Aveda Moisturizers?

Girl, I don't have a clue.

I guess once I take the rollers out, I'm going to put a pea size of the USC, and pea size maybe less of the serum, wrap my hair, put the saran wrap on and then get back under the dryer.

You can also use a little to seal in your leave-in.

But please let us know how it works out for you-the silk wrap and all!

heeeeeey....did you put that on my aveda tip threads locks???:)
i'll have to check.

Thanks for that suggestion! I'll try a little bit with that as well!

I will let you all know how the silk wrap turns out. I have to stop at the store on my way home to get some real saran wrap. I have generic plastic wrap at home, but it's too much trouble trying to stretch it out.

The NTM Serum did absolutely nothing for my hair, but it does great on others.

I will report back on how I like the serum either tonight or tomorrow. I'm so excited. :D

I will wait to read your report. Thanks.

I did not like that stuff either. I still have that bottle, too. I tried to use it the other day and again was like :nono: I threw it out. Too bad, because I think that little bottle is cute.

You did very good! Let me know about the Serum. I think I will try again for a sample of it. But the way NTM Serum is praised, I think it might be just as good. Ever tried that one????

Anyone tried both Aveda Serum and NTM serum?? If so, what did you think?

I have both the NTM Serum and the Aveda Serum and the Aveda is MUCH better IMHO. However, I love Aveda and am secretly becoming an Aveda PJ. I'm going to relax this weekend and use the whole product line from start to finish with the exception of my Phyto. I plan on taking and posting some pictures (FINALLY).

I have tried both, I liked the aveda better but I use alot of serum in the summer so I generally use NTM since its cheaper:yep:

Its not a conditioner but I like aveda anti-humectant pomade as well. A little goes ALONG way.

Thanks NyCutiePie and MissScarlett! Great reviews from you both.:)

Well ladies, I just got in from running some errands, so I am beat and will not be doing my hair tonight. However, I do plan on getting up in the morning between 5-6 so that I can do my hair. The wedding is at noon tomorrow, that will give me plenty of time to try out the silk wrap and fix it if it doesn't come out right.

Stay tuned...

Oohh.....I've used Aveda products for years but haven't tried the USC....hmmmm....may need to make a trip to the Aveda store tomorrow.

By the way, I've been using the Brilliant Serum on wet hair (before blow drying) here lately. I think it protects my hair from heat damage. Plus it definitely has helped my hair hold curls on really humid days.

Can't wait to hear the results!

me too!

I hadn't put moisturizer on my hair since Wednesday night so it was time tonight. I used about 3 pea sized amounts all over - I just love the Universal Styling Creme.

The USC is wonderful. This is something that I will always have in my stash. I bet that little tube will last a year or so.

I just rolled up my hair and I am under my space helmet dryer as we speak. I am so nervous, I hope the silk wrap turns out.

I shampooed with Aveda DR, rinsed, then used Nacidit Aceite de Olive Oil Rinse to detangle, rinsed, then used Nacidit Aceite de Olive Oil conditioner as a deep conditioner, rinsed, then applied Aveda Elixir as a leave in, used a dab of the serum and worked it through my hair to seal the leave in (Thanks Locks/MizaniMami for that tip) and rolled with magnetic snap on rollers. As I was rolling up my hair, my hair was drying out. So, I spritzed with my bottle of distilled water which I also applied a dab of the Brilliant serum to that water bottle as well.

I hope my hair dries in about another 35 minutes or so.

Does anyone know...when wrapping my hair after taking the rollers out to do the silk wrap, in which direction should I wrap my hair?

When I did the silk wrap, I wrapped in the directtion that I am most familiar with.

I am so excited for you!!!:D

I'm going to get the Aveda USC today, my pj self can't hold out a second longer!! I was at an Aveda salon the other day and they had testers of the the products and this stuff felt heavenly. I ended up getting conditioner instead, but I think I need this cream too!

I hope you love it as much as we all do. It really is a great product. And to think they used to sell an 8 oz bottle of it. Someone was selling on on Ebay and I thought it was a fake. I emailed Aveda and they told me they used to sell the bigger bottle and now only sell the 5 oz. tube. But, even so, it lasts so long! The 5 oz. tube is still a good size.

LoL:lol:

Yes, $16.00 is the normal price. It may seem lilke it is too much money for such a small tube, but I'm telling you girl, it will last you for a very long time. I'm sure you'll love it like the rest of us Aveda girls do;)

I think I'm gonna get this. Ya'll got me excited. I'm hoping it can replace my mouse. I'm natural I wonder if it will help with moisture and shaping curls? Anyone know?

I do like it a LOT!!! I think I'll love it after a few more uses! Great suggestion! Thanks ery'body!

Glad you liked it!!! I'm so happy that my Aveda Sistas turned me on to this. I was too focused on Aveda DR products and never really thought to use a lot of the other products.

I went with a friend to the Aveda store today in Studio City, CA. There was one guy working in the store and he was very haughty to us. He stared at us the entire time like we were going to steal. He was on the phone and came around the counter and just stood so he could watch us while he was on the phone...it was obvious. I was trying not to make it a racial thing, but I think it was. I asked him if I could sample the USC and he said no he didn't have anything I could sample. Then when we were leaving I saw him roll his eyes at us. I bought the Aveda Be Curly and just left. I'm going to call Aveda headquarters tomorrow and report him.

I see Ebay charges more than the Aveda store. Does anyone know where you can get samples? I won't be going in that store again.
