Are there any waist length, relaxed heads of 4a/4b

Thanks for posting the pictures. I wonder how they manage with all that hair. My hair is coarse and I couldn't imagine having to deal with that much on a daily basis.

I think that they mostly wear those protective styles. Actually, I am trying to get a pic of my bro in law's girlfriend's hair. HER hair would definitely inspire as well as she looks to be at waistlength. She HATES taking pics. In her case she goes to the salon every week for a wash and set. With that length of hair it is a lot to take care of. If I find Foxy and Gldspoon's regimens, I'll post them. I have them saved on a disc somewhere.

P.S. that could be vital as well... you shouldn't be doing daily handling. What they say, "Grass doesn't grow well on a busy street?" I am 4a/4b as well. While I haven't reached brastrap as yet, I know I will eventually. I try to have a "hands off" policy.

Please do post the regimen if you find it. However, I am very independent and likely will not be changing, but I am always open to REASONABLE suggestions.

Unique,

If you are 4b, then you are almost there so you can be your own testimonial.

So near yet so far, Bett1e.
6 inches seems close, but the longer my hair gets the harder it is to keep the ends moisturized and I trim a lot because I want to get to bra-strap and waistlength with healthy ends.
I still have hope, though!

Here are the regimens. I find that when I find someone with a hairtype similar to mine, it helps me tweak my own regimen. I know what works for one, won't always work for another, but at least I have a guide.
Here's Gldspoons'

Gldspoon’s Regimen

Start Date: August 2001
Beginning hair length: Little past shoulders (17” from front hairline back)

Expected End Date: December 2003 – April 2004
Goal Length: Lower Back (28” from front hair line back)

I have am using these products :

Regularly used:
- KeraCare Hydrating Detangling Shampoo
- KeraCare Humecto Crème Conditioner
- Kera Care Leave-in Treatment
- Biosilk Silk therapy
- Profectiv Long ‘n Healthy
- Black and beautiful hair butter
- Smooth ‘n Shine Gel (to tame edges)

Infrequently Used:
- KeraCare Setting Lotion (for curls and twist outs)
- KeraCare 5 in 1 Reconstructor (protein treatment)
- Keracare Foam Wrap Set Lotion (for roller sets and wraps)
- Keracare silken seal (when I blow dry for dusts)

Relaxers

I currently use Elucence regular LYE relaxer. Touch ups are done every 10-12 weeks.

Dusting

Will be done twice this year (2003) or as needed if splits are noticed. Scheduled dusts take place in August and December. (an inch was taken off in march)

Routine:

Wash and deep condition hair every 3 days. Moisturize ends once or twice every day. Comb hair as little as possible. Wear my bun everyday (and occasionally other protective styles like corn rowed braids)

Here's Foxy's

Foxybronx’s Regime

Wash 1x-2x a week, and if a second wash is done during that week it is a condition wash

Pretreatment: Apretadora, or Hot oil (Queen Helene Jojoba Oil, Olive oil or Castor Oil)

Shampoo: Softsheen Breakthru or Creme of Nature, lather 2x

Deep Condition with a heat cap for 30-60 minutes, after every wash with Humecto. I also use Elucence moisture balancing conditioner, Motions Moisture Plus, Motions Cpr, etc.

I do a last rinse with LeKair Cholesterol or Smooth N sleek ( I am just starting to like this)

I then use Keracare leave-in and comb thru

Ø If I wear my hair straight, I use Keracare wrap-set foam + Elasta QP design foam and then I wrap and airdry.. It is important for me to put 3 rollers at the crown of my head.
OR
Ø I use the Carolyn Gray ponytail method of airdrying…I apply a castor and wildgro oil on my wet hair and put it into a low ponytail to dry..and then I use Caruso rollers

Ø If I wear my fonytail, then I just put in some S-curl and put my hair in a bun right out of the shower

Once a month, I use Affirm 5 N1, Dudleys Hair rebuilder, or Aubrey Gpb for a protein treatment

Daily: I moisturize 2x-3x a day. I alternate between S-Curl no drip, profectiv anti-breakage megamoisturizer, dudleys pca, wildgro+castor oil, profectiv breakthru, keihls silkgroom, shea butter and ors carrot oil
My hair really loves the s-curl no drip followed by some castor oil

Perm every 3 months with Affirm Lye in mild, or Affirm Fiberguard
One week before a perm, and one week after I use Affirm 5n1

Vitamins: I take 3,000 mg MSM, 5,000 mcg biotin, 500mg panthenthic acid, and 2 GNC ultranourish hair.

Nightly: I put my hair in a high ponytail, and then fasten a large magnetic roller with roller clips to the ponytail, Sometimes I wrap it with a seamless comb, Or sleep with my hair in a bun. I always sleep with a satin cap.
When I comb my hair I either use the jilbere shower comb or a seamless comb.

Thanks. Their regimens are vastly different than mine so it would take more than tweaking.

Gotta do what works for you.... If I feel something ain't working, then I try to make adjustments, even though I must admit I'm a product junkie! Lately though I'm learning to stick with what works for me.

I am more 4b than anything else and I am only 2 inches from brastrap. I only plan on growing my hair to the bottom of my rib cage though. When I get there I will post a pic.
