Motions CPR every other wash as a deep con back then and didn't even realise it was protien based but i still had breakage.

I don't know how i have any hair on my head as a i shed like hell and my hair breaks yet i still gain length.

I do believe you can minimise breakage by the way you detangle and the tools you use.

I used to attack my hair when i combed it. My Mum used to wince when she saw me.

Now i make sure my hair is saturated with condish or when i'm ready to style i apply a serum which provides slip.

I have purchased a Ouidad comb and then after i use that i go over with a finer toothed comb. My breakage is way less now.

I experience minimal breakage during grooming 2x a week (5-10 broken hairs) and it irritates me to no end. I am doing rollersets 1x weekly at this point in my transition to give my hair a low-mani break.

Ever since I moved to Arizona, it has been really bad. I really hope I can get some help with this.

Yeah that happened to me when I moved here too. It's definitely a different world out here and it's been my experience that you have to do things a bit differently here. Are you natural or relaxed? Also if you are relaxed then how many weeks after your relaxer do you find this happening?
