I think Adrienne is 4a/b... she's sooo close to waist length if she blinks, she's there

Yes, Pandora, I think so. I thought that she had more than one hair type, like I do, so I wasn't sure. But I know it is waist length and pretty.

I keep hearing of Adrienne whenever someone posts this question. Any other 4bs with waist length hair?

Thanks, but I meant board members. Although I hate Howse's attitude, I think she is 4b and she really inspired me to try this hair growth thing.

Hey Bett1e

I know Adrienne's name does come up a lot when this question is posed... that's probably cuz more of us are aware of her beautiful journey than others...

I'm almost there too (waist length), but not as close as Adrienne. Den1 is natural & nearly waist length also. All of us have posted our pics

I'm not sure of Sherrylove's hairtype, but she's close to waist length. And many of us are brastrap and below.

Your hair is beautiful but, if your hair is 4b, then I must be an 7b. My hair is much more coarse than your hair.

I also want to see pictures of someone who is 4B/relaxed with waistlength hair. I have not seen anyone who has been able to achieve it, yet. 4A/B on this board really means 4B because there is not an option for just 4B.

Adrienne is 4A, Zanna is 3C, Den is not relaxed, SherryLove is type 3C/4A, Cathy Howse is not waistlength.
I thought that Wanakee was 4B/relaxed, but there have been questions about her hair type.

If anyone has pictures of 4B/relaxed hair, I would like to see them because I am 4B/relaxed and I am looking for some inspiration.

Thanks!!

Adrienne is 4A, Zanna is 3C, Den is not relaxed, SherryLove is type 3C/4A, Cathy Howse is not waistlength.

Oh, I misread the post. I'm not really into waist length; mid-back is enough for me.

This is an interesting topic. I know that waist length isn't the majority here, but i can name a few who are close, and only one, Den1 is 4b. I would like to see what the ladies think the reason for this is. This thread is evidence that in the quest for very long hair, texture is a big factor.

Hi everyone, I am 4a at my hairline, and 3c for the rest except for the back of my head were it's 3b. I put 3c mostly because it is my overall hair type, most of my hair is type 3c.
Sincerely
Zanna

I have said on numerous occasions that texture is a MAJOR factor but many don't want to discuss that aspect.

I guess this would be a good question to post at nappturality.com ot naturallycurly.com although I think the ladies on these boards don't focus on length.

I think it can be done. But IMO it will take a 4 longer to get to waist length than other hair types. Because the hair so fragile. And relaxed 4 hair is even more fragile. And heaven forbid the hair gets over- or under-processed or is manipulated too much... And then there's just plain ignorance about proper hair care. When I first started relaxing my hair I never moisturized because I wanted my hair to move. I was in Sally's recently and overheard a woman saying she didn't want any products with water in them.

I don't understand why it would be a good question to post on the boards you listed. My hair is relaxed.

First, I think I may be confusing this thread with another one on the Off topic discussion board.

Even so, it seems that when asked about long type 4 hair we are only able to name a handful of people here. You will find a lot of members with type 4a/b hair on these boards and some of them you will find have long hair. It would be a way of gaining a bigger perspective on the issue of whether type for hair can grow to long lengths. Also there are some relaxed/texturized members at naturallycurly.com and on both boards I mentioned there are people who once had relaxed hair who may have an opinion still. Anyway, sorry for my confusion ofver the two threads.

Edited to add: Now I no why I got the two threads confused. Den1 was mentioned in this thread even though this thread is about type 4 relaxed heads.

oh okay. I thought you were saying that this board wasn't appropriate for a 4b.

I would suffice to know of a 4a/4b who began with thin, breaking hair, and now has thick, healthy mid-back length hair. What was your regime product wise? What was your poo/conditioning regime? etc.

Exactly! You are on point!

I believe that hair texture has nothing to do with genetic growth potential, but it has a lot to do with the difficulty in getting hair to reach its potential.
Especially if you are like me with the kinkiest hair and a relaxer. That is why I wanted to see if someone with 4B relaxed hair had gotten through the difficult stages and was able to achieve waistlength hair.

Unique,

If you are 4b, then you are almost there so you can be your own testimonial.

Here's are some inspirations... Goldie is past brastrap. Her goal is to go waistlength.Gldspoon's Album Oh, another album to look at is FoxyBronx's... she's not waistlength yet, but somewhere near or just past brastrap FoxyBronx's album ... I remember them stating they were 4a/4b. I think that 4b waistlength is achievable. It's all in the handling...need loads of TLC.
