^^ brg240: Thanks chicka! :D. And I HAVE to say, nice touch with the motion gifs. (y didn't I think of using those? lol)
And about the Princess Yum Yum chicka....tell me why I thought she was from a movie that was sort of the "bootlegg" version of Aladdin? :ohwell:

I did too but actually but I read up on it and it was actually 20 years in the making so if anything Disney jacked it. I haven't actually seen it, just thought the character design was cute. XD And I hated Muffy :nono: she was so mean :(

@Robot I've never heard of the show but I like her hair :love2: I'm about to watch that show simply because I like her character design XD

hairaboutit: girl idk WHO those chicks are...but I'M HATING! lol. I think I jst might go on Youtube to see if i can search lil clips from their serious :scratchch

robot.: now usually i'm not a fan of blonde on brown-skinned gurls (such as myself) but that chick right there? she ROCKIN it...and rockin it well!

KandyCurls: you earned mad cool points for remembering her last name...I couldn't think of it to save my life! lol. She's such a diva

brg240: That movie was 20years in the making? wow! I'm 21...me and that movie are close in age! wtf! lol. You make me want to see it now, it might give Aladdin alil run for it's money, eh? lol.
And like sometimes I couldn't stand Muffy either...but man..I can't lie...i'd eargerly sit thru all the Arthur episodes just to see what her lil sneaky a$$ was up to. You gotta admit, the gurl DID have some swag on the show.

D.LishaIt was actually 26 years in the making. It's kinda interesting all that happened. The original animator/creator got dropped from the project and they changed much of the plot :( Apperently in animation circles there were the original workprints of the film floating around and a couple years ago different animators came together and redid the movie so it was closer to the original vision of the creator. :) When I get around to watching it, I'm going to watch that version.

Muffy was a trip, i swear i remembering her flipping her pigtails at someone. :lachen:

You can watch on YT! It's brilliantly done and set in Brazil, so there's tons of brown characters. :yep: I started the series last year, but never finished, so I'm catching up this week.

Hair and body inspiration (add some more booty tho) lol
:drunk:

robot. Thanks, I'll definitely check it out :yep: Have you seen Darker Than Black? There were quite a few brown people in there too, I actually thought it was based in South America at first. The shows really good too, I usually get bored with anime but I watched the whole thing in a couple days.

:thud:<------that's ALL I have to say about that pic!
Who is that wonder woman? She is officially on my list.....right up there with Chel from El Darado.....I can't STAND them bi$h3$ lol. *does 1,000 crunches*

Wow, look at ol' girl. She bad and she know it!

@LittleLuxe Yes i originally read them in french and now i am trying to collect them all in English... Sometimes i wish i was an Elf from Elfquest... And yes it is the first time i meet someone here that knows it...GASP.
Oh happy day....

Sooo happy. I was lucky enough to find the whole series in Goodwill when I was a kid and wow...I loved everything from the story to the artwork. I swear when I have money I'll look into more of the creator's work.

Great Thread, OP! I'm showing my age but here are some pics from one of my favorite cartoons back in the day.

Hah! I was going to post that but my pictures seemed way too small and unappealing. You gotta love 80's hair, even the cartoon had it big with so much body you'd get sick, lol.

Marge Simpson

Would this classify as a "protective style"? lmao

Lol, I always loved Marge's Dove Commercial, it seemed like such a realistic thing and I could totally relate. One day you have the frizziness and stiffness, and the next...body and SWANG. She was whipping it like 'Ahhhh yeah, I found my staple'

@D.Lisha

I love this thread. It's too cute. Tons of my favorite people have been named. Chel :love2:, Pocahontas, Storm, Rouge, Esmerelda, pre production Tiana, Jasmine, Ariel (though I hate her), Yoruichi (when my hair gets that long I'm going to cosplay her), and the Chippettes, especially Jeannete.

Pretty much everyone from Sailor Moon tbh. :look: Luna as a human had some gorgeous hair

Villetta Nu from Code Geass

she uses protective styles too:lol:

Beast from Black Butler. Her hair is dark and curly. So perfect

Katara from Avatar: The Last Airbender

Princess Yue from Avatar (more so when she becomes the moon spirit)

Princess Kida from Atlantis (most underrated Disney Princess) *i love white hairxdark skin

Scar is inspiring too, he might not have had a thick as mane as Simba but he worked it.

hair is better in motion imo
(if I was Jasimine I'd be staring at my hair in the mirror too, probably write poetry to it. :look: )

ot but Lol you know when I was a kid I thought I was going to grow up and on my 16th bday look like Princess Jasmine (hair and body) and then when I was about 12 Road to El Dorado came out and I was like in a couple years I'm going to look like Chel.:drunk:

Wow...I loved everyone you posted and have watched all those cartoons. Code Geass was awesome and he gifs just say it all. Between Jasmine and Pocahontas I'm just drooling like a fiend. Maaaan.

Oh and Ps.

I'm glad to know there are other adults who also listen to old Disney songs, lol. I thought I was the only one rocking out to 'Stand Out' from A Goofy Movie on my i-pod.

This thread is still going! I didn't know so many of you watched "cartoons"/anime or read comics. :) I was so taken with the fashion in Ai Yazawa's works that I actually cut my hair like one of her characters:

(Pic is eons old, lol, pre-proper hair practices. I don't have this hair style anymore.)

That was the most drastic thing I ever did with my hair.

This is a drawing of a Black version of Rapunzel:

Danniquin: Love the black Rapunzel . And is it just me or does Lilo's sis. and Chel kinda favor? Like the could be cousins or something? lmao..
Smh.....that gurl's a bad **** :gorgeous:

I thought she was already mentioned in this thread, but I think she was in someone's sig:
