I don't wash daily. I wash once every 2 weeks.... I wear my hair in a blown-out afro most of the time...

...however, today after washing and conditioning my hair, I've been thinking about washing/rinsing my hair more often (maybe not everyday but as needed). Next week, I plan on working out everyday and just letting my hair stay in a shrunken fro or shrunken ponytail for a while just to give my hair a break from heat, stretching, and combing, and I want to give my hair a moisture boost. When I do, I plan on using Aussie Moist Conditioner to co-wash with. It smells good.

I usually co wash daily.. and i love it:grin:

I am in braids now and as i add so much moisure to the braids i don't want to wash everyday...if i did i would be buying tones of products to re moisturise.

How is this possible? Do you ladies blow dry everyday then? If so I'm thinking what about heat damage! If not, does this mean you go to work etc with wet hair everyday?

After I wash my hair I must detangle, my hair knots up after I wash it. Do you guys do the detangling and all that jazz everyday too?

:spinning:

I'm transitioning (4a) and I've been cowashing everyday since Monday. I have been wearing a wig as a protective style to cover my wet hair. I find that my hair is more moisturized with daily cowashing & adding a leave-in.

I detangled on Monday with my Denman and detangled with just my fingers for the rest of the week. I detangled with my shower comb yesterday.

I go to work with wet hair. I do wash and gos pretty much everyday. I just shake off the mositure and roll. I have some pics in my fotki.

I co-wash every other day, unless I am working out, or have been outside getting dirty and sweaty if I am doing those things then it is everyday, I think your hair getting water on it daily is good, because I see my nails grow fast and my hands are always in water, But I have a twa so it is still easy going, I was Bald on may 30 LOL!! but that water on my head was like watering a Plant, my hair just started sprouting.

I wash daily and it actually helps me to keep tangles to a minimum. I used to wait so long in between washes, that I would have major tangles. So I made the assumption that my hair just tangles badly. But when I started to wash more often and detangle lightly with fingers throughout the week and with a comb once a week, I noticed that my hair didn't have enough time to form major tangles.

It is extra work for me to do this, but I never wear my hair straight so that helps. My hair seems a lot healthier for it. I also love that my hair smells fresh everyday.
I love your hair, I can't wait until mine gets to your length!! I agree with you about washing and detangling frequently. I think it's the trapped shed hairs that get all tangled and cause problems with infrequent combing.

I co-wash every 3 days. Was doing it every day, but my hair seems to agree with this better. I spritz or just water rinse the other days, cause I like to pick out my curls to do a afro plus my hair flattens to my head when I sleep. Other than that I do WNG's or coil outs. I do a ayurvedic rinse once a week. and DC after. I would co-wash once a week, but I use alot of butters and leave-ins.

I shampoo and DC twice a week and co-wash on the rest of the days. I'm a 4a. I don't use heat for anything other than for DC-ing (even then, it's only about 2 DCs per month I use heat).

I go out of the house with wet hair just about every day. I can only comb my hair when its wet or semi straight. so yes i comb it with a wide tooth comb in the shower. I only shampoo about once a week though. I conditioner wash.

I used to co-wash daily. Then, I stopped because it seemed like my hair was getting dryer, but I think that was actually the effect of the water (it's hard) in the new place I moved to. Got a filter. That helped. Started back to co-washing because my hair was still dry, but got tired of the constant manipulation. So, right now, I'm trying this low manipulation thing. We'll see how that works out.

Hi All: I wash or co-wash daily. I've just accepted it as a part of my daily routine. My hair becomes matted when I sleep at night and a little conditioner is all I need to pull my coils out! Afterwards, I typically seal with castor oil or aloe vera gel. :yep:

I cowash daily. I use diluted conditioner to wash my cornrows. I dilute the conditioner to minimize product build up since I keep my cornrows in for weeks at a time. I wear a wig, so I don't worry about frizzing.

I washing about every 5 days.
I'd like to wash more often if I could figure out the right product
that would keep my hair from frizzing up.
:wallbash:

i co-wash almost every day or at least 5 times a week....my hair seems to be enjoying it...i air dry and im wearing a wig for 4 weeks..when im not in a wig i co-wash 3 times a week.

I co wash every other day, I air dry or set under the dryer if I have time. Its a good idea to use oils to seal in the moisture, I use castor oil or sweet almond oil to moisturize my ends because my hair was extremely, extremely dry and brittle at the ends but this has transformed my hair and my ends look shiny and moisturized now. I will be using some kind of oil for the rest of my life I think because my hair seems to LOVE it, even olive oil. I may not be able to co wash as often once it gets cold though but I will still add oil to my hair daily.

I used to co-wash every day, and then I just went to co-washing every 3 days, and clarify washing on the weekends...But I believe I will be returning to co-washing everyday seeing my hair tends to feel dry now and my moisture could be well boosted.

:lachen: Urm, no. Way too much manipulation for my head, because I would have to detangle it daily as well, or just decide to lock after about a week.

Maybe when it's much, much longer I might start doing this, because then I will be able to see the ends, but otherwise? Nuh-uh. :nono:

I do! Co-wash anyway. It's kind of annoying now because the longest I can not wash my hair without going crazy is like near a week. After that it starts getting crazy dry and I just feel gross. I used to wash like once a week + before though with no problem. I think it's just a habit now.

I rinsed with plain water daily when I was in wigs. I had my hair in celie braids so that made it easy. Then I would just add some castor oil to the braids.

Now that I'm wearing my hair out (I'm on a personal no fake hair challenge for the year) I can't rinse daily because it would be too much manipulation to do bantu knots every night. So now I do full rinses or a wash every few days.

I do miss feeling the water on my scalp daily though. And the rinsing really helped me maintain moisture.

I co wash or just plain condition my hair with this and this is my only staple so far. My hair LOVES this stuff, my hair is so soft from it. And it doesn't hurt that its cheap !
