I want to join this challenge as well. I've been using it on my scalp and to seal my ends. I will post a pic as soon as I figure out how to from my phone.

Any experts out there posting pics fm their phones I would greatly appreciate some assistance. Btw I have a Iphone if that helps.

TIA
I'm having a hard time uploading from my phone directly to a post.

hi ladies!

@BlackGeisha and my fellow jbco lovers: what's this i'm reading about jbco not being good in the winter because of its humectant like qualities? (see thread)

http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forum6/thread495927-3.html

i just started this year with the jbco, so i don't have that much experience with the winter seasons yet, so how many of you use this during the winter and most importantly HOW do you use it to avoid the humectant like drying out of the hair they say humectants do when there is no moisture in the air?

thanks ladies!

i don't know, i mix my jbco w/ cold pressed castor oil. I also live in Miami we don't really have winter, the coldest it gets is like 40, i still be cold though.
ain't nuthin gonna stop me from usin' my castor oil, year round!

I believe that castor oil is a humectant. I baggy all the time. At night, on my way to work. Whenever i get the chance. So im not worrying about losing moisture. Plus i only grease with it anyway

Thank You Afrochique, Evallusion & LovinLocks for the descriptions and photos.

I know I said I would post my pics but the site won't allow me to. Apparently attachments have been disabled & I don't have the time to start a photobucket simply for this purpose. So once the issues is fixed I will post my pics.

*question* I don't really care about the growth unstretched since I don't plan to straighten till Feb, so should I take my starting pic unstretched?

that's fine

Count me in. I'm ordered my JBCO 2 weeks ago from Amazon (the cheapest I found) and it seems they don't have it in stock :ohwell:. I'll be getting my money back but in the meantime where are you ladies getting your JBCO? And how much? I might just end up using the CVS brand if it doesn't fit into my budget. :ohwell:

sams 247
oldejamaicabeautyproducts.com
jamaicanblackcastoroil.com

it may even be available @ your local beauty supply, but remember you dont have to use jbco u can use regular cold pressed castor oil also.

Since using this castor/jojoba oil mix on my scalp, it's seriously not been dry. I used to have to wash every 3 days, I went a week and forgot I needed to wash because it hasn't been dry at ALL!! Also still using Kimmay's conditioner which requires castor oil in it!

I think someone in the atlanta area wanted to know where they could get JBCO... today I saw some at a natural foods store at Little Five points.. the name of the store is Savanada (or something like that) it's a natural foods store... they have EVERYTHING!

I want to join, but I fall off the wagon too much. I will be lurking and supporting you ladies. Meanwhile, I have mixed up my own lil hair concoction to thin out the JBCO. I dont have the exact measurements, but it's around 2 parts JBCO and 3 parts Cerimidas cream. With this I only have to oil my hair twice a week.

Please add me I already have my castor oil and my starting pic is in my siggy. Plus if anyone can give me the steps to post a pic that will be great. I love me some JBCO

This is my current length straightened about 2 weeks ago.

Oiled my scalp last night with my JBCO. I plan on oiling once a week. I will be in twists for the rest of the year, and plan to keep my hair pinned in a complicated way so that I don't get tempted to take my hair down. If need be, I'll re-oil the parts that are easily accessible.

I never added a pic. It's in my siggy. I'm starting over again due to mistreating my hair especially my ends while it was weaved. Some inches towards the end, maybe about 3-4 inches, became really thin. I went to the hair dresser on Saturday and let her cut it off.

I will be oiling my roots 3-4x a week and oiling the ends as well. I'm back on track now. No more mishaps!

Still using jbco routinely. I always use it on wash day for air drying. Makes the hair sooo very soft.

best place to go. Sams carribean is located in my neighborhood so im lucky enough to just have to walk around the corner.
Hmm....perhaps you can ship to me for cheaper than what Sams Carribean charges. I HATE paying that shipping charge. *shrug* I wouldn't inconvenience you like that but it was a great thought for a moment.

I'm a native Floridian - Northwest Florida - and it gets a bit colder here than South Florida. But you're right, I still be cold too.

Count me in. I subscribed 10 minutes ago to participate in this challenge.
I discovered LHCF about a month ago. Great site.
I will apply JBCO 2 times per week: after Wed cowash & deep cond and after Sat wash & deep cond). I'm trying to upload a photo but having trouble.

still patiently waiting for my jbco to arrive. the only other kind i have around the house is that light green hollywood stuff.

wow this is only my first week trying this castor oil stuff and I had no idea how shiny and soft my hair would turn out. My wrap looks gorgeous and full of life. Thumbs up*

Can I still add my pic? Also .. Do I have to straighten or can I take a starting pic in my cornrowed pigtails??
ETA: starting pic is in my sig :)

I will be joining you guys Im natural now and I will be using JBCO straight from Jamaica. My hair loves this stuff. I have always been convinced the ones we are buying from SAM's club is not real. I also use the Haitian one and both the Jamaican and Haitian castor oils are thicker and richer than the diluted stuff we buy here. Look at the pic below. The bigger bottles are pure the little one I bought at the BSS.

Applied Kimmaytube leave-in on Sunday and Wednesday. I am using cold-pressed CO in the leave-in. I spritz my hair each morning with my spritz containing CO as well.

Pre-poo with Red Pimento JBCO then Dc with Redken-Real Control,Pantene mega thick as a rinse/use hair milk as a leave-in/Avocado Butter on the length & ends...JBCO on roots....
(Hair is in Bantu Knots/Braids)
