I am wishing you luck and I know you will be successful on your continued transition. I have to say that I never had the urge to BC b/c the two textures weren't that bothersome, but it's only now that I am trying to do WnG's and the natural hair outweighs the relaxed ends, it's a bit obvious.

Thank you for responding to the mental requests for an update:grin: Your hair is fab no matter which way you wear it. I love, love, did I say love the curls. Are you taunting me because my hair won't do anything I want it to?

If I could get hair color to look that good, I'd be stuck on myself:drunk::spinning:
 
Your hair is AMAZING! Like Stella B. I use to just "gaze" at your hair. Then when did the thread where you did a cut and color, I thought OMGosh. I love the colour of your hair. It is highlights or all over colour? Please share. I am a natural too. I transitioned the same way. A little at a time. Your fotki is saved in a special folder with my other favorites, for "stalking", tips and updates. Will look forward to your BIG revel. :yep:
 
WOW!! I've loved you sig pic but didn't know you were transitioning! I'm 12 weeks post and have wavered between transitioning for 12-18 months or going 24+ months, which was my original goal. You have definitely inspired me to hang in there for the long haul! I want my stretched hair to be at least the length it is now, so 30 months here I come!

Thank you! My natural color is a dark brown and I have copper and light blond highlights. How long did you transition altogether before you did the BC?

I never really did a BC. I have always had length to my hair. When I decided to go natural in July 2005, I just refuse to get a relaxer from that point on. I would trim S L O W L Y over the course of a couple/few years. I am not really sure how long it took me. I want highlights. Just add me another one of your hair "FANS". :yep:

Thank you! Yes the siggy pic is about the week after my 2nd year anniversary of transitioning. It was taken back in February of this year.

I always knew that I would do a long transition but just couldn't call how long; I just knew the time would be right and I would know. Now I just know.:grin:

The other reason I waited so long is because I wanted to make sure I had enough length to always make a nice bun when straight. I can make a curly ponytail right now but I am not so sure I will be able to make a bun:ohwell:

Very pretty. I commend you on the long transition. Your hair is gorgeous. I'm trying to maintain but it's getting harder and I so wish I had the nerve to BC now because I would. But my goal is to BC before my cruise next June, 2010.
 
Beautiful! I'm transitioning and doing mini chops to, mine are very small chops though, just a couple inches at a time. Thanks for sharing!
 
I can totally see why someone would think it's a weave, that hair looks TOO good to be true...delicious!!!! Both the natural AND relaxed hair look delicious....

Wow, I see you have gone 16 months already. How much longer do you want to go? Are you finding that the transition gets easier the further along you get?

Your hair is gorgeous; I have always thought you were already natural. What part of the transition are you having the most difficulty with? I found that the further I got in the transition, the easier it was for me. At first the hardest part was detangling when I washed. Once I figured out the trick of using no shampoo and slathering my hair with conditioner (while taking my time), all my problems went away and I kicked myself for not knowing that early on.

It's interesting that I can detangle my hair easier as an "almost 100% natural" than I could when I was relaxed. Before I learned how to do this, I was battling with my hair every week.

Hopefully you can hold out until right before your cruise next year and you will have a good amount of length (if that's what you want) before you BC.
