Brian McKnight Divorced

I just heard on the radio this morning that Brian McKnight got divorced. Does anyone know what happened?

This is old news. He was seperated at the time of his album release. I use to be a big fan of Brian Mcknight until I heard that he beat up one of his girlfriends. How can you sing beautiful love songs and beat up on your woman? R&B singers and their hypocritical lives. i.e R.Kelly

I didn't know he was divorced either, and I certainly didn't know he beat up one of his girlfriends. I used to like him a lot. Oh well...

He did? Omigoodness! That's news to me.

I heard this rumor maybe six or seven years ago on the radio. I don't know if it is officially true but it did leave feeling less impressed with Brian.

brian mcknight got on the radio a few years ago and said that he doesn't even vote. this was my freshman year in college. i'm going into my third year now so i don't know if he still doesn't. But when I heard him say that....a black man say that...it completely turned me off. I don't listen to any of his music anymore.

I had to open this thread because I honestly never knew Brian McNight was married. I always thought he was gay.

I never knew he was married either....I heard the same thing on the radio, him saying he doesn't vote. He was on I think the Tom Joyner morning show(TJMS) and he said something to the effect that he doesn't vote because he is above middel class and his vote wouldn't matter any way so he doesn't feel the need to vote. You know voting only improves the lives of the middle class or the poor and since he's above that his vote would not impact anything...something along those lines....don't quote me but the lady that is on TJMS was like "Brian!!!" she said it in disbelieve....since then....I haven't really bought or listened to his music.

What!! How ridiculous can a person be!! Take this Brian

He just lost all cool points with me.

I also heard this on TJMS. He still doesn't vote and he said that on the TJMS. They didn't get into it agian because TOM let him have it the last time.

we must remember celebrities are human, so they are subject to human frailty..........

I agree, why are we disappointed in celebrities when we are the ones who build them up and then we are quick to tear them down. They are human like the rest of us and make mistakes. I think its sometimes unfair how we put them on pedestals and its pressures them to comform to an image that may not be their true image, this is one of the reasons why you see so much alcohol and drug abuse, eating disorders in them. Not to say that us "mere mortals" don't suffer from problems, but their's are made worse by the public scrutiny they are under.

i would ike to say the brain mcknight is no king or god but a human bean like the rest he is entitled to make his mistakes and learned and thats dumb if u stop listening to his music because he didn't vote. somme ppl tend to forgeth that celbrity are human beans and they have the same right as you all

So what if he doesn't vote. I don't either! It's still a choice, isn't it?

I don't know what his reasons are, but I have mine, and to each his own.

Since when is choosing not to vote a human frailty? Omigod!

I am really into music and lyrics of a song. If your song is talking about treating women with love and respect and you go out and beat up your woman. I have a problem with that. Sometimes your song are contrary to how you are in real life.

Today is my first time hearing it. Was he ever charged? Did it make the papers? I'm surprised I didn't hear about it.

There have always been rumors that Luther V. is gay. Suppose it came out that he is, but he sings romantic love songs to women.

Would you still buy and enjoy his music, knowing he's laid up with some man?

maybe he is gay- which could explain the divorce

i find it hard to enjoy someone's music that i don't respect. i know he's human and is entitled to his views but i'm entitled to my view of that person as well. i don't care if he's gay but his views on voting just disgusts me. everytime i see or hear him, I'll be thinking, "what an idiot!" granted, he may come out with a song that i like and i may even download it...but it will need to be a pretty amazing song.

Anybody remember he was on Platinum he played a guy that raped a groupie and videotaped it. I was like wow this is really outta character for Brian Mcknight...little did i know. He probably got a kick outta the role.

Well, I still listen to Brian McKnight's music. Both R. Kelly and Brian McKnight might have some huge moral issues they need to work out, but I still learn from them vocally. I've learned a lot about singing, voice control, power, etc by listening to these two artists.

My comments were referring to the critism that he sings beautiful love songs yet he is getting a divorce, I'm not talking about voting. Personally, I thinks it a shame when people do not exercise their right to vote, because in my own country we cannot vote for our head of state and people are being imprisoned for fighting for that right.

Beating a woman up is never right. there are reasons and excuses as to why they do it but self control is sumpin we should all exercise i dont care whether your're a celeb or not. men who abuse women have many things in common and slyness is one. they build up an image that they are so wonderful (wther by writing romantic break ya heart songs or working for the police) DV knows no boundaries race colour religion sex or wealth. i just hope his ex has the strength to whoop his ass and build up her life and confidence and realize that she wasnt to blame. this is TOO MUCH FOR ME!

An artist being Gay is not an issue for me. AN artist that is a pedofile or beats up on women is a problem for me. An artist who kills people and has no remorse is an issue too. I can like someone's music but not be in support of their lifestyle.
