Do you ever get tired of doing your own hair?

Sometimes, because I had gotten used to going to the salon every week. On the other hand now that I am forced to do my own, I'm now able to experiment with different products and work at getting salon results. I guess I've made it fun for myself now.

I do if i had the money i would go to the salon every week because i dont hardly know what I am doing when i do my hair so there is nothing like going to a good hairstylist that has your hair flying in the wind nothin sweeter

Yes! I get tired of doing my own hair. I am planning on putting twists in this weekend and I am so not looking forward to it :ohwell: . I would to the salon but I haven't found someone that I trust to do my natural hair. I am currently looking for someone that can do my hair and also color it.

I love taking care of my hair. Its more about the freedom to do what I want (swim, exercise, NOT WRAP, etc...) without messing up my stylist-dependent 'do, that makes it fun for me.

Me too! I love doing my own hair. After being stylist dependent for the past 9 years, I like the fact that I'm not dependent on one. and when it comes to my hair, everything the stylist does, I do just as good these days- now that I know how to take the proper care of my hair and really understand my hair. but every now and again I will go to pamper myself or whenever I feel like letting the dominicans do my hair. But sometimes you just don't want to do your hair and that's why salons were created!:p

I went and got my hair done for the first time in over 6 months last weekend, and it felt SO GOOD to have someone else do all the work :look:

But for the most part I enjoy doing it myself...It costs way less too.

I really enjoy nurturing my hair. I love the wash, condish, my little homemade elixirs. I haven't been to a salon in about 3 years. I used to go weekly or bi-weekly then I started going like once a month and then once I decided to take a more active role in my hair's health I just stopped going. Now I have no braiding skills whatsoever so I will usually have someone braid my hair for me but it's typically family or friends not a salon.

I always do my own hair and I get sick of doing it. To wash and set, it takes at least 3 hours so I sometimes do NOT look forward to wash day. Every once in a while I'll hit a salon, but that's only if I'm in the city - where I live upstate the salons out here just don't do it right. WHERE'S THE DOMINICAN SALON WHEN YOU NEED IT!!!

I get tired of doing my hair wether it's relaxed or natural!!
When I had relaxers, I was going to the salon every 2 weeks. When I happened to do my hair myself, I mostly did rollersets to avoid manipulation during the week( I wore my hair in ponytails or updos).

As a natural I wear braids most of the time. I bced in May 2006 anf thankfully since last August my sister has been braiding my hair. I praise God that she's always willing and happy to do my hair:D

The "doing my own hair" journey begins for me this coming thursday. I already know it'll get old at some point, but right now I'm pretty excited about it. I used to do my own hair all the time up until I started college. But I remember I that I loved it. Even though it seemed laborous sometimes, I always loved the outcome. So after almost 10 years, I'm gonna dust my shoulders off and see if I still got it.;) It'll probably take some time to get back in the groove, but I'm still looking forward to it. And don't think I won't keep my stylist on deck for the times I won't feel like doin' it!
