What is with these dudes . . . begging, pleading for a picture of you? (Or more pictures of you, if you're doing the online dating thing?) I get that guys are visual, but after asking once or twice it's just creepy . . . like

*smh*

you answered your own question! They are visual creatures by nature. They want to see what they are dealing with before they move forward.

Oh yeah this happened with me before.

This one guy asked for a face picture one and I sent him one. Then he asked for a full body pic.

Then another guy i complimented his pic and profile just saying that he was attractive. I wasn't interested in him in that way, but he caught my eye physically. He emails me back saying, "Thanks, you gotta pic?" I'm sure he was interested because I said what I said, but wow I'm just complimenting you.

WTH? That's like, "So, you want some fries with that?" :nono:

I kinda dont blame them though! How do they know you are who you say you are? For all they know you could be completely unattractive to them or be a man (and I dnt think they would be too happy about that lol) I would want a pic of whoever Im talking to online

It's not that they shouldn't want pics . . . heck, I only search for profiles WITH pictures. But what I'm getting at is the way they're asking for them . . .

i get this happening to me a lot... never mind the fact that I have 7 good quality photos on my profile page....
What i don't understand is ... if the conversation moves on to bbm or text/instant msgr...

why are they asking me for MORE pictures?

I've had serious arguments with guys over this, kindly directing them to the page they originally saw me on.... then they get mad, like i have something to hide...

Nope, nothing to hide, i just don't want random men having my photos on their personal hard drives... among the million of other women they may store and ogle there...

Thats strange. Do you think that maybe they are worried that the profile they are looking at has fake pics? Eventhough there are pics on the profile already, if the person can provide another pic that isn't already shown then that will prove that they are who they say they are?

^^ on some sites the pic is protected so you can't copy and paste them or save it to your hard drive. you can only see the pic on the site. if you email them a pic they can then save if to their hard drive. this is the only difference although it seems stupid b/c if things progressed they'd see the person one on one anyway.

Pictures I can get with, but other details...eh, not so much. Someone wanted to know my bra size in the initial getting to know you convo. I'm like...no. If he's that much of a boob man that he has to know before moving forward, then he's barking up the wrong tree anyway!

I won't even look at a profile that doesn't have a pic.

Glibgirl did you add a picture to your profile? Because if you don't it'll lower your chances of getting responses.

When I was single I always looked for profiles with pictures. I just assumed that whoever didn't post a picture was probably ugly as hell LOL

I think there is actually (and unfortunately) a reason for men that do this kind of thing.... I don't believe a lot of men trust, especially if you look decent, whether or not the picture IS of you...I think many believe if you keep sending them pictures, etc., you can't be posing like you're someone else....and then later they end up disappointed.. you know?

They want more pictures and different kinds to kind of know what they might be "getting" beforehand- saying that to say this, they want to make sure they like 100% of what you have to offer so they don't waste their time or something... I've done online dating before and usually, as long as they didn't ask for pictures of other parts (ahem, ahem), i'd usually comply... only because I know that before I end up really really liking someone, i'd want them to be a million times sure that they know what they are getting so it doesn't cause rejection for either of us later... this attitude definitely paid off for me in the long run...:yep: I definitely think it's a two-way street and as long as you're giving, he'd better be too..

I did the online dating thing back in the late 90's and early 00's and looks like nothing has changed LOL

If they look weird and suspicious then trust your instinct. If they want pictures to determine if you're Jerry Beads worthy LOL block their butts. Don't give up tho because there should be a good guy in there somewhere.

I noticed this once before as well. A lot of guys are out here stealing pictures and posing as women so I think a lot of men ask for more pics to see if the person is sending old pictures or taking new ones. New ones will more then likely confirm you are who you say you are...old ones :look: not so much.

It really makes you wonder how many people may have your picture saved :ohwell:

My gay friend used to pretend he was a girl and get the guys to send him naked pictures :giggle: sometimes he'd even make me do it LOL awful but true

One dude sent me a picture of Patrick Swayze! LMAO I was are you serious? This other man sent me a picture and when I met him he was like 20 years older LOL So Glibgirl don't get offended. Some people lie about their pictures.

:lol: Now let me get a shot of the whole body. Now the side gurl, from the side. Now turn around honey. Now turn your face to left. Eyes up. Eyes down. Geez you're not on a fashion shoot.

If you've got more than 2-3 pictures on your page and he's still asking for more, then he'd get the side eye. However, I don't blame a man for wanting additional photos as long as he's not asking for "sexy" shots.
Heck, I once asked a guy on POF for an additional photo because he only had one and it was kind of far away and one of those self photo jobs. He proceeded to call me shallow and block me. Irked the hell out of me since I didn't think the request was unreasonable. I just wanted to see some "in action" shots to get an idea of his personality and to make sure he generally looks the same from pic to pic. In general I tend to ignore profiles with only one picture.

The same thing happened to me before when I msg'd a guy back!:yep:
I think he probably blocked you NOT because you're shallow but because either the picture was from like 10 years ago, he's bigger/uglier/worse-looking than he used to be or it's not even him... I don't think it's outlandish to see a couple more photos, hell, it's better to ask before you physically see each other.. there's nothing worse than believing you're getting one thing when clearly you've gotten another- shoot, it's too late to run once you're looking at each other!

Also, does anyone else HATE those blurry a** pictures where it looks like someone dropped their camera in water and then tried to take a picture lol... now you KNOW that no one can see your face and you KNOW you ain't fooling nobody...:ohwell: smh- people still try...

There is one thing that's important to ask for--- a smiling photo. I almost dropped my jaw when a date showed up looking like his picture facially, but when he opened his mouth his grill situation was off the chain. He had one huge corn cob yellow tooth in front among other issues. He was smiling with his mouth closed on all the pics.

My stomach was turned the whole time.

:lachen::lachen:This kinda stuff is what turns me off about online dating.. seems so darn complicated to get thru the nonsense to have a normal experience.

I also don't have many good pictures of myself, just don't take them very often...I'm told I look much better in person so I feel like if you're cool with how I look online you'll be pleasantly surprised if we meet. I bet most men online aren't cool with that mindset lol

These both made me :lachen::lachen::lachen:

I wonder about this as well. I make sure to post face and body shots on my profile and it irks the hell out of me when a guy keeps asking for more pics.

This happens even outside of just online dating (for me at least) and it is soooooooo annoying. You got to be careful what kind of "pitchas" you send though dont want them leaked like Jennifer Williams (Basketball Wife)
